Worst Jamican food ever. Dry, old fish and they have bad customer service. Not happy at all.

I'm impressed. TBH, usually Jamaican businesses have rude staff. This wasn't the case. I knew the food would be good because there was a line around the building for drive-thru. I went inside for faster service. Mask required. No dine-in seating. Food looks fresh & plenty. Various dishes and sides to choose from @ least 10-15. I've had oxtails and also curry chicken with curry vegetables $1 more. I used to work a few exits away and it was a lunch run maybe 3x. I'll return when on that side of town. read more

I called Golden krust after I received my food. Oxtail was burned and very sweet. I talked with Ms. Jennifer who says she was the manager and I didn't understand how JAMAICANS cook! I'm Bahamian and order there all the time but this was not needed to be said. It was a cultural remark. SHE fussed at me which was bad I spent $43.00 and this was not good. I'm going to picture this food. This is not how ANYONE SHOULD BE DEALT WITH ABOUT FOOD. IF I was JAMAICAN I wouldn't have been talked down to. read more

Prices went up but so has the amount they serve. On average a large order of oxtail is over $20 but they are generous w there meat and gravy. I love that they give you extra gravy free of charge. The place seems to have maintained well despite the fire. We enjoyed our oxtail and curry chicken. read more

Normally I don't write reviews but I ordered the oxtail Large and when i got it was amazing it was so good that I wanted it again a few days later and when it arrived the second time it was small and wrong but after I called and spoke to the manager David he went above and beyond to correct my order ,I consider the way he fixed my order to be one of best customer service experiences I've ever witness from any person that works in the food service industry,David is hands down an awesome Restaurant Manager read more

Arrived thirty minutes before close and they didn't have any food left worth serving. I asked the server about their operation hours and the reply was they are a Jamaican restaurant. They serve until they run out. Guess my debit card just ran out for Golden Krust. There are plenty more Caribbean restaurants in the area. read more

Service 1 star/ Ive been here three times and all three times the service is horrible. The women behind the counter are rude and they take their time especially when there's a long line. I'm Jamaican but I don't have the accent so they try to act like they don't understand anything your saying and they will speak patois and throw shade. Just rude for no reason.smh. Food 3 stars/ not authentic at all. The curry goat pretty legit tho. Oxtails on the sweeter side. Rice and peas (not kidney beans) is decent, a bit dry, but decent. Fry chicken is fry chicken. Cabbage have absolutely zero flavor. Plantains burnt and they'll tell you it's because It was really ripe but don't believe that bs. They burnt It and didn't wanna throw them away. Plantains are easy to burn the minute you look away. Homemade drinks are delicious tho. Oh yea ! the escoviche fish would have been better if they actually seasoned the fish fish and put a little brown sugar in the sauce. But fried very well I might add. It's never really clean in there as far as dinning area. Dirty tables and dirty floors smh Just the best of a bad situation. Definitely a settlement to go here for Jamaican food read more

Pretty good food, large portions. I wish the jerk chicken wasn't as dry however. Also, the beef patties had a very homogeneous, almost blended beef filling. Not sure if this is authentic for patties. read more

I try to patronize this chain but this particular store makes it sooooo hard. The servers and cashiers are very rude, if they make a mistake they are too hard hearted to say "I'm sorry". Today i order a small jerk chicken meal but the cashier charged me for a large. When I pointed out the mistake she said she was correct and that was that . Needless to say I am never coming back. read more

I love Golden Krust oxtails and since my normal location is under construction I visit this one. Every single time I come here let me first say the food is fresh and consistent taste great every time. But this one worker has the nastiest attitude every single time I come. It's going to be a day and time when she comes across the wrong person and they loose it. Every time I make and adjustment or ask for a different item she slams down the to go box, stares like she's annoyed then gets what I ask for. It's very simple that if you HATE your job work somewhere else... read more

