I really like the skate environment but this place needs some love and care. Someone lost their passion and it's just here. Went for food and the pizza container was ahhhh...I was scared to eat anything out of it ...I was ready to spend for all the kiddos but the container wasnt clean. If they take better care their business..it will boom again in my opinion .... But the owners passion is gone and I can see it all over the place. THE STAFF is friendly and great attitudes So I rate 3 stars bc the staff is great. read more

All employees are unfairly made responsible for taxes that the company, as an employer, is legally obligated to pay. When these concerns are brought to management, particularly Ms. Miesha, there is a noticeable lack of accountability, and the blame is shifted to their payroll service provider. It is the responsibility of management at Golden Glide to ensure that the proper mandatory Georgia state taxes are accurately withheld from each employee's paycheck. If an employee notices an error in their pay, they have every right to bring the issue to management's attention. In turn, it is management's duty to address the concern promptly and ensure that any necessary corrections are made by coordinating with their payroll service provider. Proper handling of payroll matters is a fundamental part of maintaining trust, which Golden Glide have lost, compliance, and fairness in the workplace. Additionally, Golden Glide does not withhold the correct state, federal, and FICA taxes, which can leave employees facing unexpected tax bills from the IRS. These issues are not disclosed up front, and employees only learn of them if they review their check stubs and ask questions. Unfortunately, those who speak up face retaliation. One example includes an employee being removed from the schedule after raising concerns, only to be told that the company was "revamping" operations--a vague and inconsistent excuse, especially when that employee's schedule had remained unchanged for months. After reaching out for clarity, the same employee was told by Ms. Miesha that it would be her last time responding. This lack of communication and professionalism is concerning. Many of the staff are young workers who are doing their best, and it is troubling to see them taken advantage of in this way. Golden Glide is a step under Cascade if you ask me. It's not AS INTENSE but it's definitely intense on adult nights if you're a beginner still in your infant stages of learning to skate. The people are friendly and will help you in the middle but the space was kind of small so you were really confined to the middle ONLY if you aren't a fast skater. I did deduct one star because there was no concessions there only vending machines. Most people are hungry after burning calories so I hope they'll reopen it soon! Also, it's a little far out from downtown and it's in a secluded cut that you could easily miss by accident at night time. read more

I've been skating a couple of months now and have visited 10 of the local skating rinks. This was the second and last I've visisted. So I've visited twice. Location it sits off in the cut, you might miss your turn if you're not paying attention. It's not over-crowded like Cascade. The rink size is average. The first time the floors were high glossed and gliding great. This past Sunday, not so much . However, it's apparent, they're doing renovations as I could tell the floors been sanded or something because they were dull and some spots looked like they started re-glazing but hadn't finished. The food area was closed off due to I assume renovations but, they've added vending machines. So, I am looking forward to the finished product. I'll give them a month before I return to check out the progress. A youthful altercation occured while there and it was professionally handled. I do believe these rinks need more than 1 security guard. The Sunday DJ did a good job assisting in taming the crowd post-altercation by starting the music back with some Kirk Franklin. The music is full of nasty extremely graphic sexually lewd music during family skate times. Literally every few minutes there are lewd, graphic words and phrases coming from the music that I cannot post here as it would be shocking. Little girls and boys skating here during family skate times listen to music about oral sex, etc. I have complained, but it is falling on deaf ears. I really wanted to make this work but it is just way too much. They need a parental advisory stamp on their website. The crazy thing is there are other great choices in music that are loved by teens such as R&B and some of these were sprinkled in but right back to the sexual and violent music. read more

Came in today to wear these girls out!!!! I see my plan is working, they keep sweating and falling while trying to look cute and skate at the same time. The crowd is perfect at 1-5pm on weekends for 12 and under. Not too crowded with experienced skaters mostly beginner to intermediate skaters having fun. The food bar serves your typical pizza, chips, frosty, and hot dog type of foods. The DJ keeps the music Pumping for all ages. Restrooms are pretty clean early as well. Lots of Birthday parties going on too. Also they have a couple arcade games and a jump house. The price for entry including skates is $10/ person. Afterwards they will be exhausted!!!!! read more

It's like Soul Train on skates. Golden Glide, an old fashioned roller rink with mostly African-American clientel, is a bit of a hike from Downtown Atlanta, but it's worth it. People literally dance their way around the rink, spinning, twirling, sliding...it really is a sight to see. I consider myself a competent skater, having grown up playing roller and ice hockey, but I still felt like I was slowing down the much more accomplished regulars. One guy was doing figure eights around orange cones, which he would occasionally juggle. Came as a date idea on a Saturday night. While I haven't been roller skating for almost 15 years, I thought I'd give it a try. I really liked the rink as it was pretty spacious and the employees were all super nice and helpful. The music is on the louder side, but that's all great. What I loved to watch were all the coordinated skating efforts. Loved them. Saturday nights is teen-night, just that you know, so watch for all the kids. Parking is a tad difficult because everyone is jammed into there, but besides that no complaints at all. Wish I was able to skate better. I got shin splints in about 15 minutes :( but definitely would/will come again. Next time, I wouldn't mind trying the food; there's a party area. read more

I will never visit this establishment again. My car was broken into and my wallet was stolen. They broke into about 10 cars on the same row. A manager told me that it has nothing to do with them. That is not something you say to someone that came to enjoy themselves but instead had their car vandalized. If you don't want want your vehicle glass all over the ground and items stolen don't go here. There are other places to skate that are safer. Also, there is no adequate lighting, no security guard on the premises for parking, and parking is horrible. My car was stuck in the mud. It took three people to push my car out of it. read more

Decided to have a skating party for my 43rd birthday and chose Golden Glide. Most of our crowd hadn't laced up in skates since we were in our teens (and everyone was 30-mid forties), but this is such a great space and a huge rink...no one felt intimidated. I cannot tell you how much fun we had! The staff were SO sweet and made the day just perfect...the music was incredible and it was such an amazing experience. Love this place! It's a little hard to find, but Golden Glide is one of the most lively, jumpin places to skate in Atlanta. Saturday afternoons are great for beginners and Sunday nights are awesome for Adult Skate (if you can keep up!). Each time I go here, I meet someone new and most of the regulars are professionals in my book. This place is okay if your looking for an upbeat local environment, they don't keep the same DJ so the music varies however I always have a good time when in the ATL YALL...
