Goldfish provides great structural lessons to kids. Depends on their skills, kids will start/move on to different levels. It's a 30 mins class. Multiple classes going on at once (12 lanes?). Many staff members around to ensure kids safety. The instructors we have are great. They have a good connections with kids. Almost all students are happy to be there. There are showering rooms, bathrooms, changing rooms, hair dryers and chairs for parents to sit and watch. It's very efficient and great design of the class and the facility. Highly recommend for kids who are beginners. read more

I enrolled my daughter here couple of months ago. We got a free trial class to get started. She was a beginner, so she started with Glider 1. She loved her first swim lesson, and we decided to enroll in a weekly class. The swimming experience has been great so far. She learned a lot of skills within a month and already moved on to Glider 2. The facility itself is amazing. Lots of parking spots outside. Inside the building it's kept warm and humid. They have lots of changing rooms, restrooms and a hair drying station with 6 dryers. The huge pool has several lanes and a separate section for family swimming. Every half an hour they operation multiple classes for different levels, while multiple supervisors and lifeguards monitor each swimmer. After each lesson, they also provide rating on the performance of the swimmer. The app also makes it easy to manage class enrollment, transfers and putting in absent notice. They also offer discounts rates as promotions sometimes, like in October second class enrollment had 35% off. The staff members at the desk are super helpful and always try to give the guests the best service. No surprise that they continue to be so popular for kids' swimming classes. read more

Really like this swim school for my son. He started in Junior 1 last year and has since been promoted to Junior 2. We see he is improving and growing with his swimming skills. In the beginning had a few changes in teachers, but it happens. He really likes his new teacher and I can see the improvement. They have changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers. They even have family swim at least once a month and the pool is heated so it's great you don't have to go into a freezing pool. read more

My son attended a party yesterday and he thoroughly enjoyed himself. There were about 30 kids and everyone enjoyed! The space was great! Clean, friendly staff, organized and very safe. Super cute changing rooms, nice decor and private parking lot for convenience. Good for all ages. read more

We've been part of the Goldfish Swim School family in Closter since my son was a baby, and we've had nothing but a positive experience over the years. He's now a confident, capable swimmer, and I credit that to the consistency, patience, and care of the amazing instructors here. After the pandemic, my daughter started swimming too and it's been just as great of an experience for her. The staff is warm, professional, and truly invested in each child's progress. The lessons are structured yet playful--exactly what kids need to build real swim skills while staying engaged. Watching both of my children grow and become water-safe has been such a gift. We're so thankful for Goldfish Closter and can't recommend it enough to other families. read more

Goldfish is a national chain offering weekly swim classes for kids. Our daughter has been enrolled in this Goldfish location since she was 6 months old. She is almost three now and she has advanced two levels to the junior swimmer level. She loves it and has no intention of stopping. The teachers are great and we feel like she is making great progress. The classes are small with four or fewer kids per teacher. The school is very well organized with a check in and check out process, one door to enter the pool, one door to exit the pool, and announcements at the beginning and the end of each class. It has clean changing rooms and bathrooms. The make-up class process is very streamlined and you can sign up for make-up classes online very easily. If you miss a class or a kid poops in the pool during your class, you get a make-up. The one qualm I have about Goldfish is the teacher turnover. The teachers miss and have substitutes quite a bit, and come and go quite a bit, so you do not have all that much consistency, especially with the junior level classes. read more

Our family absolutely loves Goldfish Swim School, and it has truly become one of the best parts of our daughter's week. From the moment we walk through the doors, we can feel the warm, positive energy--every staff member greets our daughter by name, celebrates her progress, and makes her feel confident and safe in the water. We've watched her grow from being a little hesitant around the pool to a strong, excited swimmer who can't wait to show us what she's learned. The instructors are patient, encouraging, and incredibly skilled at meeting kids right where they are. They turn every lesson into a fun, engaging experience that builds real skills while keeping the atmosphere upbeat and supportive. As a parent, it means everything to see our daughter smiling, laughing, and genuinely proud of herself after every class. We love the consistency, the clean and well-run facility, and the thoughtful touches--like progress updates, ribbons, and celebrations--that make her feel special. Goldfish Swim School has become more than just swim lessons for us; it's a place where our daughter's confidence has grown just as quickly as her swimming abilities. We're so grateful for the team and the positive impact they've had on her. We couldn't recommend Goldfish Swim School more highly!! read more

