My Mom stayed at Gold Crest for about two months. The staff was very helpful. They treated her with kindness and dignity. Dr. Shadi Sayegh was very attentive to her. He addressed all her medical issues and checked on her several times after prescribing treatment to see how she was doing. We really appreciated his excellent bedside manner. read more

Fairly new to the place my sister was placed here and in our admission the staff seemed very pleasant and helpful towards all the concerns a family member would have in leaving a love one under their care. On our arrival the nurses and the rest of the staff came in the room and greet you, then they explain to you that they will be performing a through intense check up on the patient, and explain to you as they go with any procedure of what's being done while asking the patient all source of questions of their medical history. The doctor in charge of the floor comes in as well introduces him or her self to the family members and explains a bit of what will take place while the patient is staying there, etc... The physical therapy team comes as well and does their assessment, and explain to the patient what well be in tail of their stay there and what is there goal to help the patient on moving forward. All in all I think its a nice place to see your love ones recuperate and get their independent back again, with the guidance of your family's love and with the mercy of God any person coming into places like this will get better soon. I strongly believe that what will make a patient get better sooner and come out from these places is "FAMILY" not forgetting that you are there and never making you feel like you are ALONE. I honestly could say this because while I worked in these facilities I saw lots of patient not having a sole to come to visit them. And it was very SAD! read more

Gold crest is understaffed. They do not clean the patients enough and shame them when they need to get cleaned. They are rough with the patients, they messed up several of my mom's Dr appointments. The physical therapy was good, but everything else was a mess. Some of the nurses and aides were lovely, but overall it's not good. On discharge day, they didn't order the correct supplies to send my mom home. Do not send a loved one to this place. read more

After two years caring for my mom they dropped the ball on care and she deteriorated. they sent her out for routine treatment and was denied access back goldcrest care. leaving her stranded in a hospital. Now I call and is given a run around for answers. 10/10 do not recommend this facility to any of my family or friends. I put my mothers life in there hands and they failed so now they wipe there hands clean by not allowing her to return. read more

0 star! Do not let your love one in this place! They do not care about the patients. They leave the elderly folks in the hallway unattended for hours. They let patients sit in urine and bm soiled clothing until they are ready to clean them. They are rude to the visitors so imagine how they treat the patients. A lady was in her bathroom naked on the toilet and as I walked by her room she asked me to please close her door. There was a man that was sitting in the hallway in a wheelchair asking for help. He said "Hello" trying to get their attention but no one responded to him. Finally, he let out a blood curdling scream which scared the daylights out of me and yet the staff on the floor totally ignored him. You have been warned. read more

Talking about horrible experiences that tops anyone's list! Well let's just say that this one tops my list. I had my mother transferred there from MSK so I trusted the social workers would find her an adequate place for her short term rehab so I agreed to take her to Gold Crest. When I want so see my jaw dropped on how discussing the room were on the first floor. They had her in a room with three other people that were making noise and she could not relax or sleep. The room was stuffy the A/C was filthy I open to see why the air was so poor and the filter was so dusty that I could not believe it. The separation of the curtain railing was with spider webs I told one of the caretakers about it and she looked surprised I asked them would you want your loved one to be in a dump like this all I got was I understand. Don't get me wrong the 2nd and 3rd floor that I tour with the manager were day and night I said why don't you put her in one of this rooms I was told they are working on it. They offered to put her on the 4th floor that was under construction now you can see the mentality of this place. She stay two nights in this damp and I had her transferred back to the MSK because she was not feeling well and had difficult with breathing. I would not recommend this facility not even to my worst enemy. If they fix and clean this place up maybe it might be okay because of the location and the convenience and perhaps the food that she seem to like. I personally would not eat it. read more

All nursing homes prefer their residents heavily sedated and on wheel chairs. Unfortunately, all residents in nursing homes become wheel chair bound and heavily sedated due to uncaring staff that want to earn their salary talking and barely working. My mother was admitted to Gold Crest with a Dimentia diagnosis and wondering behavior only. Soon after her admission, my mother was misdiagnosed with psychotic behavior to justify giving her psychotic medication against her will and without notifying the family. After addressing the misdiagnosis with consistency, it was removed from her medical record and the medication was discontinued. The wander guard was not functioning for days and my mother almost walked out of the building unsupervised and undetected. She endured different kinds of abuse and neglect. Other residents, were constantly complaining about being abuse and neglected by the staff. My family and I witnessed the staff digging up their nose and playing with their boogers and then continued to deal with the residents and handled their food without washing their hands. The staff was constantly talking and complaining about their jobs instead of attending to the resident's needs. Janitors would wipe their sweaty bodies with napkins infront of the residents and visitors and then continue working without washing their hands. The staff violates resident's Hippa rights by talking about the residents and making fun of them among each other in a loud voice in the presence of other residents and visitors. When I asked to discharged my mother, the supervisor on staff, threatened to maliciously send information to the insurance company to disqualify my mother from ever receiving home care services or be admitted to another nursing home paid by the insurance. In summary, my mother's experience in Gold Crest has been a traumatizing nightmare which I don't wish upon my worst enemy. read more

