Pacing is on the slower end, which was perfect for us, as we were mainly there to catch up, talk, and hang out with the group. Not many other people there at the time we went, so we felt welcome to take our time. As a visitor, it was nice to pop over into Booths right next door as well. I always enjoy strolling through groceries stores in different countries and seeing the local offerings. The waitress advised she would be back to take our order but with no return I attempted to make a food order at the bar only to be told someone will take table side orders... 15 mins later still nobody has come to take our order.... at this point I'm tempted to just leave and take my mother elsewhere for lunch but decide to stand my ground... so 20 mins in to our hour time frame our order has been taken whoo! Not even hungry at this point but like I said standing my ground Overall it's a shame because I'd heard great things about this place but first impressions last and at this point the only thing that's going to save them is the food. I had a craft platter consisting of hallumi fries , butter milk garlic bread and vegetable goyaza with a side salad My mother had the Sunday standard roast beef dinner Okay update... main was 'ok' but I've had better the fries were over oily and couldn't finish the rest of the meal after getting that stodgy feeling we have now hit our hour time frame and still waiting for desert .. The desert was the star of the meal I had the salted caramel pecan brownie and it was melt in the mouth delicious! I actually have no complaints. Would I return? The greeting we had set the tone for the meal I work 17 hour shifts it's rare I eat out and when I do the last thing I want is to feel under pressure and constantly checking the time I want to be able to relax and have a laugh ... the waitress we had was lovely but a little slow on the service. If I had to return I would begrudgingly but it wouldn't be my choice.

I got a Chicken Tikka starter, which is a couple of pieces of chicken on a bed of salad, nobody can say for a minute it takes 30 mins to make that! Negatives out, the rest of the meal was brilliant! The curries were great, my Korma tasted fantastic and matched perfectly with Garlic Na'an, Pilau Rice and as I'm English, some chips (sorry). Menu is vast and has loads and loads of options I've never even heard of before. My friends are more adventurous than me and got personal recommendations from the very knowledgable waiter including a 'wedding curry' which looked and smelt amazing! Decently priced as well I may add, with a starter, full curry with 2 sides and 2 pints of coke (sweet tooth) coming in at £22 for me. A hidden gem in the heart of Darwen, give it a go!

I enjoyed my meal very much when I went to Bombay Balti in January 09…read more The service I received from when I stepped into the restaurant to when I passed the threshold on my exit, was brilliant. It was a quiet night, so I can't comment on whether this is the standard or just that we were only one of a handful of guests that night. The menu was large and had all manner of indian and indian-inspired dishes. The temperature (spicey-ness) ranged from mild to ultra-hot, and all dishes were clearly labelled. Dishes ranged from £6.60 to £12 (for larger platters). The food came quickly after we had ordered, and our plates were cleared politely once we had finished. And once our meal had ended we were presented with complementary shots of Irish Cream. Which is a nice touch after a hot indian curry. For those who want to be silly, there is a small selection of English dishes, but I strongly suggest you should try something new from the plethora of dishes. A final note, the restaurant itself was pleasantly decorated in a modern minimal indian-inspired style, and the bathrooms were clean. And I would come again!

I had always been put off in the past by the somewhat garish exterior but decided to give it a try. On the off chance I rang about seven to see if it was possible to book a table for two for seven thirty. I was answered by a gentleman who took my enquiry and said that they could offer a table for 7:45 if that was ok. From the background noise the restaurant was clearly busy a good sign. We arrived by taxi just before 7:45. The taxi driver had to be told where the restaurant was. On entering we were asked to take a seat whilst another couple who were waiting we're escorted to their table. Soon after we were taken and seated in a nice booth towards the rear of the restaurant. The internal ambience of the restaurant was lovely. We were given plenty of time to choose and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There was a good list of reasonably priced wines around £12 for a bottle . The food when it came was piping hot and exquisitely flavoured. We were offered a break between courses, something I like as I like to give my starter time to settle. The proprietor came over during the evening to introduce himself and explained that they had only been open about two years and now had several regulars. He said that whilst they were still fairly quiet mid week it was advisable to book in advance for weekends. The whole meal took about 2 hours from start to finish and both my wife and I were extremely impressed. The bill including wine and coffees came to just under £50. We will definitely be going back again.
