The soup was simply delicious with a smooth velvety texture and flavor. The ramen was so good (freshly made every day) in its finest al dente texture with a nice large diameter. Rare in The OC. The rib meat can be removed with chopsticks ! And the most tenderness of protein. The kimchi cabbage and radishes are so delicious. Spicy but not kickass (ok for me) biting into sweetness I've never tasted anywhere in the world that serves K-ramen. Service is most excellent as they immediately greet you, seat you, menu, then, the table top appetizers are served. I believe the owner or chef brought the entrees. That's different! He came out later to see how everything was! As I tried to visit him in the kitchen to compliment, he's gone! Inside has plenty of seating with booths on one side and bench seats on the other with chair seated tables in the middle. Highly recommend this place. Competitively priced. Nothing took away from the experience.

I'm looking forward to returning to order a kalguksu for myself. We went on a weekday for lunch and it was pretty busy. Service was a bit slower than we would have expected, even taking into consideration that it was a weekday. We arrived early before the rush but were still impacted by it before we finished. My friend's soup broth dish really should have come out first but it came long last, we had to ask about it. I suspect they forgot/missed it, though they did not acknowledge it.

Portions are pretty good and there is plenty to share esp if you get one of the big boiling soups of goodness. Tteokbokki was good, not to sweet and not too spicy so hit a good balance. Soju was appropriately priced for the bottle and was a fun little refreshing drink. Now the bingsu, skip it if you can LOL the ice was super super icy like Hawaiian shave ice rather than Korean bingsu. Also felt very melted + iced over so crunchy in an unfortunate way. They also very clearly forgot that we ordered this but were on top of it once we reminded them. Service was friendly and helpful, definitely answered a lot of Qs at other tables when people had Qs about food items, portions, and ingredients. Parking is dicey around here but easy to Uber to/from. Also honestly pretty walkable if you are staying in K-Town. All in all, Anju House absolutely serves its purpose as a solid late night hang, but I wouldn't list it at the top for the beeest Korean food/snacks.

I thought the flavors were nice and the amount of meat was more than expected, which was nice. Would definitely be back! They've mastered the art of keeping Korean flavors while dropping in modern twists that totally elevate every dish. The braised galbi served on a spread of mashed potatoes with various mushrooms is a total masterpiece. The zabuton is also one of my favorites if you like an asado and plenty of garlic. The golden chicken nuggets with seaweed powder on top are so perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. I have to admit the corn cheese egg rolls are probably my favorite thing on the menu, something as simple like a mozzarella stick type of appetizer just really hits it for me. And one of my favorite cocktails of all time. The staff is always so nice every time. They're attentive and honest with us if we are over-ordering. The ambiance is elite, even after renovation. Danbi is an absolute gem in Ktown. It's the perfect spot show off the city to out-of-town guests or for an incredible night out. 10/10 recommend!

I really enjoyed eating it with the radish wrap. It didn't feel greasy at all. Paired with the mandoo guk to take a break from bossam was the best. Service wise, we did hit the button for a server and it took a bit for them to come help us. It was a bit busy and we were in no rush. Service was never that superb here, as the servers always looked busy and they're hard to flag down. Today was a busy night for them as well, we came at peak dinner time, but by 20 mins into our dinner, quite a few tables had cleared up. It seemed like they only had 2 servers on the floor - same ones I see when we come in for lunch. The taller gentleman is usually nicer and more accommodating. For a group of 6 people, we got so little banchan. Usually when I go to a Korean restaurant with more than 5 people, we usually get 2 sets of banchan for each side of the table. With 6 people, 4 guys, we ran out of banchan almost immediately. Some of my friends' water cups stayed empty unless we asked for more. Never once did either of the servers check on our table. Every time we needed something, we had to flag them down or go up to the register to ask. Things we asked for were all reasonable: 1st round: - water refill 2nd round: - water refill - banchan refill - another order of soju - sharing bowls for the soup When the other server had brought over the bowls for the soup, he slid it against my soju cup and it spilled on the table and my lap. He noticed it too even turned around, but didn't offer any napkins. Our water refill, banchan AND the bottle of soju never came. I had to get up and ask for extra napkins to wipe the table/my jeans. My friends went almost the entire meal w.o water - at one point, it was SO hard to find & flag them down. We gave up on trying to get more banchan & soju, finally got water refill at the end, had to flag down for check, had to go up to the register to have them close the check, by this time the restaurant was maybe 50-60% empty. I'm giving them a higher rating because this is still my favorite bossam and doenjjang jjigae. However, very bummed to have experienced such an unpleasant service.

I dropped by for lunch around noon on a Saturday and was so happy to be seated right away. Our party was a table for 5. Although half of our party was running late, the staff allowed us to be seated and didn't rush us to order. It was a refreshing experience, especially in koreatown - and a busy restaurant at that. We ordered the banchan set for 3 and 2 mains - Galbi and corvina. The banchan came with a variety of side dishes - that are refilled if you need more. The galbi was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, while the corvina was equally delicious and a nice addition to the table. Everything tasted fresh, and the portions were incredibly generous. Overall, Borit Gorae continues to deliver on both quality and quantity. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Koreatown, and I'll be back again!

I'm vegetarian, my 3 other friends are all omnivores so we got the set for 3 and then ordered 1 meat dish for them to share and even then there was a CRAZY amt of food. There is such a large variety of banchan + 2 soups (1 soybean paste soup or doenjang jjigae and the other a chicken soup). The banchan tasted fresh, healthy, and delicious overall. You can also ask for rice refills as your meal progresses in case you get low in comparison to the sides. Oh, and I almost forgot, they also gave us jeon/small pancakes which were deeelish. My friends loved their meat dish as well so all in all very happy and absolutely worth the price imo. We were all so stuffed by the end and just as we thought we were done, they gave us two different desserts and I definitely KO'ed on the spot. If you're searching for some of the city's best pork, then those in the know will bring up Ham Ji Park. For 2 decades, generous platters of pork ribs and pork neck stew decked every table. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. Inside, stainless steel chairs are pressed up against wooden tables, each outfitted with a metal grill. Oppressive fluorescent lighting shines down on the stone grey walls, which are left undecorated apart from a few flatscreens. Multi-lingual chatter blends with the sizzle of platters. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.

I'm glad that they didn't charge a lot but gave less ingredients. Braised Short Rib $54- tender, a bit sweet, and be prepared to use your hands to grab the ribs. Prices are a bit high but its big and sharable. And unlimited banchans, although I was a bit sad that they ran out of fish cake.
