What happened? Since new management store is unorganized and junky. Most beers with no prices. I'm done here and this was my go to run.

Charges way too much. I will pay less at the supermarket. No need to go to a distributor.

If the former State Store was a dump, this new one is almost Paradise…read more The space is well lit with 15' ceilings, allowing all the glass bottles to sparkle from behind their creative labels. The inventory is definitely focused on wine from around the globe, with enough American vintages to honor most of the west coast vineyards. Not much from the East. That oversight is corrected by their bourbon/whiskey aisle which offers an interesting dive into some of the secondary and tertiary distilling from some of the older and larger southern industrial stills. I was there to restock our supply of Amaretto and sipping bourbon which we had been enjoying at home during this prolonged pandemic. Those Amaretto Sours were a big hit, and Wild Turkey Honey shots were great with hummus, baba ganoush and fava beans. The staff was knowledgeable, masked and they packed everything well. While the choices are not as extensive as the big stores in Jersey (think Joe Canal's), and because it is Pennsylvania, lacks any beer, this Premium Selection Fine Wine house is attractive and much cleaner than the competition on the other side of the Delaware River. Given the choice, cost of fuel and extra time needed for crossing the bridges, this emporium offers a reasonable alternative without leaving town.

Great selection. They had just what we needed for an Aperol spritz. Beer prices looked pretty good…read morecompared to a local beer store.

You have to be a local to know the liquor store is actually inside a McCaffery's grocery store. We…read moredrove around a couple times until we figured it out. The store staff were very nice. The other weird thing was, if you wanted to purchase say tonic water, you have to check out separately in the grocery store, a bit inconvenient!

This "State Store," is actually inside the Shop Rite Supermarket in the commercial center at the…read morecorner of Big Oak Road and Oxford Valley Road. As such, it lacks any curb appeal, and requires entry into the market and a hard left turn to reach the entrance of the liquor department. It is smaller than the more recent LCB retail outlets now found in Newtown, and lacks the attractiveness and consumer friendly signs and layout now available elsewhere. By necessity, the selection is smaller and the experience less enjoyable, so the customer is left without much guidance regarding where to find what she/he is looking for. It is easily a decade or two behind the times. We stopped in to pick up a bottle of Chianti to accompany our Italian dinner in downtown Yardley. We ultimately selected a bottle of Ruffino on sale for about $10. It was fine with both our steak and chicken plates. Still, it would have been much better had we had more choice. In fact, after a solid meal in that famous house on Main Street, we drove to New Jersey to Joe Canal's to purchase sufficient wine to restock our wine cabinet. Now, those folks have the inventory and right prices, especially when we are members of their discount buyers club. This older outlet just can't compete.
