Ordered the combo and a full meal. I should've just ordered the combo- it was enough for 2 people and cost the same if not cheaper! Crab Rangoon and crispy spring roll (vegetarian) were very good. Mixed vegetables in brown sauce was delicious and white rice was perfectly steamed (not too sticky). One meal was a serving for 2 (days) if not 3! The hot and sour soup was disgustingly thick with cornstarch that my spoon stood straight up in the center of the bowl and the base "jiggled". I also didn't know if it was vegetarian or had a meat or fish base. They didn't disclose it. They didn't update the Yelp order status (it was still in "waiting for restaurant to confirm" status when the delivery driver texted me that they had arrived!). read more

Ordered takeout. Everything was pretty horrible. Fried dumplings were swimming in so much grease that I was nauseated after a bite. Egg rolls were fried at such a low temperature that they absorbed a large amount of oil. Wrappers were soggy and undercooked. Found a few new favorites for me!!! Off the original menu the hot beef dinner!!! The "other" menu.... Cumin beef!!! Plenty of heat and flavor with both of these dishes. The cumin beef does not have a sauce on it, but the flavors of cumin and onion and pepper are on point. The People's Choice Winner.... 9 years running!! I would absolutely agree with the recognition the locals have given this excellent restaurant. Our meals included the Hot and Sour Soup, the fabulous Shrimp Rangoon, Generals Tso's Chicken, my favorite the Chop Suey and a dish that only people that have lived in Missouri probably know about, the "Springfield Style Cashew Chicken." We all ordered Hot and Sour Soup. The waitress asked if we had ever had it here, because it is a "little different" she said. She brought out a sample for us to try. It was different. It was very good, but I would call it Hot and slightly Sweet Soup! The Shrimp Rangoon was the most crispy, delightful wontons we have ever had! The Chop Suey was perfect. The General Tso's Chicken was a little different. The sauce had some tomato base to it. It was not oily or syrupy, a really nice flavor. Then there was the Springfield Style Cashew Chicken. This Dish originated at Leong's Tea House in Springfield, MO. Instead of stir-fried chicken, it is deep-fried then covered with a sauce made from chicken stock, soy sauce and oyster sauce, topped off with cashews and green onions. Locally owned restaurant with bustling business. It's intimate but relatively spacious on the inside. Definitely ask for the Chinese menu - it has the more authentic options. Don't fear: it still comes with English translations + pictures! Food came out incredibly quickly and it seems our server was also the owner, so obviously the service was extremely prompt and friendly. The food wasn't the best I've ever had, but everything tasted decently authentic for the region and the Chinese menu offers lots of options. I was surprised that despite almost everything being red when they came out, nothing was too spicy (and trust me - I'm not that good with super spicy food). They give a big bowl of rice for every entree you order (not counting noodles/fried rice dishes), and charge $1.50 for every additional bowl you order. Unless you ordered less entrees than the number of your party, you should be good with the rice they give. Try their fried frog legs and mapo tofu, they were the best dishes we ordered! read more

Came back for lunch today, wife had the boneless spare rib lunch, way to sweet...left half of it..I had the Mongolian beef, which was also to sweet..sauce was really thick, meat was tender. Came with won ton soup with two won tons. I've have been here about 6-8 times just for takeout only because of the pandemic virus issue. Overall the food is pretty good a little pricey but you get good portions. Never really had a bad experience here except sometimes understanding what they are saying. I had to download a menu as the old one was not right price wise. I've sample quite a few meals here from General TSO Chicken, Chicken Chow Mein, Kung Pao Chicken & Beef, Cashew Chicken, Springfield Style Cashew Chicken, also the Egg Rolls, Shrimp Rangoon and Wonton Soup. Also Hot and Sour Soup. I prefer the Lo-Mein noodles vs regular or fried rice which cost extra because I like the noodles vs rice. Overall never had a bad meal here and they are pretty friendly. I use to go to perryville and eat at Chan's there as they have a all you can eat buffet which is pretty good and best time to go is around lunch as the prices go up after 3PM. read more

Can't believe I've never reviewed this place. What can I say, consistently the best Chinese food in town. They have an authentic menu as well as the Americanized version. The staff are quiet, hard working and friendly. Kiki runs the place standing at the register most of the time. She works all the time. What a sweetheart. All of my family come here from Marble Hill, Fredericktown, and us From Cape Girardeau. Is the food good? Just watch the take out biz that they do. I have friends that can go their for a good price but I simply just want sesame chicken and vegetable lo mein but they say I have to get two entrees which usually run around $17-$20 not sure but they don't have them combined. As I headed south, I was looking for something to settle my stomach after gorging myself in St. Louis, and I settled on Chinese comfort food. They offered me their authentic Chinese menu, which offered a wide variety of things I really wish I could've eaten, like fried frog leg and chili fish. But I just wanted something simple to digest, so I ordered a large bowl of wonton soup from the regular menu. It was tasty, comforting, and easy on my poor stomach, and I left happy. The place itself is nice, too. It's well-decorated with dollar bill origami, the surfaces are all color coordinated, and everything looks pretty and clean. read more

While traveling in China some years ago, I discovered that I really prefer Americanized Chinese food. Sorry China:( Maybe they do the authentic food better, but this was the worst Americanized Chinese food I can remember eating. The dumpling in the soup was tough and contained overcooked pork, the egg roll was super-greasy, and the hot braised chicken was so bad that I ended up sending it back. They were kind enough to take it off my bill so I just ended up paying a la carte for the soup and egg roll that were supposed to accompany it. Call me crazy, but I would come here again. The service was good, the people were friendly, and they had this amazing collection of origami money that I just found fascinating. There are framed origami money collections over almost every table, they have a showcase under the cash register, and another collection on the wall. Someone who works there has a real talent, and more dollar bills than a strip club. I almost gave them 3 stars just to encourage people to go see the origami money, but that just didn't seem quite right. read more

Back in the day, like perhaps almost 2 decades ago, this place was the shiz-nit. I learned to use chop sticks, fold cloth napkins all fancy-style, and like Chinese food here, and the owners used to give us lolipops, too. The last time I went here the Christmas before last, the ownership had changed and the menu was all Cantonese-y, and the food was pretty flavorless. 5 stars for what it used to be, 1.5 stars for now, and I'll round up to 4 stars as my perception of food is different in Cape than it is for food in California. read more
