Pure nostalgia! On my trip this weekend I saw the Godfather's location and had to stop. The great tasting crust and savory sauce have not changed and they have added chicken to their buffet as well as other items. This lunch brings back great memories and was quite affordable compared to other restaurants. The staff was friendly and the location is very close to the interstate. Thanks, Godfather's, for bring back a wonderful dining memory. read more

Another horrible experience. When you call to order a pizza and it tells you to order online and you do that ... and then you get there and they never bother to print it out to make it and have it ready. An apology would at least be nice. Not sure how they stay in business because of their service. read more

Came in about 1pm today , $17 for buffet, I feel like the food was leftovers the chicken was hard and dry the salad bar was messy and the lettuce was looking old, the dessert pizza was so hard the knife wouldn't even cut it . What has happened this place was so good last time I was there. Also people were yelling to get the employees attention nobody would come out or answer the phone that was ringing off the hook then the music blaring from the kitchen had very bad lyrics with curse words :( however the Diet Coke was good and the pizza slice I had was good read more

Can't really write it because I never could work it . Never really got through on the app online and I tried the website too but couldn't get through and they only over here like right down the street from me which is incredulous, but couldn't get in. Couldn't work the app and couldn't figure out how to order online or by phone so I just decided to go back to my old place Joe's on Jefferson, which is gonna be way cheaper and hopefully way better. If you got friends or family, go in person you might get waited on faster than online or thru the app. read more

On our way from Chicago to StL, we stopped in shortly before the restaurant closed and were treated to freshly made food, excellent service and hospitality. The pizza was hot, flavorful and fresh. And the broasted chicken was made fresh for us, cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. read more

Well, unfortunately I have to give my favorite pizza chain a 1, at least for this location. Usually this location is pretty good, but I made the mistake of ordering a small taco pizza 30 minutes before closing. Huge mistake. They obviously were out of dough and toppings. It was by far the worst godfathers I've ever had. I'm so glad I did not give them a tip for a carryout. We all know everyone wants to receive a tip for everything nowadays I would've kicked myself if I did that. I really couldn't get a picture because it was all lettuce and it looked like a big heap of salad. While I will continue to go to godfathers for pizza. I will probably skip this Location going forward. read more

I was just there last month. It was TERRIBLE! The chicken and pizza were brought out fresh, but everything else was so terribly bad, I don't know where to start. The sides like green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, and gravy were old and room temperature. They weren't even warm! And to be clear, I arrived when the buffet opened. In fact, the staff were late getting the food out, and I and three other tables had to wait 15 minutes after paying and sitting down to start. The salad bar? The dressings had old crusted/gummed dressing all over the sides of the containers. How easy would it have been to put dressing in new containers after refrigerating them from the night before? Most of the containers in the salad bar were nearly empty and, again, were obviously left over from the last buffet. The ice cream machine was broken and made an annoyingly loud humming noise throughout the dining room. There were NO cookies, which used to be warm and gooey. The ONLY dessert on the buffet was pizza dough sprinkled with cinnamon. And yes. It was difficult to chew and over cooked. The carpet in the dining room is black from foot traffic, but worse was the bathroom. One stall had no toilet paper, and the stall doors, sinks, and toilet paper dispensers were smudged with God knows what. I sat at a table looking in the direction of the bathrooms and watched customer after customer come out and go straight to the woman at the front counter to complain. I used to love this location, the food, and the overall experience. I watched as people complained about the sides not being warm, the bathrooms, and the ice cream machine that was broken. The staff blamed the shift before them and said, "I walked into work to find this." They apologized and also told us that the manager went home. To whomever owns this location, I understand that business owners struggle and that good staff can be difficult to obtain or hire. Equiptment breaks down and needs repairs. But, cleanliness and the food not being warm or even placed in fresh containers is laziness. If you care about your business, be present. Show up. Pick up a mop bucket, get in the kitchen, and practice a standard that respects the good people who give you their money. My advice to anyone thinking about eating here - DON'T. It truly is that bad. read more

The 3 guys at the counter took their time finishing a personal conversation before acknowledging I was standing there. I said I wanted buffet and the only response I got was that'll be $14.95. The buffet was as expected (but no more than that). I went back for desert but they were all empty trays. I asked for more to be added and sat back down, but after 10 minutes they still were not out. While looking through the kitchen window I saw the cook with a bag of icing and figured it wouldn't be long now. That's when I saw the cook put the icing bag in his mouth and bite off the corner so it could be used. That's the last thing I saw before I walked/ran out the door. Trust me .... There are far better places to spend your meal money!! read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Horrible would never recommend. Food was trash and way too over crowded. Silverware is VERY dirty. Got punched and jumped by the manager, and they spit on me. read more

Ugh. Never been to a Godfathers before. Went once won't be back. Doughy crust, crappy cheese. Ridiculous price. Wings were basically average at best. read more

Umm, honestly the plates are nasty. I picked up a plate and there was still food on it. Sanitation is not great. Ice cream is not great consistency. Pizza taste like cardboard. Spoons were crusty. don't go to this Godfathers. was just there got punched twice by a person there waiting for their food and the manager did NOTHING had to call the cops but of course they didn't help either. I guess don't go after dark is my advice. someone is going to answer to this. what owners let this behavior carry on? They don't care cause they have people running the place that don't answer the phone just stand around and allow bad behavior happen on their time? dont go to this location past dark is my advice. read more

Waited two hours for delivery. Each time I called, I was told the driver "left two minutes ago". I asked to speak to a manager, and was told "I am the manager. Look, it's Labor Day weekend and we are busy." I'd definitely avoid those place. What kind of a pizza place only has one delivery driver on a Saturday night? read more

