Lula kabob

Athletic Armenian family owned restaurant. Gramma is in the back cooking. Food tasted great.

Beef combo

The most delicious and flavorful kebob I've ever had. I usually enjoy the beef or chicken combo - a large portion of meat which includes 2 sides.

Beef plate..over potatoes. Came with beet salad & lemony cabbage salad & grilled Jalapeño plus side of fresh lavash
Sara G.

Stumbled upon them by accident and noticed they have 2 entry points...one to order take out & another for actual dine-in. I chose take out and everything's made fresh to order so it took about 25 minutes. Both plates came with generous amount of fresh lavash, meat, rice/potatoes & they had pre packed salads in case you want to take home more then just the sides. The meat was tender & seasoned well, especially the steak kabobs. The xinkali is huge...i could barely eat 2 pieces. Its $2.50 each. Overall glad i found them. Will definitely order again.

The place feels family owned and operated and the vibe feels like you're going to a family's house for dinner. Everyone that I interacted with here was very kind and friendly. I came here on a weeknight and although the place was slightly busy, I was able to sit right away at a table inside. I'm not too familiar with Armenian food, but I've had some at different restaurants. So of course I ordered the namesake food item. I got a lahmajo with cheese. Great spices and flavors and it didn't feel too heavy. The crust is thin so it wasn't a lot of bread and I was able to eat a good amount. (I took some home for a snack later that evening) I also ordered some soup. Although the lentil soup or the Borsch soup looked amazing, I went with the spas with ishli qufta. Such a savory and delicious soup. With the amount of items on the menu, I definitely would love to visit again soon to try more items There's a parking lot where I was able to park at, but it's kind of small so it could fill up pretty quickly.

I couldn't believe I had found piti in LA, and as soon as I saw it on the menu, I drove straight there! I tried both the lahmacun and the piti, and they were both absolutely delicious. Having piti for the first time in years made me feel so happy. I'll definitely be coming back many more times!

I grabbed an Armenian lunch at the Armenian Lunch Truck with Bret H. and FeiFei J. last week. Bret…read morehad read a glowing profile of the family-owned food truck in Los Angeles Magazine, and it was clear from the steady stream of customers on a very hot Wednesday in the valley that the place does some solid business. I'm surprised it has so few Yelp reviews--the food is extremely delicious, and you should all be eating it. The truck sets up on Sherman Way in front of a giant strip mall (Royal Fresh Market, Dollar Tree, Staples). Look for heavy grill smoke and the colors of the Armenian flag--you really can't miss it. Parking was super easy (yay, giant strip mall) and there was no wait to order. The woman in the truck window was nice and efficient. It took about ten minutes for our food to be ready, and we spent that time idly evading the smoke, which seemed to follow us wherever we walked. It wasn't bad, though, and it smelled fantastic. We took our lunch to go, as it was hot out and there was no seating anyway. I got the chicken kebab plate while Bret and FeiFei got the beef kebab and the pork BBQ. The plates were $17 each and came with rice, lavash, Armenian salad, tzatziki, grilled tomato, grilled jalapeño, and side tubs of a salsa-like spicy tomato sauce and diced onion and cilantro, which felt almost like nods to L.A.'s taco trucks. I loved everything. The kebabs were super flavorful with a wonderfully tender texture, and the pork BBQ was great, crispy cubes of pork belly. The Armenian salad was a fresh, tasty slaw, and I loved the tangy yogurt sauce. The grilled jalapeño was hot hot hot, with very little of it going quite a long way. The rice was fluffy, the lavash soft and supple. Everything went together beautifully. If you're looking for an easy pick-up lunch anywhere near North Hollywood, do yourself a favor and go to the Armenian Lunch Truck. It's a fast, friendly family-run business, and the food is spectacular.

This review is for Gev's khinkali. Wow. First off this location is absolutely stunning, inviting,…read morefunctional, well thought out. The customer service was amazing, I felt supported and welcomed. Now, there is some limited English spoken, but please don't let that be a sign of bad customer service, rather it is just a small language barrier. There's an app by Google called translate and while it's not always 100% accurate it's pretty helpful and easy to use. Armenian and Russian is spoken here and trust me, they are making a genuine effort to speak English. Gev's KHINKALI is simply incredible. I can't wait to share some with my Armenian neighbors. Khinkali is a beloved Georgian (the country not the state) giant dumpling. It's kind of a variation of xiao long bao, the Chinese soup dumpling. Khinkali has its own delicate flavors and I love it boiled for 8-10 minutes, served with a little butter and black pepper. Let it cool for 3 minutes and then go for it. I like to bite a little bit off making sure the soupy inside gets in my mouth and some meat. Hard to only eat one. Gev's Kitchen is ready for you!! Gev's has a freezer waiting for you stocked with tons of frozen khinkali in different flavors ready to be purchased and taken home boiled or fried. $26 before tax for the beef and there are ten giant pieces in the bag. So after tax it's about $3.50 per each dumpling. In my opinion it is so worth it. Even though you can make this at home, it's a rather simple recipe, but to get the dough perfected to this degree is something else. The meat seasoning and quality itself is also perfection. Glad I took a chance and tried Gev's despite the few negative reviews. I will 100% be coming back specifically for the frozen beef khinkali. Parking lot is limited however they have two spots conveniently designated for Gev's. Ps: as someone who is sensitive and who takes customer service to heart, I must say they are very much in tune with making sure everyone is happy. This is top notch service, presentation, experience. You'll never find a place this clean, detailed, professional with such incredible Khinkali. They are smart for offering this incredibly special khinkali in such a convenient manner. Lastly, a kind request to the owners, please, I beg you please try to do your best to not raise the prices. I wish to be a regular and frequent customer but we are on a tight budget as many people are right now. I understand there are bills to pay and greedy landlords to keep up with, but please try your best to accommodate this request, thank you.

Real people don't eat this garbage. Save your money and go somewhere else. Update: The owner's response is just as bad as their food." "Instead of taking responsibility for serving inedible, over-salted, and over-peppered meat for $100, the owner chooses to call me 'petty' and claim I'm 'competition.' I am a paying customer who just wanted a decent dinner, not a business rival. Your inability to handle honest feedback is pathetic. If you spent as much time in the kitchen as you do making up conspiracy theories about your customers, maybe the food wouldn't be so salty. Trust the 1-star reviews--the owner's attitude confirms everything. Update (Response to the liar/manager): "It's pathetic to see the manager and owner publicly lying by claiming I'm 'not a customer' just to protect your fake rating. I have the DoorDash receipt and the transaction record to prove exactly what I bought and when. I will be providing this proof to DoorDash support this evening, along with screenshots of your insults and dishonesty. We'll see who is lying then. Instead of gaslighting customers who complain about your salty, over-peppered food, you should learn some professionalism. You took $100 of my money and then called me a liar--that is a new low for any business in LA."
