Not a very professional job. The shape is bumpy and not all straight. French tips are inconsistent. I got nicked a few times. The acrylic was also cured on my cuticles and over the sides of my finger which I had to peel off. The lady was nice and funny which is why I'm giving 2 star, but she did seem annoyed when I first walked in. If you're too shy to ask for changes, I don't suggest going here. I had a manicure and pedicure. During the 40 minutes I was there the lady spent about 15-20 minutes on 2 phone calls to friends (?) speaking Vietnamese. To me this is RUDE! I was not happy with my manicure. It ended up being bumpy. Will not go there again. read more

Give this place a miss... I called ahead and make appointments for me and my niece to have mani-pedis. We got there early and there was one person working on a client. We acknowledged that we were early and chose our polish colours and waited. We got started on our pedis and another employee came in about 3 minutes before our appt time. We got the soak and nail treatment, sort of. My technician was jumping up answering the phone, apologizing and trying to do my feet. They had other customers come in which seemed to be people who had come in and been told to come back at a certain time. As there were people waiting, the service started to speed up. My technician didn't bother to do anything about my heel calluses and put my polish on unevenly. Because of the rush, I decided to forgo the manicure because I didn't want to have the same treatment on my nails. My niece went ahead with her mani - she is a heavy duty mechanic by trade and had mega greasy dirt under her nails. She was done at the pedi chair, no soak, no cleaning under her nails and a half hearted polish job. She had chosen a clear sparkly polish so she looked like she had a reverse French manicure! read more

I have been to this salon a few times, only trusting them to polish my nails, I do the rest of the pedicure myself. I'm an Aesthetician by trade. This last time I wanted a nail trim, I asked for straight across, with no sharp corners. I don't understand why nail techs can't understand this. She (the owner) used a nail clipper to cut them sideways, leaving them long with sharp corners. When she did the top coat she didn't bring it up to the cuticle area, it left an obvious crooked line of demarcation. Totally sloppy uncaring unprofessional work. Horrible service. Made me feel rushed at the start to pick colours. Also took over 2 hours to do my new full set of acrylics. My friend sitting with me had to do my design because she wasn't experienced enough. Very annoyed. Wouldn't recommend Tammy at Gold Tip. They used dirty tools to clean my nails. The women running the business was on her phone half the time, stressed out paining my whole toe. The staff was rude. It was awful. Then to top it off the accused me of not paying. Tracking me down hours later at dinner with my co workers accusing me of not paying. It was a horrible experience I hope no one has to endure. While on vacation I noticed this nail salon on main street and it looked pretty good! I made an appointment for 4:00pm in the afternoon. Then I wen't to go to a movie, well the movie ended at 3:00 so I thought I might as well pop in and see if they could take me earlier because they were not very busy. They said they could not, which was understandable because I had made my appointment for 4:00. Came back at 4:00 and they place was PACKED I had to wait even though I had made an appointment. When I was finally seated I was asked what I wanted, I said shellac and a few rhinestones please (keep in mind that was $30 for the mani), she says okay and leaves me with a bunch of shellac colours and I chose just a simple white, nothing fancy just white. Well she comes back and says that if i'm doing white I might as well just do the weird dip powder thing that they had. I don't know why colour made a difference. So she gets this powder stuff and starts doing it, she has already put it all on my nails when she says "oh yeah, I'll give you free rhinestones (the two tiny ones I got) but the powder cost $45". I was shocked. She had just upped the price even thought I had not said it was okay! I was kind of angry at that point and in the end the stupid powder looked EXACTLY the same as the freaking shellac! So this lady thought it would be a great idea to rip off and un suspecting customer! I swear it looks exactly like the shellac and took the exact same amount of time yet it cost $15 dollars more and she did not even tell me this until she had already done it! I am giving them 3 stars because in the end it looks good, was it worth so much money, no. read more

Stay away!!! I was there a week ago for a mani pedi, when I came home I checked my bank statement and realized they had charged me twice. I sent them a msg and explained what I just realized had happened together with a screenshot showing the two identical transactions. They have read my msgs and not even bothered to reply. I am so annoyed. I actually tipped them 23 %!! However, to pay $126 for a mani pedi at this place is ridiculous!! So pls, stay away - these people are dishonest!! read more

I had come across this nail salon by accident as the other ones were either closed or required an appointment. I was under a timed schedule and I had let the staff know that I had to be elsewhere within an hour and they assured me that my medi/pedi would take 45 minutes. The pedicure was fantastic; they take time to massage your feet and calves and they did an excellent job. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks me for a good nail salon. read more

I received a coupon as a retirement gift. Unfortunately it was lost in the move. I contacted them to see what could be done as the ladies still had the credit card report to show the purchase. They said sorry no coupon no service. They did however keep the hundred dollars. So...... not impressed. They do not keep track of any prepaid coupons that are purchased. So beware. read more

