I had an extremely disturbing experience at this shop and would strongly caution anyone considering…read morebringing their vehicle here. Especially if you are a female going in alone they think you are going to be dumb. I drove my car into the shop under its own power. The car was running normally, the temperature gauge was normal, and my only concern was a possible minor coolant leak. I was fully capable of driving the vehicle when I arrived. After supposedly performing a pressure test, I was told I needed a water pump, thermostat, coolant replacement/flush, and related work for approximately $2,600. I told them I needed to call my husband and think about it. I stepped outside for roughly 20 minutes to research the price. When I came back and said I was declining the repair and would drive my car home, I was suddenly told I couldn't drive the car anymore because a coolant hose had come off/broken and the coolant had leaked out. What made this especially concerning was that the employee had already shown me the vehicle while discussing the original estimate, and this supposedly broken hose had not been broken at that time. The hose was now cleanly broken at the elbow/connection. I had driven into this shop with a functioning vehicle, yet after declining a $2,600 repair, I was suddenly being told my vehicle was undriveable. They then told me they would take care of the hose if I agreed to the $2,600 repair. When I continued to decline and asked what it would cost simply to replace the hose and coolant so I could leave, I was quoted approximately $400 At that point I no longer felt comfortable allowing them to touch my vehicle, so I called a tow truck. While I was waiting for the truck, they repeatedly tried to convince me to authorize the original work. As the tow truck got closer, the price for the repairs suddenly dropped from approximately $2,600 to $1,600 once I put them on the phone with my husband. I still refused and had the vehicle towed. I asked the tow truck operator to look at the broken hose, and he told me that, in his opinion, which I had already suspected , appeared to have been freshly snapped at the elbow and that he did not see evidence that the hose itself had previously been leaking. I have since contacted two other repair shops about the same repairs, and both estimates were around $1,300, compared with the $2,600 I was originally quoted here. I cannot prove exactly what happened to my hose while my vehicle was in their possession, but I know the condition in which I brought my car there and the condition in which I got it back. And it was not even same condition as when they told me the original quote. I drove into this shop with a running, drivable vehicle and left on a tow truck with a broken coolant hose after declining their $2,600 estimate. The entire sequence of events, especially the newly discovered broken hose after I declined the repair and the price dropping by roughly $1,000 while I waited for a tow truck, left me feeling that I was being pressured and taken advantage of. I would not trust this business with my vehicle again and do not come in here as a lady alone. I ended up paying $100 for a coolant test and left with a broken, undrivable car.

That being said, I have got to let you know that I've never made a review about any sort of service ever and this group of young men that you have working at this location right now today is Monday, April 6, 2026 is hands-down the best team I have ever encountered in my life experience. They were thorough, informative, and educational. And I felt really taken care of which, usually at mechanic places you feel taken advantage of. On top of that which you wouldn't think is such a great thing in a place where men are getting greasy and dirty, they were also well dressed and put together, and you could see that they all had great style and their attitudes and personalities and demeanor were amazing. If I were you, dear managers, I would do whatever it takes to keep this group of people and/or people pretty much near like them ... because of their customer service (seriously all of them, a team consulting each other, and everybody giving opinions and working with each other, which was fantastic.) I wanted to spend my money with you guys. I wanted to have them fix my filter and all these other things that I never pay attention to and I'm always feeling like they're trying to just take my money. Anyways, to the boys over there, thank you so much to you guys. Please keep this crew. It's the best service I've EVER experienced and it's at my local Valvoline. I've never been excited to go get my oil changed again, and I have an appointment to come back to fix some other things that I wasn't even thinking about.

I had to take my car there actually I was towed by AAA and I selected it from The Internet I'm new down here to Florida and I didn't know where to take it besides going to Jaguar and spending hundreds and thousands of dollars. I had the tow truck take my car there and I met the owner who's name is Ken and his assistant Russ and between the two of them my car is purring like a jaguar should he did quite a bit of work on it and I am so pleased with not only his honesty and with his technical care but with his prices. I am forever indebted to Ken and Russ and I will always keep them as my mechanics as long as I'm here in Florida. That's all I have to say I'm happy and that means a lot when you have a car and you are in a place where you don't know anyone. I found a friend in Ken and Atlantic lube express should be your go to place when you need your car your car fixed.

So I went to that place, just because it was the closest and I could use my scooter to get back home. So I asked them to change oil, to fix my tire, to rotate my tire. They said tire rotation is included to oil change (great!), they charged me for fixing tire, and they said they would fill up my liquids (like windshield wash) for free. The price was very reasonable for just oil change, so my thought was just "wow, great" Well, a few hours later I got my car back, happily drove home. On the way home I found that my tire got flat again, and it is the same tire, at the same place as it was before. So they did not fix the tire, they did not rotate tires. I pumped the tire, drove back to the shop, spoke with the manager, his reply: "the guy who takes care of it speaks only creol, there was no one to translate".... Well is it my problem that your personal is not trained (mind you, tire rotation is standard in your oil change service) Ok, I waited another hour, they fixed the tire. They rotated the tires (I had marks on my tires, I know if they were rotated, shame on me I did not check it at the first time). I checked tire pressure, that fixed tire had 48 psi vs nominal 36 psi as in all other tires. And 2 weeks later my "check engine" light turned on. I wonder if they changed oil at all?

I wasn't comfortable spending any more money because the 700 dollars was wasted money since they incorrectly diagnosed the problem The second shop diagnose a MultiAir Variable Timing Actuate. I felt like they threw everything at it in hopes the problem would be fixed. I honestly can't recommend them to anyone. As an elderly person, nearly 70 years old I have to save money to get the needed repairs. Diagnosis incorrect and resultant repairs were unnecessary.

Instead, I didn't get my vehicle back until April 15.. 45 days later. Throughout that time, I was never proactively updated. I constantly had to call or text for updates, where I was given another excuse, or promised pickup date that would come and go. On multiple occasions, my messages were left on read. After I finally got my car back, I had it for only a few weeks before the same problem happened again. I was told to tow it back, and Max again said it would be ready "tomorrow," which it wasn't. After he "fixed" it the second time, two days later my coolant was completely empty again. When I contacted Max, he said "I don't know what's wrong with it." He refused to pay for a tow or rental and instead told me to slowly drive the vehicle to AutoZone with the windows down, buy coolant, refill it, and drive from Miami to Oakland Park. This is extremely unsafe and unacceptable advice for a vehicle that was overheating and losing coolant. Because the problem still wasn't fixed, I got a second opinion. On June 26, another dealership determined that the issue was still related to the engine. Since the engine was under warranty, I was forced to bring it back to Max. I asked Max if he would supply a rental and he responded with "Are you going to help us with labor since we're doing 26 hours of free labor?" The same cycle of delays and broken promises continued. I finally got my vehicle back on August 28 -- 64 days after dropping it off on June 26. This entire ordeal has cost me over $3,000 in rental fees alone, not including towing costs or the countless times I was left on the side of the road dealing with an overheating vehicle. I would not recommend this shop. The owner will tell you "I take care of you" but it's not true. He was dishonest and seemed to have no problem breaking promises and taking money. His own mechanics even told me he's unorganized, doesn't write anything down, and overcommits which is why things take WAY longer than he promises. This experience has cost me an unreasonable amount of time, money, and stress. Please go somewhere else.
