Good folks here - I felt I was getting the best of care. Nice clean office up in a building with a good view.

Melanie even got my insurance to extend my visits to them when I needed to take time to travel east to visit family.

TLDR: If you're someone who values performance, both on a critical timeline and for the long term,…read moreVita Yee is the first person to turn to for a sports injury. If possible, reach out to her as soon as you can after an injury, because with the early days, she apparently works miracles! Longer version: I am a performing artist, and on opening night, I heard a snap in my leg: I tore the calf. The pain was intense, and worse, I had no idea what was going on, only that I couldn't get any power from that leg. It was by sheer luck that I got in touch with Vita later that night, and by the next day she was working on me. I was completely blown away by the absolute generosity with which she shares her skill. With so much kindness and care, she brought athlete-performance specificity to the physical therapy--and an understanding of dance and its concurrent demands of strength, flexibility, speed, and placement. Her knowledge of sports physiology is impressively comprehensive, and acupuncture is but one of her talents. On the first day, recognizing that this is my livelihood and that sitting around resting was not really an option, she did hands-on work to smooth the muscles, then applied kinesiology tape in a way I couldn't have figured out on my own (and neither could the internet)--the relief was instantaneous. She started me on rehabilitation exercises almost right away, taking into account exactly how the body would compensate (and how I might try to cheat the true path to recovery). For in between sessions, she taught me how to tape the leg, massage out the muscles, use compression socks, when to ice and heat, which exercises to do and how. She maintained the appropriate pace with really specific guidance, for example: Day 0: "No jumping or running, period" Day 2: "No performing that part until you can do 3 sets of 25 relevés" Day 12: "Small double leg jumps are okay, no single leg jumps yet" Just as important as the physical recovery, she helped take away the fear, which was very real. This sense of trust in both her and myself made the acupuncture as easy as going to a spa: 15 minutes of lying cozily under a heat lamp with three tiny needles, reminding the muscles how to work, and afterward feeling as satisfied as if I had been working out. Forever grateful to Vita for enabling me to be back on the stage.

I've been coming to Presidio Sport since May after a nasty knee injury and have been seeing Molly &…read moreLily both for pre-op PT and now for rehabbing post-surgery. Presidio Sport & Medicine came as a non-negotiable from my surgeon (he even messaged the owner during my initial appt to make sure they would fit me in)! This is a well oiled machine, despite always been very busy - everyone from the receptionists to the therapists and trainers are so patient oriented. Each session starts with an assessment of how you're doing and no two sessions are exactly the same. They tailor the treatment to meet you where you are on that day. The care that they provide is unmatched and I feel better informed and treated than I ever have at a PT place before. Even the trainers who walk you through your exercises are awesome and while PT is often uncomfy as you recover from an injury, they make the process that much better. I will have to give a new update once I am fully recovered, but until then you will find me very happily going to Presidio Sport 2x week :)

They all failed to complete my healing and help me find my full mobility again. The last place even just dismissed me at the end, saying that was all that could be done and to just go get a cortisone shot. They were wrong. With the help of Jona, and also Tim, my shoulder is making a full recovery. It's taken over a year this time, but they never gave up on me and my healing. I am already able to be more active, and I will soon be able to participate in activities, like tennis, that I thought were never going to be possible for me again. And, the whole staff is kind and supportive, so that I truly enjoy my weekly visits.

The support and guidance provided was outstanding and I have been able to completely recover and also learn how to manage the issue if it had to re-present itself. Patty, my Therapist, was amazing, patient and kind throughout the process and helped me adjust my therapy based on my time availability and other health related issues, making it easy and simple while very effective. Other staff was also very helpful, kind and efficient. I would definitely return if I shall even have the need again in the future!

Over the years I've had PT for various ailments. Most recently due to back surgery. I requested…read morePT at the Davies campus as it's closer to home. Unfortunately appointments were too far out. I'd been at this Clay St campus next to 2100 Webster St many years back. I asked if appointments were possible. Yes. Unlike some PT places where the PT spends like 10 minutes with you before turning you over to an assistant, I like how the PTs at both CPMC locations are devoted to you the entire session. My PT Susan Y was outstanding. She demonstrated each exercise and even recorded me doing some so I had something to refer back to. As with 21st century technology there's also an app that contains many of the exercises for you to do at home. Susan didn't hesitate to tell me if I was doing an exercise properly or not. She was very encouraging. I'm very pleased with the check in process, the billing process, and overall the great PT I received.

It is great having professionals guide me through the exercises to ensure I am doing them correctly. I am having treatment after having multiple broken ribs and a shoulder injury, so I can safely return to my previous activities and (hopefully) avoid shoulder surgery. I am finding the exercises helpful. My rating is based on my personal progress, which in the end, is the only thing that matters to me. One thing that is not great is that I have had a different therapist every time, so I feel like no one is really tracking me personally -- no continuity of care. Environment. The PT area is a large room with many stations separated by curtains. Each station has a treatment table and a computer workstation for the therapist. The center of the room has a lot of exercise equipment, which I have not yet used. Since we are all in the same room, it can get very loud, and hectic. If you are hearing impaired, it might be difficult to hear your therapist. There are a lot of grumpy people, because basically everybody is in pain. The environment is kind of stressful. I am now going early in the morning, before it gets too crazy. Some tips: the signage is bad - there were no signs telling me where to go. On my first visit, I was not the only one wandering around lost and confused. There were no directions in My Health Online, and the map on the Sutter website is no help. How to get there: PT is in the South Tower, down the hill. Enter through the doors under the South Tower Entrance sign. Go through security, then head to the check in desk (which you must do every time). The PT waiting room is down the hall, to the right. There is a changing room, and a water bottle refill.
