Had Handy plumbing take care of an initial job. I thought the tech that did the assessment would do the job since he seemed to know what he was doing, Instead, he sent a relative. The tech kept having to contact other techs since he didnt seem to know how to address the issue and admitted he just started. Eventually he finished the job but took forever. I had another issue come up recently and Handy Plumbing sent that same tech. Again, he was having issues, and a simple job that should have finished that morning took the whole day. I requested some follow-up work to be done via text and phone and I've been ghosted for the past month. Needless to say I won't be renewing my contract nor using them again. Totally unacceptable.

I've been shopping around for months for a reasonable, honest and preferably independent plumbing service to replace the old degraded water supply line shutoff valves under our kitchen and bathroom sinks. Eddie / #1 Honest Plumber, on the other hand, was very responsive, honest, reasonably priced and pleasant to work with. I will definitely be contacting them again for any future plumbing concerns.

It was a genuine pleasure to speak with such a down-to-earth person, and I was quoted a fair price OVER THE PHONE. The technician (Jorge) that came to my house to do the job was equally down to earth, as well as being patient in explaining exactly what the issue was and very competently finished the job in less than a half hour. These folks earned my trust and I'll be a lifelong customer. If every business in the world was run this way, the world would be a much better place. I very, very highly recommend them. High-quality work and a long history of reliability, but this recent visit was marred by unexpected…read morepricing due to a lack of upfront communication. We've used this plumber three times over the past five years and have consistently been satisfied with the quality of his work. In our previous experiences, the pricing was straightforward and reasonable -- a flat $250 per job, even when he had to snake multiple areas. That reliability is the reason we continued to use him. This most recent visit was different. The job took about three hours, which we understood could result in a higher cost, but there was no discussion beforehand about a change in pricing. Given that his last visit to our home was about two years ago, this would have been a good opportunity to proactively mention any updated rates. After the work was completed, we were surprised to learn that he now charges $225 per snake, bringing the total to $675. We appreciate that the issue was resolved and remain happy with the quality of the work. However, the lack of transparency around pricing this time was disappointing. Clear communication upfront would have made this a much better experience.

I sent Ivan a video, honestly expecting a quote and a pitch. He called me instead. He walked me through the whole video -- what I was looking at, how you tell ordinary staining apart from actual growth, what the age of the unit was telling us. Nobody else had bothered to explain any of it to me, including the people trying to charge me for it. Then he said the thing that made me trust him. If he swapped the heater out before the staining underneath got dealt with, I'd just be paying to have the same job done twice. He'd rather I handle that part first and bring him back after -- which meant less money for him today. He was also straight about which pieces weren't his trade instead of pretending he could cover everything. I'm new at all of this and completely clueless. Ivan was patient with every single one of them and sat there thinking through options with me that would've made him nothing.
