Good selection of toppings, a baked potato is sometimes just what you need on a freezing October night as it was when I succumbed and chucked my tinfoiled sandwiches in the bin. Handily open till 1am every night, they do pizzas here too as you might have guessed and they deliver to the lovely (read lazy) residents of Oldham. I know baked potato might not always be your first choice when you've had a drink but over the years I have whittled my favourites down to a) chips, cheese and gravy when REALLY drunk, b) Cheese on toast at home when middle drunk and c) baked potato at most other times - sober through to tipsy. It just doesn't make me hang my head in shame the next morning.

I've generally found the quality at this particular Nando's to be hit or miss - it isn't the best Nando's in general. Still, it's pretty much the best out of a bad bunch in terms of dining options in Oldham, especially for me as a coeliac. The interior is clean, modern and bright, it hasn't changed much since opening but it still looks presentable. My most recent visit came on the way home from the Airport, I arrived fairly late and close to closing, and after checking, the staff members allowed me to sit down and eat. I went for my usual Nando's order and was able to order and get the food fairly quickly. I did find the food expensive for what it is, as of August 2024, my meal came to £15.20, which I find to be a little expensive for fast casual, and that doesn't include extras such as drinks and Perinaise. The prices also seem to be rising out of control, even in the current climate they seem to be putting their prices up every couple of months, much more frequently than rivals. Despite being a chicken restaurant, they don't offer regular mayonnaise, so you'll have to choose between their vegan alternative or pay extra for their Peri-naise (mayonnaise mixed with peri-peri sauce). My chicken butterfly was cooked fairly well, and the sauce was nice, although the sides were average - the rice didn't fill the bowl and tasted like it'd been left over from earlier on in dinner service, and the peri-salted fries were a little bland, so I'm not sure if they changed the oil recently or just didn't cook them for long enough. 3* - OK, the staff are friendly and the food isn't bad at all, but just could be better.

However, it was clear to see that the chefs were rookies, with very little experience on the grill. I ordered the mushroom and halloumi wrap, something I will always order from there being vegetarian, alongside peri salted chips and a super grain salad. It was fairly quiet when I went to order my food, so was a little surprised it took so long to cook up my dish, around 30 minutes. I then noticed it has been sitting on the food pass for another 10 minutes, evidently getting colder. I tried to grab the attention of a couple of members of staff, being ignored both times. They seemed to be more concerned about gossiping with each other, than helping customers. When it finally arrived, the wrap was stone cold and the chips were just lacking in flavour. The super grain salad was good, definitely something I would order again, just in another branch next time. I did mention the problem to a member of staff, but again, it was clear she didn't have much experience in dealing with customer complaints - proceeding to half-heartedly apologise and tell me I can have another wrap if I was to wait another 20 minutes. At this point, I was ready to leave after spending the best part of £15 on a McDonalds-level meal.
