If you don't know what those are, check them out! It seems every month another one of the old school bakeries are closing. Everyone laments, but you need to patronize them. The service is fast and very courteous. The inside is a step into the past when all bakeries were like this, and that's a good thing. The smell, the taste, the very thing you remember. The danish pastries covered with nuts are my downfall. No skimping. This bakery is the real deal.

When any person goes to order a tres leche cake they will never be expecting a dry cake. Completely unheard of. Furthermore if the option was to order a dryer cake or saturated cake, why was that option not told to me when I placed the order? This is news to me. As I can see from previous responses from this business owner they are VERY confrontational which is just unfortunate. Taking criticism as an attack is ridiculous when the criticism is valuable because you can see where you're going wrong and actually fix it!

Too sugary and not refined more for presentation than taste. A lot of cream, sugar, butter, etc. The tastes were more about over whelming you than refined for this price point. The cake felt more like an assembly line product than an artisan creation. Also, very limited selection. I asked for a few standard other variations and was very surprised they did not know what they were for a wanna be French pastry shop. The presentation, box and utilities they provide for birthdays was very nice. It was also very pricey. Overall, mixed feeling. Not sure if I will get another cake from them. It is all about presentation. I recall there being a female manager from the start but now I have noticed a male manager. I believe the pastries have changed when this happened. The fillings in the pastries are more of a whipped cream than a pastry cream to help cut costs. The taste of the pastries and the variety of pastries are no longer exciting and as enjoyable as when it first opened

There is a take-away area at the front where you can purchase breads, arepas, and other easily portable foods, in addition to the tables and seating area in the back of the restaurant. We opted to dine-in for breakfast and try a variety of plates: calentado, arepa con chicharron, morcilla, and bunuelos. The calentado transported me back to Medellin and, honestly, it kept me full for the entire day. The morchilla, arepas, and chicharrones were cooked to perfection and we were provided with a variety of sauces to add an extra boost of flavor. Absolutely everything was delicious and the prices are incredibly reasonable when compared with the other breakfast restaurants in the area. The service was very friendly and attentive. Most of the clients spoke Spanish, including us, but we did hear them speaking English with a few tables that morning.