I have never been so annoyed with a place first of all I call and they said they had soup then I send my aunt up there because to retrieve it for me and now they are all out mind u it's 5:30 in the afternoon and they don't close till 10:30 pm !! U have an entire 5 more hours on your business day and ur telling customers that u are out or there is no more and this is a daily problem with this franchise as much as I loved the food the people there have made me never want to spend a penny in that place I will be suuuuure to make sure my family and friends stop spending money at this location They need to do better The supervisor didn't even care to try and accommodate me ! And obviously they don't have to ! What a shame ! read more

THe food was actually good, but the service wasn't. This was my first time visiting and didn't understand how to order and what came with it, and it didn't seem like they cared. I asked to taste the sauce on some of the chicken and the lady looked at me like I was crazy. I didn't get all of the food that was suppose to come with my order. I didn't know until I left the restaurant. However the food was really good. The 3 stars is because of the service. read more

This is a really good restaurant all around. I had Curry Goat and Braised Ox Tail with Rice and beans with Roti. The large portion is enough for 2 people and it's under $20. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cleanliness was 10/10. Restrooms were too. Food temperature was perfect and staff even gave a side of Braised Ox Tail to sample which wasn't on the menu. The menu only list as a full plate. I will definitely recommend. read more

This place is a joke, everything you order is a add on fee, no matter how small. They rude the drive in window girl has the personality of a tick. I will NEVER give them my hard earned money again ! At this point I would go to s Hairston. The food is always good. This location gave me a back and a thigh today. I was always taught to throw away the back. The rice was soggy. The cabbage was not freshly cooked and the curry was not unique. It was bad today. I try not to write bad reviews but if you are bold enough to give me a chicken back. You can handle a bad review. read more

Still looking for my Jamaican food spot in Atlanta, the search is not going too good. This is my back-up spot, it's close to the house and the food is good if you can get past the screw face serving. I love my fish (King or Snapper), it is not always fresh but passable. If they say they have to make more, do not wait, it is never an enjoyable experience. If you need a snack they always have bun and cheese ready or a patty with a cucumber and ginger drink is always a great snack. Still on my journey in search of good food. Hollah at ya boi! read more

The Cashier/sales lady that took my order was not customer friendly at all. She was rather rude with me as well! I will not ever go back there again. The Golden Crust in Stone mountain I wouldn't mind to go there, it is just that my GPS took me to the nearest one. I would drive out the way next time to spend my money! I gave it two stars because the food was good, which they didn't give me all that went with the breakfast read more

BAD BUSINESS DECISIONS Just stopped at GK for a package of coco bread. My total was $4.28. I gave the lady at the register my debit card. She informed me that they only accept cards on orders of $5 or more. So you're willing to loose a sale that is so close to $5? I told her that I did not have any cash on me and she asked me to put the package BACK on the shelf?!?!? A younger me would've laughed and left it on the counter, but I'm a bigger person now. I think that any chain restaurant (not mom & pop) should always accept credit card. Suck of the credit card fee for the customer retention. But oh well, I can get my coco bread elsewhere. Too bad GK. read more

I love Caribbean food, but due to the nature of the cooking process used to cook this type of food, it's always inconsistent. I'll usually find a place that I love, and when I go back the following week or month, the food is not as good. I've always thought that it would be great to have a good chain restaurant (because they are generated very consistent) that serves great Caribbean food. Low and behold: Golden Krust! The food was exactly what I wanted. I decided to go with Curry goat, and oxtail gravy on my rice & peas. The curry was nice and mild, with thick cut potatoes and lots of goat. (I got oxtail gravy in my rice because I couldn't decide between it and the curry; this was a great idea as the oxtail gravy was the best I've ever had)! My husband, who doesn't enjoy Caribbean food as much as I do, chose to go with the jerk chicken dish. He and I both agreed it was just ok. The meat didn't have that smokiness from the open flame that usually comes with jerk chicken. The jerk sauce that came on the side tasted like it had an A1 Steak sauce base. The sauce wasn't bad, it just wasn't very original. The staff here were helpful and very friendly. They answered all of my questions and even offered to let me try a few of their items that I was unfamiliar with. Also, they were VERY generous with the servings. While checking out what other Yelpers had to say about this place I noticed there is a location in Snellville. I can't wait to give them a try! read more

