Goldfish provides great structural lessons to kids. Depends on their skills, kids will start/move on to different levels. It's a 30 mins class. Multiple classes going on at once (12 lanes?). Many staff members around to ensure kids safety. The instructors we have are great. They have a good connections with kids. Almost all students are happy to be there. There are showering rooms, bathrooms, changing rooms, hair dryers and chairs for parents to sit and watch. It's very efficient and great design of the class and the facility. I enrolled my daughter here couple of months ago. We got a free trial class to get started. She was a beginner, so she started with Glider 1. She loved her first swim lesson, and we decided to enroll in a weekly class. The swimming experience has been great so far. She learned a lot of skills within a month and already moved on to Glider 2. The facility itself is amazing. Lots of parking spots outside. Inside the building it's kept warm and humid. They have lots of changing rooms, restrooms and a hair drying station with 6 dryers. The huge pool has several lanes and a separate section for family swimming. Every half an hour they operation multiple classes for different levels, while multiple supervisors and lifeguards monitor each swimmer. After each lesson, they also provide rating on the performance of the swimmer. The app also makes it easy to manage class enrollment, transfers and putting in absent notice. They also offer discounts rates as promotions sometimes, like in October second class enrollment had 35% off. The staff members at the desk are super helpful and always try to give the guests the best service. No surprise that they continue to be so popular for kids' swimming classes. read more

Really like this swim school for my son. He started in Junior 1 last year and has since been promoted to Junior 2. We see he is improving and growing with his swimming skills. In the beginning had a few changes in teachers, but it happens. He really likes his new teacher and I can see the improvement. They have changing rooms, bathrooms, and showers. They even have family swim at least once a month and the pool is heated so it's great you don't have to go into a freezing pool. read more

Goldfish is a national chain offering weekly swim classes for kids. Our daughter has been enrolled in this Goldfish location since she was 6 months old. She is almost three now and she has advanced two levels to the junior swimmer level. She loves it and has no intention of stopping. The teachers are great and we feel like she is making great progress. The classes are small with four or fewer kids per teacher. The school is very well organized with a check in and check out process, one door to enter the pool, one door to exit the pool, and announcements at the beginning and the end of each class. It has clean changing rooms and bathrooms. The make-up class process is very streamlined and you can sign up for make-up classes online very easily. If you miss a class or a kid poops in the pool during your class, you get a make-up. The one qualm I have about Goldfish is the teacher turnover. The teachers miss and have substitutes quite a bit, and come and go quite a bit, so you do not have all that much consistency, especially with the junior level classes. read more

My son started at Goldfish as a very timid and scared swimmer. The instructors were knowledgeable, but it wasn't until he met Emma O that it all just fell into place. She is kind, patient, fun and warm. She has such a great rapport with my son and we have followed her whenever my son moved up a class. We love Mia! My daughter remembered her name after the first class and I see how she interacts with all the children. She's very sweet and makes swimming fun and I see the kids feel safe with her. However, I do feel 4 kids to 1 instructor is a lot. Some classes I do see that and the time each kid gets a chance to swim is very short. We enrolled our daughter in Goldfish Closter shortly after her 2nd birthday this past summer and it has quickly become one of the highlights of our week. Our daughter quickly developed a new love for swimming and already wants to do it "all by self". Very organized check in & over the last 2+ years of my daughter being a student here (she just turned 4), the app is incredibly helpful with navigating her progress and reaching out to the facility, as well as being notified of any announcements. Aside from fantastic instruction, there is also a little swim shop with all the essentials, as well as additional events or open swim you can sign up for via the app (for an additional reasonable fee). My kid loves going, but it's a bit annoying paying for a half hour of lessons and seeing your kid sit still and wait their turn because the instructor has 4 kids to teach. The first two times we went there was only my kid and one other with the instructor, so each had 15 minutes of hands-on time with the instructor. The last few times my child sat and waited for 23 minutes out of 30. Another complaint is the first few times they gave out achievement ribbons to all the kids at the end of the lessons. It was something my child looked forward to, but it hasn't happened the last five visits. read more

My twin 5 year olds just love Goldfish Swim School at Closter. They really like the instructors and are learning so much so quickly. I was initially dubious on how effective the 30 min classes with the different levels would be, but when I saw how good of a swimmer their school classmate was by going to Goldfish Closter I signed up my kids. It works really well and my kids have so much confidence in swimming. I also tried back to back classes once and it turns out one hour is way too tiring for my kids at such a young age. My son initially was a bit hesitant to get into the water, but what I love about this school, they found a resolution to his fear, and it was instructor, Moussa. Whatever he did, he has my son loving the water and Moussa. He is patient, kind and just seems to have a relatable aura that makes it easy for the kids to listen to him and follow his instruction. Initially I wanted a Saturday class, but they book up quick, so I settled on a Sunday. But Sunday's absolutely look like a Saturday, it is always packed. I was told that it didn't reflect the full refund because they also charged for registration which is a yearly thing. I was like registration?? Isn't that only for new members? DO NOT buy a gift certificate for anybody here. They will NEVER be able to enroll in a class. Classes are always full. I have 2 gift certificates issued in January and I have checked the website daily since then praying for an opening and classes are always full. I reached out to the company and they don't offer refunds for gift certificates and they recommend I just keep checking back. It is summer now and we still have not been able to get my toddler some swim lessons. Disappointing. read more