Why is this place still in business ... Upon arrival to meet a loved one there arriving from the hospital .. When u walk in it looks very nice but don't be deceived!! The website,pictures,and video are all lies!! Anywho I walked in no I'd needed just signed in on a iPad in the front and that's it .. Not very secure as I could be a mass murderer looking for my victim as I walked down the halls I smelled urine threw out the entire facility .. I followed the signs to get to my loved ones room .. Finally after 4 different halls I arrive .. The room smelled like urine .. The sheets were filthy ,toilet was filthy with flys surrounding it , the sink was dirty, saw sum things on the floor I was not pleased with .. Just filthy .. So I'm wondering hmm where is her nurse I asked the lady at the door if the nurse was around she responded she's here sum where what! No way ..as I returned to the room the other patient starts yelling ..a guy in a wheelchair rolls into the room of two women unattended glad I was there what if he had other intentions .. So after 20 mins or so I asked if they were gonna feed her.. The nurse responded yes we have ham and cheese sandwich what ! No way .. She's on a purée diet .. How the hell does that work .. So I asked for the supervisor she comes I say look at this room she says what's wrong ? Wtf no way at this point I'm ready to go ! And take my loved one with me .. Then they send a janitor (male) to half ass clean the floor and room and sink then I said to the other nurse sitting down how do they offer her ham and cheese when she's on a purée diet ... Her response what we'll did they give it to her with an attitude .. I wanted to snatch get across the desk ... If u love ur family or friend you'll find a better place trust me this place isn't it and need to be reported ... Not to mention a doctor and nurse were arrested in 2013 for beating the patient google it !!!! Smh health department helppppppp read more

Yes this place is dirty they are putting me by the door and I'm suppose to be by the window they said they won't have anyone to clean up the by the window until tomorrow that's just nasty. It smells and i said something to the lady that works here about the smell she said she don't smell it i told her she must be use to it. This place looks nothing like the pics they have in the internet. I ask the lady why they have those pics up she said that the way the rooms look on the first floor which is the rehab floor. I said to her I'm here for rehab so why am i not down on that floor. Everything in here is out dated. I refused to stay there i had my daughter come with my wheelchair and take me out of here. I had to sit on the bed they made which was by the door and i started itching, i had the creeps. Food trays was still laying in a corner at 12 midnight when they ate dinner at around 5-6pm why were them trays still in a corner in the hallway. They don't even deserve 1 star the should have a negative number. Even the smoke detector was old and out dated. I got out of there didn't even stay one night there. I notice when i was leaving they moved those food trays they must have heard me say that i was going to take pictures. read more

The facility is modern and very clean, The medical staff here are friendly and knowledgeable. My mom came in for short term rehabilitation here , the physical therapy staff helped mom Come a long way and helped walk again. Doctor pinturo, the attending doctor was great at guiding us. The rooms are up to date, I recommend this place to anyone looking for a place for a loved one read more

Do not bring your loved one here. Don't believe the pictures. The bathrooms are falling apart, things are broken in the rooms, they leave bed ridden people in the bed instead of walking them around, the majority of the nurses and cnas are West Indian. Minus the head nurses and very few CNAs, they're nasty. They rather play on their phones then to actually do their jobs! However I would say stay on top of things and always keep documentation because no one likes to get sued! read more

Getting my loved one placed into a rehab facility was an extremely stressful process and I'm so thankful we were welcomed by Gold Crest. Throughout the stay, I knew I could leave my family member there and feel that they were safe and taken care of. Any issues or questions were addressed immediately and I can't say thank you enough to the amazing staff and nurses. The intense and focused rehab put my mother back on her feet after her stroke allowing for her to have quality life after such a devastating event. Thank you Gold Crest!! My aunt went in to have physical therapy only and left there in a body bag. The best part of this center is the entrance, it was very well kept. The male physical therapist was great and the case worker was wonderful. Aside from the 3 mentioned above, this place is not where you want your loved ones to be cared for at. They are in desperate need of bilingual staff(RN's, CNA, PCA, etc), and they are in desperate need of more staff period. Half the time I couldn't find a nurse or CNA/PCA unless I went around the corner to another area on the floor. If you were lucky and found them at the nurses station, it's as if you were a ghost standing right in front of them. The staff is in serious need of some customer service training, and more compliance training as well. I am an HR professional at a major NYS Hospital and what I encountered almost daily at this facility was heartbreaking. My aunt died at this facility due to the negligence of the staff at this facility. I requested this facility because of the good reviews I read online, but please do your research past the reviews you read online. Legal action pending. My father was a resident at Gold Crest for 2 years until his death in May, 2016. While the nursing staff is adequate, at best, the administrative staff is deplorable. They overcharged and double-billed my father many times. They rarely return phone calls, and when you DO get a staff member on the phone, they are rude, uncaring and exhaustingly unprofessional. They pretend to put their residents' needs ahead of all else, but what they REALLY care about is money. Because of an error on THEIR part, my father was at first denied Medicaid. With false allegations and outright LIES, Gold Crest sued my siblings and I for my father's outstanding charges. This dishonest and unethical litigation went on for 4 years, and only ended when Medicaid realized their oversight and paid Gold Crest in full for my father's outstanding bill. Their treatment of my father from the moment he was mistakenly denied Medicaid, and their nefarious behavior towards me and my brother and sister were inexcusable, intentionally harmful and criminal. I came to this place based on some of the reviews given here...I have to say they must have been paid to do so...this place is horrible. My father has been there for about a week and just yesterday started his rehab. the nurses are so uncaring...I have to constantly remind them to give him pain medication for his hip surgery or his insulin medication! they don't care if he eats. his bed was soiled for hours and it wasn't changed until I came and said something to them! ugh! he was constipated for 4 days and when brought to their attention the supervisor tells me she needs to hear it from the CNA! are you kidding me! smh...I don't understand how they put people like this to work with the elderly! when I went on saturday all the patients were lined up outside my dads room in the hallway...just sitting there...the elderly are like babies and so you have to be patient and loving towards them. I am praying that my dad gets better really soon so we can get him out of there. other places i've wanted to try had mostly bad ratings or they wouldn't take his insurance...so sad how the elderly have to suffer after have given their lives to help others. read more