Food is 5 stars. Consistent, seasoned, fresh every time. I'm giving this place 3 stars because of the blaring, loud and unnecessary Gospel music that is played. Religion and Business dont mix. The music is too loud and I dont want to listen to anyone beg, plead, cry and lament while I enjoy my food. You would think that a Jamaican restaurant would play reggae, but hey that's just me. The music bothered me. I packed my box and left. THE END read more

Location: this is right off the Stonecrest Mall exit in the old KFC location. I decided to go to Golden Krust during the opening week. I was impressed with their renovation of the building and the surrounding location first off. Well done. Now to the food. The Jamaican macaroni and cheese was delicious if a bit drier than traditional American Mac & Cheese. Good sharp cheese crust, egg and diced veggie mixture. The veggies were hardly noticed and added great flavor for Americans unused to this new addition. Plantains were perfect - no issues. You get two. Cabbage was fresh and delicious with a nice spicy kick and included peas, carrots, corn as well as cabbage. They give you plenty too - at least two deep spoonfuls. The red beans and rice was very dry and not great all until I got some heavy gravy on it. Then it was PERFECT. I highly recommend lots of gravy on your red beans and rice. Now for the piece de resistance - the JERK CHICKEN. Tge chicken was delicious. Good amount of spice, slightly sweet and very moist. With a large meal they give you four pieces. All were great. Also they have a huge number of fresh juice and drink prepared. I tried the Peach Mango Tea and it was delicious. All told this was enough for three meals for me. At $19 it was expensive but worth it for one side, two patties, a drink and a huge meal. Side of Mac - $0.99 Small drink - $3.50 Patty - $2.05/piece Large meal - $11 Note - the one thing I didn't enjoy was no substitutions. If you don't like cabbage or want half that amount rice - tough luck. read more

I stop by there on my way from work I wanted some soup, it was cow foot so I decided to get a large, the soup was great but the problem I have is there was no meat only three pieces off bone , the price off the soup was $8.00 dollars I didn't even paying the $8.00 for it but it's the fact off how they distributed the food in there , I call and spoke to the manager she didn't sound as if she care one way or the other about my concerns I even explain that this was not the first time this happened to me at there establishment she was all about business she even go as far to say when you come back I would love to share out your food in my mind I was saying is she serious so I told her I won't be coming back , will stick to the other Jamaican restaurant like island vibe , and the jerk hut I won't be going back to any off the GOLDEN KRUST anymore I also notice that the server behind the counter are not friendly no smiles and not welcoming, as I was waiting for the person before me to get served the other young lady was finish checking out the person at the register instead off asking me if I was been help she just stood around not doing anything I have always noticed in most off the GOLDEN KRUST franchise the customer service is always horrible and they will not replace your food or compensate you if you have any issues read more

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would! We came in on a Wednesday night and ordered a simple jerk chicken and curry chicken meal. Before bagging it up, the cashier confirmed that these were our plates. When we got home these were not our plates at all! We had no choice but to eat it because they were closed, and we don't eat fast food. We came back first thing in the morning to speak with a manager to simply correct our food. She never apologized and she never offered to correct our meals. The manager stated that if the food isn't there that they couldn't correct our meals, after I already explained to her the situation with them being closed by the time we made it home. I would never drive out of my way from Decatur to Lithonia to scam or steal. Their cashier made a mistake by giving us the incorrect meals and I just wanted my meals that I ordered and paid for. I never wanted a refund, just my food that I had been craving. The manager handled this situation so poorly that I have no choice but to dispute the charge with my bank. I refuse to patronize this location in any way. read more
