Delicious authentic Chinese food! I am Chinese and from CA where we have an abundance of authentic Chinese food. I was craving Chinese food and Golden Dragon was the nearest place to our hotel. I ordered the Singapore Mai Fun (thin rice noodles) and it was the best I ever had! I went here for the first time in a long time last night and had the dinner buffet. I was pleasantly surprised. My daughter and I waited unserved at Agave for 30 minutes, so by the time we arrived we were quite hungry. We were so happy to find all the entrees already available. The egg drop soup, the salmon, the chicken, and the pork fried rice were all great. My very picky daughter tried several items she has never had before and commented how good the whole restaurant smells. The buffet service was excellent. We are excited to return. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE I would sacrifice my first born to eat here. Matter of fact they do allow you to sacrifice your first born the reason I said the first part is because I already did and would do it again. This restaurant is the best thing known to man kind and I would love for everyone to know. This review is for their take out menu. First off. Don't be put off by the fact it's a also a Chinese Buffet, I grabbed the take out menu and was pleasantly surprised with the selection and variety as opposed to our other choices for Chinese take out. The 2 of us grew up on NYC Chinese and so far this is the closest we've come to that good authentic taste. The portions are not skimpy, everything is fresh to order and comes out of the kitchen piping hot. The only reason it's a 4 star from us is the distance since we live in a TINY town but the 20+ minutes is worth it! read more

A OK experience. Ordering takeout for the family. In the time it took me to take the kids through the Carwash, they prepared enough to feed a family of 4 ( entree, white Rice, & lo mein). Nice that they have a alternative to their orange chicken; it's slightly spicy, but the sesame chicken is legit & is great if your kids can't handle any spice at all. Not too much difference in flavors, the flavors are very basic as far as Chinese food goes. But service & pricing are fare. If you want reasonably priced Chinese food this is the place for you. It's nothing fancy but good. We had the buffet today and it was pretty good. Our fist buffet since the start of Covid. The food was all hot and they were always replacing to new food. It was busy but it kept the buffet hot. The workers are all very nice. As far as Asian buffets go, this is on the lower end of the spectrum but is not horrible if you need a fix. Parking is ample as this location is in a mini mall with a grocery store. Pretty basic setting as you enter and are greeted by friendly (usually) staff. Basic decor, tables, and booths. The food is somewhat limited as it's not too big of a space. The basics are there including a couple types of sushi rolls. However, the sushi rolls have been dry and quite evident that they are left over. The food is sometimes warm at best if not cold. But like with any buffet, it matters when you get there (I know, it shouldn't, but it does). I have never ordered off the menu or taken take-out, so I have not input on those options. read more

This is the best Chinese buffet in Waconia!!!! I've been here about 3 times in 10 years and I regret it every time. Now I hope I will remember to stay away. If they tried a little harder this place could be decent. My first time to the buffet last night the mushy stir-fried rice was almost gone, and was looking a little dried out. I had some of a pork dish that wasn't bad. I also had a horrible eggroll that I only had 2 bites. It tasted like it was fried in oil that hadn't been changed in weeks. They have breaded shrimp that are small and labeled fried crab claws or something. They are shrimp! The sushi rolls were comparable to lousy grocery store sushi. I did like the hot and sour soup though, and the jello squares and mandarin oranges were good. I tried the tapioca pudding and I wasn't sure if I had anything in my mouth, that's how tasteless it was. They have some really bad cookies by their ice cream machine, don't try those. They look like the old McDonaldland chocolate chip cookies, but they taste like they were made with rancid shortening. I like the idea of self serve soft serve ice cream, but that didn't taste like much either. Like I wrote above, I wish they would try a little harder, then we could have a decent Chinese buffet in town. It seems like they must get the least expensive of every ingredient they use. read more

Don't waist your money. I have tried this Chinese restaurant twice and both times were equally as bad. Once we dined in and the other time we tried take out with hopes the food would be more fresh. We had to throw the food away after two bites because it was so rancid and we are not picky eaters. I wish someone would have warned us to stay away because it is truly that bad. READ!!!!!.......I hate to write bad reviews about any restaurant but I couldn't let this one pass. One of the cooks was in the restroom urinating at the same time I was in the bathroom. I went up to wash my hands and he came up to wash his hands. He just sprayed a little bit of water on his fingers grabbed a towel and walked out and into the kitchen. I usually love Chinese buffets and I'm a college student who enjoys eating a lot of food. My friends and I went here once and only spent about 10 minutes here. The dinner was not worth the $10.25 charged, more like $6.50 if that. Many of the lunch options were left out for dinner. I wasn't asked if I would like a refill on my hot tea. Got the buffet. At 6 p.m. the food was luke warm, looked unappetizing, and tasted mediocre at best. The staff did not smile and seemed like they hated being there.
