I don't normally write reviews but this place has earned a distinction as the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at. I would avoid eating at any other Chinese restaurant in town as well in the future since there is no way this restaurant would still be in business if the other ones served edible food. The food here is by no means cheap, but the food they served us is more disgusting and less healthy than McDonalds. Our meat dishes were all fried in batter so thick it was hard to tell if there was any meat in there at all. We ordered around 7 dishes and only one was edible. The only edible dish was pure vegetables and the only one where they could not have substituted real ingredients for fried batter and gotten away with it. read more

Due to limited options in this town, we ended up here in Golden Gate, and it was one of the worst decisions I have made in my life. It turned out to be the worst Asian restaurant ever and I cant even believe that its even called a restaurant. Well I understand that its a tiny town but at least serve something edible and fresh. It seemed like everything was cooked a week ago and they just happily heated them up when we arrived. Price is definitely too high for some frozen food we got. I was sorely disappointed with this restaurant. We walked in and had to wait ten minutes for the owner to come out and seat us, even though there was a sign that says please wait to be seated. Then after that we got menus and water pretty quickly but had to wait another 15 minutes for our order to be taken. I would expect that if a restaurant was busy, but there were only three tables of people, so it really was poor service. We ordered our food, the Homemade Chicken Chow Mein and General Tsao's and both were extremely disappointing. My noodles were clearly not homemade, they looked like ramen from any old packet. And the general tsao's wasn't good either. The best thing about this restaurant was the fortune cookie at the end. read more

I recently reviewed the other Chinese restaurant in town, South North, and I'm giving this one three stars. Why? The food in both tastes the same but the prices are higher here. At South North, my lunch specials of chicken with broccoli cost or curry chicken set me back $7.95 plus tax. At Golden Gate, my lunch special of Mongolian beef came to about $10.31 with the tax. And again, like South North, the rice was hard and probably 2 hours old and the meat dish was oily. I'm beginning to notice a trend out here in the Forks hinterlands - stay away from the meat dishes. I did notice that the hot and sour soup served here in town is fairly appetizing. Maybe I'll just still to soups. read more

I was not sure to try this place or not due to such bad reviews in yelp ... But I also read some positive coments and thought yeah !why not just try!. This place is amazing . The waiters were nice and the place was clean. They knew exactly what we wanted when we told them. Their fried rice was very good and the quantity was quite huge. The price was decent and didn't feel over priced . We ordered 2 items and came around 20 dollars with tax ...I am glad I found this place as I know a place where I will get good chinese food on the way to Olympic and will definitely tell my friends about this place too ... read more

Came here before camping at cresent lake, was an oasis. Hot tea with our meal was just perfect. Only didn't like the twilight cut outs when I walked in. With this town though, i'm not surprised. read more

Was in Forks for a whole week. Tried to eat here on three different occasions and was closed even though we visited during posted business hours. There was no sign or anything explaining why it was closed and when it will be open. If you are a small business in a small town you need to be open during your posted hours. All the times we tried to go we found other "customers" also complaining. read more

Then brought out food that was rubbery and extremely salty which made me think it was pre-made and just heated up. Then it cost us $40 for 2 entrees. WAY over priced. Well, after seeing so many 2 stars on this restaurant, I feel it deserves a better rating. The restaurant is very clean, bright, and well decorated with a lot of art work. We ordered three dishes, sautéed green bean, eggplant in garlic sauce, and seafood fried rice. Green bean dish is very delicious, and we cleaned the plate (4.5 star), the fried rice is decent, and we ate almost all of it (4 star) , but the eggplant is a bit too sweet for our taste, so we left half on the plate (3 star). If could, I would like to give this restaurant 3.5 star, not a bad experience, though not a wow experience. read more

I love this place. This is American-Chinese food (believe me, better than authentic). They offer all the classic dishes. The staff are so great. By our second visit, they remembered us and were so fast to bring us the things they knew we'd ask for before we even asked. There was almost no wait. Worst chinese restaurant ever and most items are over priced. We ordered 6 dishes and the 6th never came. However it was priced into our final bill! Read your bill before you pay! $16 seafood veggie was mostly veggie, we counted 4 shrimp and little fake crab meat. Fried rice was dry and salty, noodle soup was a bowl of MSG. Avoid this like a plague , tourists ! Unless you have to stop at Forks for Chinese! The bar and grill down the street is much better read more

This has become our place to eat every time we stay in Forks now. Really good almond fried chicken and sweet and sour pork.

Yikes! Came here based on several positive reviews from other sites, but was highly disappointed. Both of us got combo plates, and though it looked good, the food lacked flavor and seemed carelessly prepared. We started with pot stickers which were overly greasy (fried) with little content. The won ton soup contained one won ton per bowl. When the plates arrived we realized that they mixed up the food choices, so we had to swap one thing from our plates. The chow mein was good, but the chicken and prawns were over breaded and tasteless. The sweet and sour sauce was good, and allowed the fried rice to be tasty. This place has won our hearts over. My fiancé and I had been traveling all day, and we were very much in need of a warm and delicious meal. Not only was our meal spectacular, but the customer service was OUTSTANDING. They met our every need. We got the szechuan chicken, which was full of flavor, perfectly crispy and tender. The wonton soup was traditional, in all the best ways. the spring rolls filled our every desire that spring rolls could. We ate here twice and both times it was quite good. My husband is Chinese so we are used to eating good Chinese food. We found the sauces to be done with a delicate touch. The black bean dishes were done with a nice touch.The food was not oily in any way. Vegetables of bok choy and green beans were very fresh and done nicely. The owner drives to Seattle to get fresh produce. The fried rice had lots of little tasty morsels. The tea was oolong and very good. The inside decor is quite well done for a Chinese restaurant. My only comment would be to spruce things up a bit on the inside and to tidy up the parking lot and front flower bed. read more

This was fairly good food though when we came in after the Forks Demo Derby, there was only one server. It took a long time to place our order, a long time to get our food, and nothing to drink until we asked. The food itself was decent enough and nothing more. We went there after some hiking in Hoh Rainforest. Food was pleasantly tasty and had a good mix of meat and vegetables. Good service also.

The one thing I liked better at this Chinese food restaurant than the other one in town was their soup. I also liked the cleanliness, brightness and overall appearance better than the other restaurant. Interesting to note is that the menus of both places are nearly identical. I prefer the food at the other place...if they could combine the food from the other place, and the location/appearance of this place, and just have ONE better Chinese food restaurant, that'd be fine with me! Despite the negative reviews here, we found the food perfectly fine. Nothing special, but well prepared. We didn't order any dish with meat, though. They also had brown rice, which was a plus.
