This is the second time we have been here, hoping that it improved since last December when we were here.
The good and five stars: the desserts! Banana fried with ice cream, apple compote pastry with ice cream, and vegan chocolate flan with almond vegan ice cream... all are amazing!
The not so bad but not great either:
1) Vietnamese vegan roll
2) vegetable tempura with no tempura sauce ( it would have been out of this world with tempura sauce)
3) fish of the day: mahi mahi sashimi today
4) salmon and tuna sashimi ( taste is good, yet fish cuts look macerated and mutilated... very unappetizing to look at).
The not so great;
1) All of the cuts of sushi, whether nigiri or sashimi, looked macerated and mutilated, with poor cuts.
2) the sweet and sour chicken and pork was just awful.
The restaurant looks really cool when you enter and it's exciting, but behind the kitchen counter are local cooks/chefs and I do not see any authentically trained sushi chefs to help guide the staff, so the cuts of fish are absolutely awful and it's clear that the staff does not know how to properly cut fish. It's unfortunate. We plan on coming back to stay at the resort next March and we do not plan on coming here, with the exception of desserts. read more
