Highly Recommend!! My children, now 19 and 17 went there when they were toddlers all the way up to…read moreage 12, when they were too old to attend anymore. It was such a great experience for them both that they still talk about it to this day. They love Ms. Krystal and Ms. Michelle and are forever engulfed with the nurturing, care, and love they were giving as young children. Early Einstein Learning Center offers everything you want and more for your children. It is a safe, loving, place, that prepares your child to enter school. Not only are they socially ready but academically ready to head to kindergarten. As previously stated my children stayed there until age 12 when they aged out of the program. They went there during their elementary school years after school and then went there for the summer program. Their experiences were filled with fun activities, learning, and love. My daughter, now 19 still often recalls fond memories of her days at Early Einstein and will always be forever touched by her experiences there. That all being said, if you are looking for the best of the best of daycares, look no further with the Early Einstein Learning Center.

I don't have family local so they are my family. This isn't a place that they just keep your child(ren) alive. They teach them by utilizing multiple methods of teaching and the kids learn SO much! Now that my older one is in school, they help her after school with homework which is such a relief for this working mama. Look no further. This daycare is it.

I am 24 years old now. I routinely think about Robin and this pre-school. I can't believe I…read moreremember anything. I think what resonated, is that they prepare kids to learn and adapt, so we can become the adult we were meant to be. It's easy to keep a child busy and entertained. Working with kids and treating them with respect, showing them how to learn on their own, is what pre-school should be for everybody. I had a very difficult time with my parents - I struggled for independence for literally no reason. Robin never talked down to me, and helped me cope with the very difficult task of being a toddler. The friends I made, especially Sophia(I love you) are lifelong and foundational. I had to say something - looking at my life, Sarah Lawrence was a key developmental period. I hope my children have the same opportunity as I did. This is where your kid can love learning. THANK YOU ROBIN!!! There will be nothing but blessings in your life. From a very very grateful student.

Sarah Lawrence College's Early Childhood Center is a progressive, lab school community for…read morepreschool-aged children. It's child-centered and play-based. My child started the 2s program this fall (2014) and I couldn't be happier with our experience. Everyone-from the Director to the teachers to the receptionist-is not only incredibly loving and warm but also child development nerds. These people know children. Deeply. The people at the ECC are true professionals. They have graduate degrees in early childhood education, many have been teaching for decades, and they all love a good geek-out on anything kid related. Anytime I bring up a topic I'm interested whomever I am speaking with pulls out books, recommends films, and sends me articles about the topic. They are not inly knowledgeable about how children learn and develop but they are passionate about it. I've learned so much about how children learn and process their world and can truly say that I am a better parent for being part of this community. For example I never knew how important narrative play was. Ever since we started the ECC I now try to narrate and get my child to narrate what he is doing when he is playing. His verbal, storytelling, and memory skills have developed so much. On the subject of play- this school takes play very, very seriously. Much child development research indicates that play is of tantamount importance-it is how children learn and develop the skills and foundation for later life success. The book Children's Play: The Roots of Reading by Edward Zigler is a great place to to start your overview of the research. For more on the topic of play being the work of children check out a TEDx talk by an ECC graduate student https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7y6ZgQCnvw If you are looking for a place that does flashcard drills and gives 3 year olds homework, look elsewhere. This is not an "academic" preschool. This is a preschool where children are given the space and opportunity to be children and learn in developmentally appropriate ways, which research shows prepares them so well for later academic study. It is also a place where your child will develop their love and passion for learning. My child is so excited about school-it's the best part of our week. It's truly breathtaking to see his curiosity nurtured and to know that his first experience with school is joyous and fun-he hasn't gotten the joy and curiosity beaten out of him in the name of Common Core and standardized testing. The community is very diverse-economically, socially, ethnically, and racially and my child is exposed to what the real world looks like. Families come from as south as the Upper West Side and as north as Brewster. ECC families represent the full economic and social spectrum of the US, an achievement that is sadly too rare in the highly stratified society of New York. Families are very involved-it truly feels like a community. The Parents Association is active and sponsors several activities throughout the year for both children and adults that are always well attended and enjoyed. I think it's a great alternative and even superior option in some ways to Bank Street or Barnard's Toddler Center for upper Manhattan and Bronx families because it has more space and outdoor play areas. Children go outside to play in the expansive play areas every class day even in cold weather. The 2s program does require a parent/primary caregiver -can't be a secondary caregiver- to attend with the child the whole year. This only works if one or more parents have flexible jobs or stay at home. I structured my work schedule to be able to accompany my child but not everyone has that privilege. Starting in the 3s program children are dropped off but in accordance with the school philosophy each child separates at their own pace. Lastly, the ECC is a lab school-one of the oldest of it's kind. It serves as a laboratory environment for undergraduate and graduate students. There are always one or several students in addition to teachers and teacher assistants in the classroom. Their main objective is to study and learn from the children but having so many adults in the classroom provides for amazing one-on-one attention. Students (undergrads/grads) are always supervised and mentored by the teacher in the classroom.

