They are delicious , the taste was perfect! Sinigang just right in sourness and diniguan meaty and just right fat. We also ordered Halo-Halo very good not too sweet which we like. It was just me and my husband--like always, we ordered way too much and ended up with plenty of leftovers. It was our first time trying this Filipino restaurant, and the sisig was so tasty and delicious. It's been years since I last had it, so it really warmed my heart and felt like a taste of home. I had been craving pancit for a while, and it definitely hit the spot. Everything we ordered was flavorful and satisfying. The place had a steady flow of customers coming in and out, with a bright and chill atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. Only wish they had turon!

My 1,200th review on Yelp had to have 5 stars, so here it is! So epic!!…read more I have had a few Filipino restaurants bookmarked for a while, but haven't had the chance to go to one until now. A good friend of mine was craving Filipino food so we chose Nanay's to scratch the itch. "Nanay" is the Tagalog word for mother. Let me tell you, this place is LEGIT!!! The restaurant has a pretty good size dining area. You can also order ahead for pick up. Employees are very friendly here and I appreciated the fact that the older gentleman was nice enough to give me a sample size of the Langka. It was right on the money! All of the food we got was definitely made with love. You can see it and you most certainly can taste it. I'm a big fan of Sisig, so it was only right to order it. They offer steamed white rice, garlic fried rice and pancit for your base. You get to choose your entrées (choose 1, 2 or 3). I opted for the sisig and their pork adobo which I have been told is a best seller here. No lies were told, as the adobo was on point! I also wanted to sample their "bilo bilo" and it was just like my mom's. I can never get enough!! Prices here won't swallow your wallet, and the parking lot outside is huge! The place was poppin' when we stepped inside and the line only got longer. That's how you know it's DAMN DELICIOUS! I suggest you try out Nanay's because you are missing out if you don't. Should you find yourself searching for some authentic Filipino food, bring yourself!! You'll be sure to leave feeling like you just ate at mom's house! enJOY!! =)

And I thought he meant a sample but instead started filling the container and handed it over to me with oil dripping on the sides. We were the only people in line, and it seemed like he just wanted us out of the store. When he was scooping the kare kare, he also kept scooping past the meat (beef items are an extra +$1 btw) and would dump out each scoop if he thought he was giving us "too much". Everything including the service was VERY greasy and I wouldn't come back.

Everyone (including the Filipinos from all over the United states) was raving about the food and the catering team set up, broke down, and made the whole experience a joy, even in all the sorrow. We had BBQ skewers (they went FAST! Get a lot!), lumpia (chicken and pork, but we sampled the vegan ones and they were amazing as well, get more because these went faster than the skewers!), Kare Kare (so tasty), Beef Kaldereta (classic and delicious), and Ginataan, Biko, and Mango Shortcake (soooo perfect). But, we all know adobo is the benchmark in filipino food and My Tita's Kusina's is the bomb for sure. We made the leftovers into a great silog breakfast the next day and it was heaven. I can't say enough how delicious the food was, and you can tell it's all cooked from the heart. If you're vegan, Melissa made some of the most interesting and wonderful vegan versions of Filipino food I have ever tasted. Want a Filipino taste that's real? Come to Wholly Grill!…read more If you're craving authentic Filipino cuisine, drop by Wholly Grill inside Mekong Plaza. I've been here several times, and it has become my go-to spot whenever I miss traditional Filipino food or find myself shopping for Asian groceries at Mekong Supermarket. On our recent visit, we savored the crispy skin and tender meat of the lechon and enjoyed the Longsilog--a portmanteau of three Filipino words: Longganisa (Filipino sausage), Sinangag (fried rice), and Itlog (egg). Wholly Grill also offers standout dishes like Sisig paired with Atchara. Sisig has no direct English translation but can be described as "sizzling chopped meat." Traditionally made from pork (often the face, ears, and snout), it's seasoned with spices, lime, onions, and chili, and served on a sizzling plate. It's a dish so remarkable that celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain once called it the food that "will win the hearts and minds of the world as a whole." Meanwhile, Atchara, made from pickled unripe papaya, perfectly complements the savory goodness of Sisig. Growing up, I often had Atchara with meals, as my dad used to make jars of it using papayas from our backyard trees. Another must-try at Wholly Grill is the Lechon Kawali, served with the iconic Mang Tomas sauce. With its crispiness and juiciness, every bite is a burst of flavor and satisfaction. To fully satisfy my cravings, I never miss their delicious desserts like Puto Kutsinta (steamed rice cake), Suman (sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves), and cassava cake. Every visit to Wholly Grill is truly satisfying, and the affordable prices make it even better. I always look forward to coming back.
