The currently have 5 different menus which always offer a mild, medium and hot main dish choice. We had a couple of beers in two local pubs first (look for those reviews) and then to here for dinner. Its a large place by Indian standards probably about 100 covers or so. We were seated as soon as we arrived which isn't my favourite but they dont really have a bar area to have a drink and check out the menu. The service was good but too quick and that's why they lost a star. Don't take away the papads plate whilst we are still chewing the last bite, don't pounce on me the split second I finish my beer to see if I want another. I'm sure the guys meant well but somebody needs to train them a little better. However they are still 4 stars for an outstanding meal of chicken madras, Lamb masala, dhall, rice and bread. The eat in offer on a Sunday before 6pm is great value: buy one get one free on main courses, and the takeaway menu for two ends up feeding us for two days! The service has always been great: the head waiter is very chatty and remembers us from previous visits. We've also been given extra accompaniments at times too, when we've had to wait a while for takeouts. Shahi tokra lamb is divine and Badshahi Chingri is also a must is you like prawns cooked in their shells. Lamb or chicken tikka afghani is very spicy, but lovely too.

The staff were efficient but a bit hovery and not especially friendly (why are so many places so keen to whisk your plates away before you've finished your last mouthfull??) The number 1 is way up in Barton, but the other was close by in Hutton. So after a couple of pints at the next door Anchor, we went over for our reservation. It took a few minutes to be seated, but in the meantime we got drinks, and even put in our food order. So by the time we got to our table, the pappadums were headed our way. The chutney plate was excellent, but not much difference between the spicy and plain crisps. We also ordered the Saag Paneer and the Caulifower Bahji, both were very good. For our mains we got Chicken Korma and Lamb Tikka Vindaloo. The Korma was nicely sweet and creamy, and the Vindaloo had an excellent slow burn, contrasting each other nicely. We wiped them up with Paswari and Garlic / Coriander Naans which were divine. All and all an excellent dinner.