This is my 3rd daycare and we've now been here over a year. The 2 prior daycares had their own varying degrees and points of horror, and so when searching for a new daycare, we looked long and hard. Laura immediately made me feel comfortable and is a warm and friendly person (a mom of 3 young kids herself). The daycare is clean and she is the most patient human being I have ever known. The other 2 teachers are also wonderful with my kiddos! I should also add she takes them to the park, so they always get outdoor time when weather permits, and facilitates field trips and enrichment activities throughout the year. This year she took them to the zoo, Bounce U, the Untermyer Gardens (during their garden unit), the pool, the fire house, and more. She has monthly puppet shows with an outside vendor, and parties throughout the year (for major holidays). She even had a special daycare holiday party and gift exchange where the kids performed little seasonal songs they'd been working on during circle time. As a teacher myself, schedule and routine were a big deal to me and Laura follows the Mother Goose Time curriculum. We've had units on space, the seasons, gardening, etc. She gives us a monthly newsletter that lists books we can buy to read at home with our kiddos to reinforce what they're doing during the day. She does activities that work on motor functions, including play dough and shaving cream. It's really amazing. I forgot to add this earlier, but for my daughter's birthday, we could only book her party at Bounce U on a weekday at 3pm, so Laura BROUGHT THE KIDS FROM THE DAYCARE to the party for me, so everyone could attend, and parents picked up from there instead of the daycare. The other teacher stayed back with the little ones who couldn't attend. She will come down to my car to get my kids if I am running late, I mean, it's really just above and beyond. I am actually very sad that my daughter's daycare years will be coming to an end next year and feel so bad for her that she has to transition to school and away from Laura. I am certain we found the best daycare in Yonkers. I would highly recommend her.

BELEN! What can I say about Belen, my family and I moved from the bronx into north Yonkers 3 years…read moreago. Desperate to find a daycare for our oldest child at why time, my wife searched online for daycare that wasn't so expensive like the bright horizons. We came across this daycare on care.com, curious, my wife and I went to meet with the owner who's name is Belen, single mom with 15+ years running this business. Inside while checking the kids and the environment, we met her two assistants Stephanie and Ginel. The daycare which is operated inside of the owner (Belen's) home, was really nice. Nothing to raise any suspicion or worry about leaving my son there. The energy I got off the other kids she cares for were great also. Upon contacting the other parents as a reference they praised Miss Belen, some parents have been sending their oldest kids there which to me was a Plus. Fast forward 2 years and we had our beautiful daughter Gabriella, Belen, Ginel and Stephanie took my daughter in like she was their own. In 2.5 years my son has been there, he's never one time fought us on going to daycare, not one time he's complained about the teachers as the kids call them. The level of excitement both my children have when I pick them up to me tells me a lot. I am one to speak to my son and ask him questions but nothing to raise suspicion or worry. Ans I say all of this to say, no business is perfect, but Belen is an amazing sitter, woman who is also a parent. He daughter is who is very polite and well raised, Belen's mother, OMG a godsend. My son absolutely adores this lady. It's not a structured type of day care. It's a daycare where she lets kids be kids, has activities with them and makes sure they're taken care of with the same level of care a loving parent would do with their own... like I would with BOTH of my children. 100% refer this daycare to anyone. Sadly my son leaves this September but my daughter Gabriella will remain until she is 3 (now 9 months).

There is no talking to this woman as she is uncivilized and truly does not care for the children; she only cares about money. It is not a suitable environment for children as she has a very bad temper and harbors much anger that is exposed to the children. There is also a problem with lack of communication and advance notice of changes. Most parents do not have the luxury of being self-employed and have to plan care for their children so to be told a few days in advance that the daycare is closed is unacceptable. She is very unprofessional! For example, she changed her mind on being closed then blamed it on one of her assistants. At the end of the day, she is supposed to be the boss so accept some responsibility and own up. She should not run any sort of business nor care for children. She cannot write or speak properly so unless you want your child exposed to poor language and sentence structure ... Stay away from this place! I've also witnessed her using the highchairs as a form of restraint for children. There is no reason for children to be in high chairs if they are not eating and certainly not any child older than 6! I made it known immediately that I did not want my child in the high chair other than to eat. My child was NOT to be restrained or sleep in the highchair as other children, EVER. The assistants were fantastic, but she is not fit to run any sort of business and most of all care for children. The majority of the time she is not there. She runs off about 3-4 months out of the year leaving her assistants to run the business. She claimed to "care" for my child but threw my child out like a piece of trash when she was confronted with her lies and cheating ways. She completely lost her mind when it caught up to her and she was busted. Then she has the nerve to harass my family despite our agreement to part ways because her business is sinking. My family and I were happy to part from her and her business but then comes out of the woodwork because again she has been harboring anger and is desperate for money. We have told her to not contact us but disrespects our wishes. After much thought, I have to warn parents of this volatile, unethical woman. I cannot say it any clearer... Worst daycare ever ran by a completely unstable woman. P.S... Some of these reviews are by her own family that do NOT attend her daycare. Again, trying to lie her way through just for money.
