I waited 2 years and 4 months to bring to your attention because I knew that you would only offer excuses because that was how you handled the first large crack that I told you about. I also knew that the only remedy would be to completely tear out the new cement, destroying my new backyard, and then pouring concrete again. Another mess to clean up after your crew. These cracks are because Clifford initially placed the footings in the wrong location. He didn't listen to the paying client, and he had to re-position them. Rather than discussing any potential issues that might arise from repositioning them, or properly moving them to prevent this issue, he just moved them. The cracks are a result. I also figured if I have to look at these failures, so should you, and any potential consumer that is shopping for a cement contractor. When these cracks become a tripping hazard, as they quickly are, I will find a professional cement contractor to fix what your company has installed. CONSUMER BEWARE: Upfront friendly, quick response, and competitive pricing...if conflict or issues arise, don't expect resolution, expect excuses. Expect rudeness and unprofessionalism. Once the bill has been paid, you're on your own. This has been my honest experience.

The transparency and honesty was a welcome change from a lot of other landscaping companies. He scheduled the time for when construction was to start and his team came in and worked hard and fast. The concrete and drainage was finished in a week and a half - no waiting for days or weeks around to start work and get the job finished, unlike some other houses we saw in the neighborhood. Our original driveway was severely cracked due to tree root damage and was also collecting water in…read morefront of our garage due to a lack of proper grading and drainage. I reached out to Edwin at Monroe Masonry for a quote and explained the issues we were facing as well as what we were looking for. Edwin provided honest, straight forward advice and solutions and promptly emailed me an estimate and plans for exactly what I was looking for. His pricing was fair and I felt confident in his ability to deliver quality work. Now that everything is done I am completely blown away by the quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail by Edwin and his crew. Edwin went above and beyond, with improvements to our driveway that I didn't even originally ask for. He noticed that the 4x4 support beams for the roof overhang in front of my garage were pretty flimsy and would not withstand the forces of an earthquake well and suggested installed steel plating at the footings of the beams planted in a concrete base (see photos). He also replaced our sewage clean out which stuck out above our brick in front of the house and replaced with with a more modern cover that was flush with the brick. The flooding we were facing in front of the driveway is entirely remedied by the drainage installed with improved grading throughout the 1500sq ft of driveway to a central drain which goes out through our planters to the city street underneath the sidewalk. Edwin handled all the city permitting to deal with the sidewalk demo for us and generally kept us very well informed throughout the entire project. I cannot recommend Edwin and his team enough. Any concrete or masonry jobs I have in the future I will go through him. Working with Monroe Masonry was by far one of the best construction project experiences we have had with any builder we have worked with.
