It was reopened as "Café Shamms" specialising in the all you can eat buffet which can be pretty hit and miss. However Café Shamms seems to get it pretty spot on with a reasonable selection pretty much all the time. I've been in an evening and ordered a la carte and it was really nice but it comes into its own on a lunch time with all you can eat for £4.95. They also do an evening buffet (see their website for details). There's always starters available and at least two choices of curry but not always desert (although always tea and coffee). Everything is prepared fresh and if anything runs out they whip up a fresh batch for you. The guys are nice and friendly and the service is effecient. They get three scores from http://www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk so you can enjoy lunch without worrying about the kitchen! If you like curry and are really hungry of a lunchtime there is no better place in Halifax.

The first time I went there, I took my UK business partner (and good friend) and his wife there for dinner and drinks one night, and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food and service was, especially compared to places where I live in America. Very reasonably priced, too! This place is tops in my book.