Don't waste your time, money, or sanity. I started going there in February after getting a gift card for Christmas from my mom(a coworker recommended it). I'd never had nails before so I didn't know what to expect. Six months later, I have absolutely had it and I will not return. My coworker has said the same thing and we both leave the shop absolutely infuriated every time we go. The man who would do my nails was slow, didn't speak good english, and would argue with me about what I should get even though I ALWAYS got acrylic nails, clear long tips in a stiletto shape, and dip powder polish on top. He always wanted to make them shorter than I wanted them, once argued with me that I should have the white tips instead of clear tips because they were stronger, then refused to put color on top. I went in another time requesting someone other than him and got an older lady who was pleasant, I told her I wanted an acrylic fill and dip powder polish, once she had filled them, they looked good and were the right length and shape, she brought over the gel colors, and I said "Oh, no I need dip powder polish." to which she had no idea what dip powder polish was and I was forced to get gel. The next day, every nail was already chipping and I was leaving town the next day, so I had to find a place in Vancouver to fix them. Anyways, nothing but bad experiences here. Booked an appointment the day before for a nail fill and day of appointment asked if I could also get a pedicure . Go to my appointment and see they are backed up but wait and then they tell me to go sit at pedi chair. People are coming in and their are only 3 technicians and they are not turning them away saying come back in 15 minutes yet every chair and nail place is taken . I waited 15 minutes soaking and then the guy comes over and rushes through my pedicure I think total was 20 min if that.I had to ask him to clean my nails better and then he puts the design on my big toes (both facing the same direction) and takes off with no top coat or clean up of nail polish. Lady comes over and finishes it. Next onto the fill. Most went ok until I asked for a bit of nail art. It went downhill from there. Bless his heart he tried and got one side done , but after 3 attempts on the other hand we had to give up and put something else on the other hand . One of their staff had left due to illness that day but instead of not taking every booking that came in called they worked themselves to death with no lunch or break . Ended up being a very stressful time and work was adequate at best. I'm being generous with a 2 as I'm not sure they were paying attention to cleanliness either. I would never go back read more

Wow, a new Nail place in Penticton, this place is great. Have those really nice massage chairs for the pedicures. The pedicure was really well done. I got the right amount of exfoliation, nails trimmed just how I like them (not the nail technician's idea of how I should like them), and the best part, an actual foot and leg massage (not a rush job like they do at the high volume places like Pure). Very well done, I hope they stay in business a long time, I need a steady place in Penticton. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Super traumatizing experience where the lady was stressed and kept answering her phone while doing my nails and flitting between my friends pedicure and my manicure. The nail file was old and the bits from it went onto my nails and she sealed it in with a base coat. Also did not clean under my nails. Once I pointed out the bits she tried to pick it out but then just painted over them. Still did not really clean under my nails. I've gotten my nails done at a lot of places and have never had this happen. She then offered if I wasn't happy to just remove the polish and pay me back as I had paid earlier. I was tempted to say no but she kept offering so I said ok let's do it. Then she left the salon in a hurry after. My friends nails were also ruined but she paid. Then 3 of them STAKED OUT the restaurant that we were going to for dinner to berate us and asked my friend to pay even tho she already did. (She paid the man who came in after who knows what really happened) Then started saying we stole their iPhone charger and started making a scene yelling at me that I just did it for a free service. I would never do such a thing. It was all very unnecessary and not how you run a business. We had to ask them to be escorted out of the restaurant. Go at your own risk. read more

One of the WORST experiences my girlfriends and I have ever had with mani/pedis. My friend got a french pedicure and it was all uneven and bleeding. I swear my 10 year old niece could have done a better job. My manicure was super sloppy and the manicurist got polish all over my skin. When I asked her to clean it, she said that's just my skin. When it was obvious that it was NOT my skin ( who has bright orange skin??), she tried to take a clipper to clip off my skin! I told her to forget it and i ended up having to peel off polish from all my fingers. The place was practically empty and it took forever for me and my 3 friends to get our services complete. They've got to learn to say NO. Almost every time I've gone there they've not honoured the appointment time that I made. I've seen numerous others have their appointments delayed or people made to sit for 30 minutes at the pedicure stations. Others have been left to soak in acetone for 20+ minutes while waiting for them to finish a walk-in client's nails. They always seem to be in a panic as there are often way more clients than personnel to take care of them. It's very disrespectful and discourteous to make a client wait for 30 minutes beyond the promised appointment time. I've been to this salon apx. 10 times and today was the last straw. I was surprised that this salon had a one star rating but not after my recent experience. I'm from out of town and decided to go get a manicure.