I love Goldfish Swim School. The instructors are super sweet. Moreover, the ease of finding a class, making up classes and the way the program works is phenomenal. I also super appreciate the showers and complimentary soap. It makes coming to swim class as simple as possible. I am now on my 2nd child going through the program. I only wish they had classes for adults. read more

My son started at Goldfish as a very timid and scared swimmer. The instructors were knowledgeable, but it wasn't until he met Emma O that it all just fell into place. She is kind, patient, fun and warm. She has such a great rapport with my son and we have followed her whenever my son moved up a class. He refers to her as his swim coach and sees her as a very supportive big sister. Emma is always a pleasure to see in the pool, on the pool deck or behind the desk all these years later. I highly recommend Goldfish! read more

We love Mia! My daughter remembered her name after the first class and I see how she interacts with all the children. She's very sweet and makes swimming fun and I see the kids feel safe with her. However, I do feel 4 kids to 1 instructor is a lot. Some classes I do see that and the time each kid gets a chance to swim is very short. If my daughter is in one with 4 kids, I'll probably pull her out of the program. read more

All 3 of my kids love water and absolutely loves going to Goldfish lessons. The class sizes are very reasonable and Closter location just went through an update which makes the location more desirable. It is often very difficult to find a good teacher who will stick around but we have found Miss Emma. My kids adore her, she is not only friendly but amazing with swimming instructions. My kids are learning more and quicker with an instructor they love so much thank you, Miss Emma!! read more

We enrolled our daughter in Goldfish Closter shortly after her 2nd birthday this past summer and it has quickly become one of the highlights of our week. Our daughter quickly developed a new love for swimming and already wants to do it "all by self". The classes are run similarly enough each week to understand the routine and structure, but there are also new skills and activities that keep things fun. Shout out to Coach Liz for being patient and knowledgeable with the little ones! read more

Goldfish swim school is an excellent place for children to learn to swim. My four children have excelled so much. They' are more comfortable and confident in the water. My 8 year old who in the past never even liked water in her face has now moved to the Pro 1 class in just a few months. Kuddos to the teachers who are always so patient and kind!! We have been taking our daughter for swim lessons since 2003 and we love the school and so does our daughter. The staff are all very nice and personable and the instructors are patient. Even on days when our daughter is having a day when she doesn't want to swim, the instructors make the day productive for her. She used to be a kid that didn't want to do swim and now she can't wait to get to class. We cannot wait until our second daughter starts lessons. read more

I absolutely love this Goldfish Swim School location. It's very tidy and bright. The parking is convenient/in a lot. Very organized check in & over the last 2+ years of my daughter being a student here (she just turned 4), the app is incredibly helpful with navigating her progress and reaching out to the facility, as well as being notified of any announcements. Aside from fantastic instruction, there is also a little swim shop with all the essentials, as well as additional events or open swim you can sign up for via the app (for an additional reasonable fee). I am very grateful that my daughter's experience has been pleasant and as a parent I feel supported as well. read more

We have loved our time at Goldfish swim school since 2021! Two kids with different personalities have thrived with their approach to teaching. The facilities are clean and so well organized with showers, changing rooms and a bathing suit dryer that I want to install in my home. I manage the lessons through the user friendly app and LOVE that I can text the facility in a pinch if need their help. Would 100% recommend this as a first stop and continued resource to reinforce good swim skills. read more

