I come here for the desserts, but when my mom came to visit, we came for the food. This is definitely North Indian food, but they have an idli/vada combo on the menu, and it was still really good! My mom had the thali, and really enjoyed it. They do simple counter service, but it's worth it to come for the food. The desserts are always good so take some home!

Chaat was pretty good, I would stay away from the sweets though. Specifically the rasmalia.

We went to have snacks in saturday evening at Gokul Sweets. We ordered Sev puri, Ragda Patties, Dahi Vada and Faluda. Our order came in 5-7 minutes and it was quick. Sev Puri: Sev Puri was the best of the lot and one of the amazing dishes we had in Gokul Sweets. 4/5 Ragda Patties: Ragda Patties was a disappointment and we didnt like its taste. 2/5 Dahi Vada: Dahi Vada was okay but nothing special about that. 3/5 Faluda: Faluda was another disappointment from the last time we came. We loved the faluda last time but this time it was a disappointment. 1/5

5 stars for their sweets. Got the carrot halwa, rasgulla, and jalebi. All very delicious :) 2 stars for the food. First of all their curries don't come with rice and you have to order it separately. Second, I got the paneer tikka masala and there was absolutely no flavor to it. Will come again to try their pani puri though!

Dhai puri (left)- $4.99 and paapdi chat (right)- $4.99 Must try! Think yogurt, sweet chutneys, chickpeas, and crunchy additions

My favorite go-to for Indian street/South Indian food. When I say i get massive cravings for Gokul, I ain't pulling your leg. TLDR: generous portions of food for reasonable prices, large and diverse menu, satisfying food. Vegetarian only. This Gokul is located in a giant plaza with a variety of South Asian stores (grocery stores, clothing, halal meat shop). There's a huge parking deck but it can get pretty busy so be cautious going on weekends! Gokul is usually pretty busy and attracts a bunch of different customers. There's a ton of different food options but my favorite highlights include: -Chole Batura- a GIANT fried bread, with chickpea curry, and pickled vegetables -Paapdi chaat- chickpea curry layered with yogurt, chutneys, and crispy fried squares -Dhai Puri- little fried balls filled with chickpeas, yogurt (dhai), and other toppings -Any and all their dosas- like a very thin savory crepe that's filled with usually potato, served with a thin lentil spicy soup and coconut chutney -Gobi Manchurian- fried and seasoned spicy cauliflower -Mango lassi- mango yogurt drink I always say this is the one place that'll make meat lovers not miss meat! A must try

Authentic and Delicious. I came to Atlanta for few days and wanted to check this place out for their 'Chaat' dishes. Chaat means snacks and in India you will find it all around. They had most of the snacks that you can find all over India. We came here for dinner and tried a few dishes and liked it so much that we came back for lunch and dinner the next day. I wish Knoxville or Nashville had similar places. We also took variety of sweets 'mithai' and no complains there. My wife, Peruvian, loves 'Malai Burdo' and I loved 'Besan laddu'. If you are in town or passing by, make sure to give them a try. Staff was nice and place was clean including the restrooms. They can accommodate not only couples (like us) but also bigger groups.

I am a carnivore and I admit it. However, the pav bhaji I had which is basically a potato based curry served with bread. There's a huge history and background my friends illuminated me to but it was a lot and I was drinking and I had been kicked in the head prior to said explanation (was not related to my drinking though.) Anyway, the bhaji was really good, spiced slightly and I love onions and it's diced, raw onions are served along side it. The Dahi puri was also pretty good, tiny little puff balls filled with potato. I have to say that potatoes are certainly very versatile and I'm pleased to there are similarities between American and Indian fast food. Decor wise, it's very plain, pretty much cafeteria style and it's served as such. I guess presentation matters a little more to me than I thought. The food was good that I think it deserved something more.

You got to order your food up front first, then they will serve it to you.

For my first visit ever, I'd say that this place was great! I tried their paneer masala, bhel puri (which by the way, was one of my favorites), spring dosa and the garlic naan. The bhel puri tasted very nice, it had a fresh sweet taste. Not sure how to describe it. That's the best I could do. Hehe. I am a huge fan of naan.. Any and every kind of naan! Especially when the naan is hot, fresh and very fluffy and soft! Later, I bought some corn flakes (chevda) - $5.99. And I was so glad that they accepted credit cards! I would love to try the other different food next time.

