One of the best in cape/jackson. Super nice, great food, big portions. The Kung Pao chicken and crab Rangoon are the best!!!

I thought I ordered the beef in garlic sauce but this certainly doesn't look like that. Husband can't eat veggies and this has absolutely no flavor or spices so we tossed it. The beef doesn't take like actual beef, either. The crab Rangoon went in the trash, too. Waste of money. read more

Golden Gates Chinese Restaurant - Supposed to be beef and garlic sauce....don't think so! - Chinese Near Me - Jackson, Missouri

Food is excellent and they are the sweetest people. Although they do in-store dining, it doesn't look like they are utilizing that part of the restaurant at the moment. It's being used for storage. Perhaps they are getting ready for a remodel. Still, the restaurant is very clean. We ordered beef and broccoli, chicken fried rice, and appetizers and we got free appetizers too, not sure what they are but they are delicious! We will definitely be repeat customers! read more

I would say these guys are better than a lot of Chinese places. I ordered delivery, and anything that is breaded then fried always ends up more soggy than if you had ordered at the restaurant, so can't really fault them for that. The portion of black pepper chicken was huge. The rice was properly cooked, and the hot & Sour soup was very good. Crab Rangoon was good too, although a little sweet for my taste. Would definitely order again if I was in Cape Girardeau and wanted Chinese food. Would probably get something non-breaded for delivery, though! read more

Great takeout Chinese the cashews chicken is really good so is the wonton soup and ham fried rice

Small buffet but much fresher and more original than nearby competitors. For something off the menu I love the salt and pepper shrimp. Lightly breaded with green peppers, onions , broccoli and dried chili's read more

Daughter Erica was so polite and well mannered. It was refreshing to see (this coming from a teacher and administrator)! Food was delicious...spent 20 years in San Francisco so we know good Chinese Food. Wish they opened for Dim Sum! read more

We ordered takeout the night we stayed in Jackson. The food was fresh. It wasn't your typical made for Americans Chinese food. I was pleasantly surprised. The hot/sour soup was delish. The Rangoon was tasty. The dumplings were super fresh with more meat than I'm used to inside. We also ordered a spicy chicken dish with veggies. Super fresh. And they threw in a soda for free. The portions were way big which was a surprise from our usual portions we typically receive. Plan accordingly. Enjoy! read more

Crab rangoons were awesome. But we got 2 chicken dishes and both were just ok. The chicken was soggy and it was dark meat. I probably wouldn't go back. read more

Came thru for food while stuck out here with broken car, good eats, can't really say anything bad, but nothing amazing either, the people are nice and the food is fine read more

Very good food, friendly staff, quick service. We go there all the time. Really nothing else to say but of course it says I need to write more. Maybe we need to review Yelp! read more

The best Chinese food around. The food is always super fresh and hot when I get it and they give a huge amount! This place never disappoints! read more

Enjoyed a fine lunch buffet. They did seem a bit short staffed and had young children serving drinks and working the register. However, the food was warm, fresh, and tasty. It's a small buffet, so selection is somewhat limited. read more

It's good not bad but food a little bit some more than others I might go back, good service, dont stock food that much, also noodles and sweet and sour were cold!, I'm just saying 3 stars read more

Food is excellent and always hot when we get it home. This has become our new goto takeout restaurant. The whole family loves it! Service is quick and staff are always friendly. read more

This is a really good hole in the wall Chinese place. I just happened acrossed it on yelp and decided to give it a try. Everything was really, really good!! I've been a few times and cannot believe how not busy it is since the food is so good. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because the selection is small compared to most Chinese buffets. That said, everything I had was delicious so I didn't feel like I was "missing out." read more

Went here last night again for dinner and it's still just as good as always! Food is hot and fresh and any usual favorites that aren't on the buffet, they can make for you. Jasmine tea is real tea leaves and not just tea from a bag. Also they're good about keeping the buffet up with customer demands so food doesn't run out. Very much recommended! read more

Very nice Chinese restaurant. As a Chinese myself I am very picky about Chinese food and this one is definitely the best Chinese buffet in this area. The waiter/owner is extremely friendly as well. Highly recommend to people who enjoy authentic Chinese food like me. read more

I lived in China for 3 years and I miss traditional Chinese cooking soooooo much!!! I have yet to find traditional Chinese food here but of the restaurants I've tried in the Cape/Jackson area, I like Golden Gate(s?) the best. (Am well aware that in this area I shouldn't expect to find anything but American-Chinese as a traditional Chinese restaurant would probably go out of business quickly.) The gentleman that runs the front of the house is friendly & cheerful. The buffet has a nice selection of items & it's continuously checked on as they don't have huge trays full of food that lose their heat & flavor from sitting out too long. If you want your food to be spicy then you'll have to add the "la jiao" (hot chili) sauce that's in a bottle at the buffet. read more

Very good Chinese food ! Buffett or order off the menu. Prices are good too! Chinese food in Jackson this is place to go . read more

Love Golden Gate. Their take out is always fresh and so delicious. Quick service as well. Would recommend

This place is absolutely amazing. I came in with my brother but only ordered a soda, and they offered me a free a buffet. They are so nice here. My only complaint is I feel obligated to leave such a big tip.:) read more

It really is good...the buffet is not huge, but it's all very tasty and nice and hot. And everyone there is very kind and humble. Reasonably priced...we have a good time every time we're there. read more
