BYOB's are very common place in PA. but usually I know in advance. Once seated I asked to see their wine list and was quickly informed there was none. Oh my, it's Sunday and our server said there is a State Store two doors down, I reminded her that it was Sunday, she assured me they were open. What the hey, not believing her I decided to check it out and sure enough they were open and I bought my bottle of chilled wine. I came home and checked the PLCB's site and there are now 154 Sunday stores open in Pennsylvania from noon until 5:00pm! Yay, PA. is finally growing up! You still will not find wine, beer or spirits in a grocery store or market, the PLCB controls it all except for a few scattered here and there in the big cities. Am I happy and a lush? You betcha!

For one thing, you can find better champagnes and they carry Limoncello. With these shops being run by the PLCB, it still amazes me how the prices can differ from store to store for the same product! The same brands of deli I buy elsewhere smell suspect 2 days after cutting. today I bought 2 shoprite brand frozen pie crusts and I filled them with pot roast and vegetables. I waited for the top to thaw before putting it on my bottom crust. as it thawed it smelled like feet which ruined my meal. food is too expensive for it to spoil so quickly and management should take effort to remedy this problem. The person at customer service today was very understanding and took this very seriously. I unfortunately no longer trust the management to take care of this. I will take my business to the shoprite in langhorne or the wegmans in Yardley from now on as I refuse to risk my health and waste more money buying products that aren't being stored properly.