When I was out looking for a drink after dinner, I came across Gokul Sweets and really didn't know it existed. I mean, there's ANOTHER Gokul Sweets location not even a mile away in the Patel Plaza. This location is closer to Cherians. I came on a Thursday evening right before they closed, and man, the colors! There's just so many snacks that range from the hot pink to the bright yellow, and they all catch your eye. My drinks plan went out the window and I decided to start selecting sweets from their displays. Tonight I got: Badam Tarbooz x 1 ($9.99/lb) Pista Barfi x 1 ($7.99/lb) Coconut Barfi x 1 ($7.99/lb) Kaju Pista Katri x 1 ($9.99/lb) Dry fruit milk shake x 1 ($5.50) Running down the list of desserts, the Badam Tarbooz was delicious! It looked like a small little slice of watermelon, and guess what? It TASTES like a little slice of watermelon. I laughed when I bit into it, shared some with my mom and sister, and they both laughed too. It's not at all what you expect, but it's dang good! The Pista (Green color) and Coconut (yellow color) Barfi squares are both very rich, and flavor of both are also really good. The pista is pistachio and the Coconut is, well, coconut. Both have sliced almonds covering them. I think I preferred the coconut one more of these two. The Kaju pista katri is also a pistachio flavored snack that is almost a tiny diamond shaped sandwich. You can peel these apart and eat each individual layer. I think the pistachio flavor here wasn't as pronounced but it also wasn't bad. Still, this was my least favorite snack. The Dry Fruit milk shake was surprisingly really good. Very slightly sweet, and filled with finely chopped nuts including cashew, pistachio and almond as well as spices that made me smile. If you like a sugary sweet drink, this may not be for you, but luckily they have several drinks to choose from. In addition to all the sweets i'm talking about, don't sleep on their actual meals. Gokul sweets throws down with all sorts of traditional indian and not so traditional dishes. I tried none of them this visit, but due tho their tues-thurs specials they mentioned to me, i'll be back to try them. Located off of Dekalb industrial way, right across the street from Waffle house, just before you reach Scott Blvd., it's a small little parking lot but you should be able to find a spot. Getting in and out aren't too bad either. I don't have anything bad to say about Gokul Sweets. I'm just sad that I didn't find it earlier

One of my favorite Indian restaurants! Their saag paneer and paneer tikka masala are some of the most delicious I've had! The mango lassis are also a great choice. Wish their paneers came with rice though.

Gokul Sweets is a vegatarian's heaven. I almost always get the Chaat items like dhai Puri or bhel Puri there. I have been here multiple times. This place is a not a glamorous venue for dates and doesn't have a fancy ambiance. However, they have delicious food for a good price.

Milk cake, jalebe, gulab Jamon and more!!

Best Pani Puri in town. Their chaats and coffee are also great. Been going there for more than 10 years.

There was a cockroach just walking around on the sweets in the case. Raises serious questions about the cleanliness of this place!

A very differently tasting food serving restaurant with all the flavorful North Indian main dishes…read more(Vegetarian only) at a very reasonable price and a pretty good ambience, then this should be the place for you. Would have gone past this building a 100 times and never did I notice this restaurant. Got here because someone recommended and it was very much worth it. Dine in at 7:30 PM was great with very less crown on a Thursday. THE FOOD: We ordered the North Indian Thali (says it's available until 3PM, looks like it's available through the dinner time as well). Was served in a nice Wooden board with Rice, Achar (pickle), Boondhi Raitha, Tandoori Roti (was soo good), Aloo Gobi masala, Shahi Paneer, Chole, Dhal Tadka and Paapad. The Chole was tasing so different and I guess it's the Amritsari Chole. The Shahi Paneer was top notch and Dal tadka as well. AlooGobi was super spicy but the taste was good. The single Roti piece is definitely not enough I feel, and would require another to complete the thali. Slightly pricey there I feel. We also got a AlooTikki Chaat and that tasted really good. The quantity was pretty much good for one person. I would say the spice levels were spot on. Not too much spicy (Honest these days are making it very spicy) or bland. Good quantity and sat well on the tummy. And literally did see a family enjoying their food very much and gave a very nice feeling while we were waiting for our food. SERVICE & AMBIENCE: The ambience was very much nice with all colorful wall paintings and aesthetics and wall hangings. Well lit. But there was some unpleasant smell that was kind of bothering us. I wish they address it. It wasn't crowded and the food arrived in less than 5-10minutes of ordering. The parking could be a concern. The staffs were very much courteous and polite. BOTTOMLINE: If you are in for a slightly Delhi based food flavor, I guess this should be your place. The curries are delicious and the restaurant is family friendly. Slightly pricey in my opinion. Would definitely visit here to try out other things. MY PICKS FOR YOU: North Indian Thali, AlooTikki Chaat, Chole curry