Thank you for promptly responding to my feedback about changing Jessie's coach. My daughter really likes the new coach as well. After just one extra 1:1 session, Jessie experienced a remarkable improvement, gained confidence, and is now attending lessons with a smile. She even succeeded in putting her face in the water twice, and I am so proud of her progress. I truly appreciate the coaches. I'd like to especially thank the supervisor for responding quickly to my feedback and providing the 1:1 session. She was very kind and skilled in working with my daughter, who now seems to find joy in the water rather than fear. She is truly an amazing person. read more

My kid loves going, but it's a bit annoying paying for a half hour of lessons and seeing your kid sit still and wait their turn because the instructor has 4 kids to teach. The first two times we went there was only my kid and one other with the instructor, so each had 15 minutes of hands-on time with the instructor. The last few times my child sat and waited for 23 minutes out of 30. Another complaint is the first few times they gave out achievement ribbons to all the kids at the end of the lessons. It was something my child looked forward to, but it hasn't happened the last five visits. read more

Goldfish Swim School has been a wonderful experience for our family! The warm pools and tropical theme create a welcoming atmosphere where my kids have a great time at every lesson. The instructors are fantastic, and the small class sizes ensure my boys receive the individual attention they need to excel. The amenities--like the hair drying station, swimsuit dryers, and clean changing rooms--make everything so convenient. My twin 5 year olds just love Goldfish Swim School at Closter. They really like the instructors and are learning so much so quickly. I was initially dubious on how effective the 30 min classes with the different levels would be, but when I saw how good of a swimmer their school classmate was by going to Goldfish Closter I signed up my kids. It works really well and my kids have so much confidence in swimming. I also tried back to back classes once and it turns out one hour is way too tiring for my kids at such a young age. The environment is always clean, the kids look forward to the little toys and tattoos at the end and the pool is clean and nice and warm! The staff is very responsive and helpful when I call or send a text message. read more

So much has changed over the years as a member of Goldfish Swim School in Closter; new faces, new flooring, more experienced staff, and many graduations celebrated. I'm stating it very lightly to say my youngest daughter is a handful. She's cautious and particular about her instructors. What I love most about Goldfish is their caring staff. To every staff member who has ever encountered Leila Kucera, I want to offer my most heart felt thank you. You are wonderful listeners, you raise the bar as swim instructors and our experience here feels like extended family. Thank you Emma O for understanding that both of my girls succeed with specific instructor recommendations for their best experience in the water. My girls have graduated from mini classes as wee littles to Junior and Glider classes! I'm so proud of their success, knowledge, and excitement to swim each week. Thank you so very much. You guys are awesome! read more

More than half the time, my child's instructor is training someone else, and it hinders my child's learning. Each class is redundant and they don't push their abilities. She does so much better with some other instructors, but there's not enough good ones that can actually teach and build upon their lessons. read more

Both my children are enrolled and they Love it! My son initially was a bit hesitant to get into the water, but what I love about this school, they found a resolution to his fear, and it was instructor, Moussa. Whatever he did, he has my son loving the water and Moussa. He is patient, kind and just seems to have a relatable aura that makes it easy for the kids to listen to him and follow his instruction. Initially I wanted a Saturday class, but they book up quick, so I settled on a Sunday. But Sunday's absolutely look like a Saturday, it is always packed. The parents all want front row seats to watch their little Olympians, so arrive early to score one of the VIP seats. The place seeks to maintain its cleanliness; changing rooms are plentiful; treats and juices are available for purchase; parking on the premises. read more

DO NOT buy a gift certificate for anybody here. They will NEVER be able to enroll in a class. Classes are always full. I have 2 gift certificates issued in January and I have checked the website daily since then praying for an opening and classes are always full. My daughter has been going for swim lesson to this place and so far I like the place. But today, I went and asked about my refund for 1 class since they have canceled due to staff training. I have major safety concerns at this place. But since it's the only place in the area to go for indoor swim lessons, we keep going back. On the bright side, the facilities are kept clean and the room temperature is warm enough that the kids aren't freezing when they get out of the pool. read more
