This place is out of business. Came here twice on accident because of the reviews, just wanted let anyone else know that it is not open.

The bagel of choosing was the 'Pick Me', a steamed everything bagel topped with bacon, ham, sausage, egg, and pepper jack. I decided to add some pepper jelly on the side and it was delicious ‍. From the first bite of the soft bagel, all of the flavors complemented the next one. I recently found out about this gem from an ADN article. I can't wait to try the other bagel options!

We found them at APU on April 20th for a craft fair. They steam their own bagels and have a variety of flavors including plain, everything, onion, sesame, GF, and a sweet rotating option usually blueberry. I got the Barefoot breakfast bagel, overall it was pretty good. Very very messy since the cream cheese was warm and melted everywhere. The bagel was chewy and I was able to get an everything instead of the onion bagel it came with. You can pretty much choose which bagel you want with what sandwich. I picked off the onion even though there wasn't that much, and the tomato slice I got still had the sticker on it, which was bad quality control on their part . The banana pepper added a sweet yet tangy taste, not much cheddar on it, more peppers and banana peppers. It was very good, but again messy. We also got tots which honestly seemed like they were not frozen they were soft yet crunchy. A little spendy at almost $15 each give or take a few bucks. They are not huge bagels but stuffed with a lot of fillings.

OMG! FINALLY! A bagel place back in Anchorage!…read more To say I love bagels is an understatement. I LOVE bagels. I've even threatened to open my own bagel shop if Anchorage didn't get one soon. So you can imagine my excitement when I finally got my hands on some fresh bagels! I've stopped by a handful of times only to find them closed, so take note: they close at 2 PM! This time, I made it, and naturally, I bought one of each. No regrets! The bagels are light, chewy, and everything you want in a fresh, properly made bagel. And yes, they're BOILED! I had such a fun conversation with the person working up front, who I believe was the owner. They were incredibly knowledgeable and happy to answer all my questions about how the bagels are made. As someone who takes her bagels very seriously, I loved hearing about the process and the passion behind making them. As for the ambiance, it's a takeout-only spot, so don't expect to settle in with a coffee and a bagel. It's all about grabbing your bagels and heading out. The friendly service and opportunity to chat about the craft made the experience feel welcoming and personal. They also make bagel sandwiches, which I'll definitely have to try next time! Honestly, I'm just SO HAPPY to have fresh bagels in Anchorage again. Whether you're grabbing one for breakfast or a dozen to take home, go support this place! Come grab a bagel, or 12! AHHHHH! ANCHORAGE HAS BAGELS AGAIN!

I'm not a huge bagel eater but every now and then I get a real craving for a REAL delicious bagel, and I usually just let it slide and wish we had great bagels in Anchorage. Today I was feeling determined and used the old "YELP" machine and searched for fresh bagels near me and up popped Wooden Spoons. Pleasantly surprised it's just a hop skip and jump away from my abode I set off on a bagel mission. The store is super cute and has stair AND ramp access so accessibility is spot on, easy to park as well. They have a variety of bagels and spreads as well as bagel sandwiches all at what I would consider a great price point for fresh bagels in Alaska!! I took home an Asiago and a Nordic bagel as well as a Dill Pickle cream cheese spread. The bagels were spot on, great flavor and amazing texture. I tried the pickle dip on its own and the flavor and consistency was perfect, but I did add some of my own smoked salmon to the spread to make a dill and smoked salmon spread and it turned out amazing. If you don't have your own smoked salmon they DO have a salmon spread you can buy and it looked super yummy as well. They also have day olds in the freezer, I did grab a bag of those to take up to the cabin and stick in the freezer up there so I'm stoked for that!! Last but not least the customer service was fantastic, and super friendly.

Unfortunately, this was a second bad experience in recent months…read more After placing our order, the girl making sandwiches announces it will be at least 30 minutes because they are "too backed up with hot sandwich orders". We acknowledged and took our seats. A couple of observations while we waited. There were 4 workers, and only one making sandwiches. All the patrons were waiting on something from the lunch counter. The tables and main counter all needed a good wipe down. The staff needs better time management training to handle the "crowd". (It was not very crowded but there was no sense of urgency on anyone's part to get the people waiting their food.) The staff making sandwiches should have their hair tied back. I watched multiple people leave without being helped and multiple food delivery people waited and eventually left without the food. After 30 minutes, we did receive our 3 sandwiches. Two cold ones and a grilled cheese. The cold sandwiches were just ok for the price. The grilled cheese was not quite grilled and the cheese did not melt. The lesson learned for me is to just buy the ingredients and make sandwiches. For $50+, I should have just done that. This business could be doing so much better with a good manager, better customer service, and tightening up the cleanliness.

Almost too swift as I didn't have time to fully peruse the plentiful options and decide what i wanted to order to go. They also offered generous samples of their daily soups, so I got to taste both delicious soups! - Ham, brie, apricot, apple sandwich on french baguette - 5/5, I was expecting the baguette to be hard to bite down on but it was the perfect mix of crunchy outside, soft inside and not difficult at all to eat! What was difficult was the portion size as I could have easily shared it with someone else - pumpkin/carrot/ginger soup - 5/5, truly scrumptious! - italian sausage white bean kale soup - 4/5, delicious and just a tad too salty - ham cheddar chive scone - 3/5, I was expecting to really like this but it was a bit too hard and had large chunks of ham in it which was generous but not what I was expecting - chocolate croissant - 4/5, solid offering but not the best I've ever had - pecan maple shortbread cookies - 4/5 I wish I had more days in Anchorage and more time (they're open 7am - 4pm and October on only open Wednesday through Sunday) and look forward to returning when I hopefully return to Anchorage!
