Do not buy from chucks coins! First they are not very honest about buying and there customer service is a joke! Stopped by to check out there inventory and there was two poeple at the counter being helped. Was told to take a seat and wait for help. Asked if I could just look at the showcases and was told no had to wait. Waited and waited for around 20 min and finally one customer was done so I thought would be able to look around. Well that didn't happen! Employee didn't even try to see if I needed help so by that time I was done and left. So Chucks Coins is a big joke I recommend you go to Gold Mart they are knowledgeable and honest and guess what, you can actually look around and see if you want anything which I thought that's how all business are that are trying to sell you something. I had called one other place in town to get an estimate on some silver coins that I was wanting to cash out. The first place I called gave me a quote of $1 less per ounce than what it was worth so I decided to call chuck's coin to get a second quote. I talked to Sam who was so great! He beat the price of the last place and it was closer to what the silver was actually worth! Seriously the best customer service! I will be back when/if I have silver to sell or buy! Not impressed! Very poor evaluation of coins. Offered me $16 for a $200 coin. I WAS offended. All this shop wants is gold and silver. If you are a collector of coins not just silver or gold then I suggest you find a better place. If you are into collecting silver or gold and paying inflated prices, this is the place for you. There is a buzz in security system to get into the building (good) and cameras everywhere (also good.) This must not offer much protection however, because he had a pistol on his belt. The only thing missing was bulletproof glass for him to hide behind. Personally, I don't care to deal with someone who is ready to shoot you if they feel you make a wrong move. There are enough cops out there doing that. This shop will not get my business. read more

This used to be the place to sell gold. I'm a local weekend miner and they used to always pay 80 percent of spot for placer gold. Now it 55! Pretty Darn Good. We've read the several reviews that are very critical of their experience. So we were prepared. We walked up to the door. A seriously big security guard opened the door and invited us in. He was quite pleasant despite the gun and his clear demeanor that he is in charge. He requested with sit down to wait for the transaction at the counter to be finished. No problem for us. Just like in a bank or pharmacy the routine is to stand back to give the person in front of you privacy. I like privacy, and appreciated the request. We went to the counter on command. Eric was the guy we dealt with. His holstered Glock was as big as the security guard's. Eric knew everything about everything. Explained in detail about how values are determined. When I told him the spot price for gold, he looked at his computer and said it had gone up in the last hour so he could pay more. We were impressed. The security guard was quite pleasant. Sometimes you have to go with the flow and just relax. This place is really Ok. read more
