THE CHEF'S NAME IS YUCK AW FUL. Absolutely the worst buffet in my experience. The food was hours old. Fried foods swam in watery sauce s that rendered their batter coatings to mush. Meats were dry, sweet and sour chicken jerky. Mushroom beef was missing beef. Noodles were oily. Finally, as we nibbled at the sticky macaroons, the kitchen staff came out with fresh things; fresh not better. It was then that I realized that the name of the chef was not Yuck Aw Ful, rather Jesus de Scusting. I complain when I think it is constructive. This place is beyond help. Waitress was racist towards me. I asked her for a Sierra mist because it was just tonic water. She had the audacity to tell me what do you want me to do about it. So I told management. I totally refused to eat my buffet. Not impressed with the blonde haired old ladies service. She finally brought me a drink (after I told management) but not even as so much as an apology towards me. I won't be coming back. It's true what they say. First impression is a lasting impression. If I'd been a mystery shopper or just someone actually worth a damn reviewing food she may possibly have showed me some respect. But nope. Nada. Zilch. None. And sadly I'm not surprised. Great service and friendly servers. They have at least five hot tables with a large variety of hot, fresh Chinese food and some sushi. They have several soups, rices, and noodles. They have large salad and fruit bars. For dessert they have a chocolate fountain and ice cream. The servers work hard to keep your drink from getting low. I have eaten Chinese Buffets all over the country and this is the first place I have been to that serves Sesame Chicken and General Tso's chicken as a soup rather than with a glaze. I personally like the breading to be a bit crispy with a sweet glaze, not drenched and mushy from the soup. The Garlic Shrimp w/ zucchini was almost entirely zucchini, very little shrimp. Pretty good but not outstanding. Pot stickers we're overcooked, the general Tso's chicken was more sweet than spicy. Good variety on three hot tables and a sushi bar. Out of all the Chinese buffet offerings in Texarkana this falls in the top few. We usually get it to go and get a bang for our buck. However it is like pulling teeth to get the containers for the salad and soup in addition to the to go box that can be filled from the hot bar.