Bathrooms kinda gnarly. Some interior issues like ripped booth seats. Nothin special with the overall atmosphere.... They serve alcohol and have free wifi so pluses for that Good side salad for only 3 bucks. Mini sized pizzas are a nice opinion. Taco pizza is awesome. Calzones are huge and pretty darn good. If I'm ever in the area again I just might come back No attitude from the employees, overall a very nice group of people working here. Only reason its 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the general look of the place...definitely time to remodel. read more

We ordered a home delivery chicken pizza couple of weeks ago. Once opened the delivery, we all could smell the raw chicken. Just few days ago, even one of my friend mentioned that he also received a pizza delivery from this very same location with similar kind of smell & taste with his chicken. So, if you happen to order from this location in future, don't get surprised to see your meat not fully cooked. Hope this review helps you make a better decision. Cheers! read more

Look before you pay. Not sure if they were having an off night or what. Not impressed at all. No knives to cut the food with Have ice cream but no spoons and nothing to put the ice cream in. The mac and cheese was extremely dry. No mashed potatoes and the pan that had been used for mashed potatoes was dry and crusty. Ran out of pizzas almost every time they put them out because they were so far behind and they really weren't that busy. No onions on the salad bar either. And we never saw anything put into the dessert area either. They seemed very disorganized and the lady handling the buffet just kept pacing back and forth and not doing anything. We will not be back. read more

The food isn't bad and they were able to accommodate for our large group. I was able to try the famous Springfield horseshoe Sandwich from their Shoe Bar, and really enjoyed it, although it was a bit small and likely not a "true" Shoe. I really wouldn't know, I'm not from around here. I was a bit disappointed in the ice cream, which was of weird consistency and rather hard, and the pizza wasn't the best, but overall not bad. read more

I just call Godfathers to see if they had the 50% off deal still going on. The lady that I talk was rude and told me that they didn't have the deal going. So I ask if they had a pizza and chicken combo , with the same attitude told me that they never have had a deal like that there EVER. Real didnt care that they didnt never had the deal just want to know if there was a deal. So I call the west side Godfathers and they took care of me with no attitude. It's a shame that I have to drive to the west side of town to get good services. It's New Years and I want to have Godfathers and not a attitude. If she dont want to be at work I think you should find someone that wants to be there. Have a nice New Years. read more

I came here with a tour bus full of junior high students. For such an occasion, this is a good place. I wouldn't choose it for a personal night out. They were ready for us having all needed tables set and stocked with pitchers of various sodas and a separate table for the adults. Food available included a salad bar, mac & cheese, various cinnamon roll type breads and of course pizza. All was fine and the staff was friendly and helpful. There was a small separate room for video gambling and they do serve alcohol. read more

After being told by a member of management on a prior occasion that it was okay to eat some chicken with the salad bar, recently when I did so, the owner's daughter(Courtney) suddenly called the police and had them hide out back of the restaurant to send me to jail in case I refused to put the chicken back , which of course I did !!! Never, in all the years that I ate there had I done anything to suggest that I would not comply , or need to have law enforcement brought into the situation !!. SCARY PLACE TO EAT !!! Courtney told me earlier that day when I paid she would not stamp my get a free meal after eating their 12 ticket because they had ''re-thought' their policies, after many years. Naturally, I have re-thought mine about eating there ever again !!!. I insist that was I was a good customer, always polite and did not deserve such treatment. I even pointed out to one of the waitress that I was sorry for eating so much food, who responded 'You're okay, honey', only to have this happen the very next day. I would call this ENTRAPMENT !!! What kind of irrational thinking brought this about ??!? On another occasion, I paid a compliment to a black waitress about her teeth, and one of the cooks later comes out to the bar, sits next to me, props his elbows on the bar and says "Boy, you really puttin' it away !!! I do that too, but WOOOOOWEEE!!", I believe that same cook then started overcooking the chicken !!! Coincidence ? I'm not so sure !!! He knows how to cook chicken !!! If Courtney(owner's daughter), or any other of the staff denies any of this, they are not being truthful, or presenting an accurate representation of what happened. I nervously drank a re-fill of my soda and got out of there !! Has COVID made them change their policies ? I will not trust these people any more. Expect them to deny all of this, but all of this is absolutely true !! It this business tries to get this post removed, it would be one more in a series of lies. read more

WOW !!! Stopped here to get a bite to eat during a 800 miles trip,Both the guy and lady were on the phones and I had to wait a few minutes,But to my surprise the guy said merry Christmas and didn't charge me, he then said "The food is 20 minutes fresh at the buffet help yourself" !!! I will stop by here again next time I drive through Springfield !! read more

Ordered my favorite super taco pizza last night for my birthday. Such a disappointment! Upon delivery, the pizza was ice cold, which is so unusual. Then the way the pizza was sliced was ridiculous! Good value. Especially for the littles! (89 cents per year of age!) Broaster chicken is great. Pizza is nice. Little salad bar helps round it out. Not too pleased. My friend and I came in for lunch/dinner. We told the girl at the counter we were going to eat from the buffet. We wanted to get some of the smores monkey bread. They were out of marshmallows. They could've had someone run out and get more if they were out! So we told her it was fine and decided on the Big Chocolate Chip Cookie -- you know, the one that's served like a pizza and not the dozen in a box. She didn't understand me apparently or know the menu. "Yeah, we have the dozen cookies." We accepted it anyway. Then I had to wait 3 minutes for my change because the girl had to talk to another cashier about adding more change to her register. That was fine, but hand me my change please and exchange later! The buffet was good, but they never refilled the cheese stick platter. Our dozen cookies never came when we were eating. When we were done, we waited about 5 minutes. My friend went up and asked them and the girl brought them out after we asked. "The people in the back forgot about them." Oh really? I'm sorry your conversation was more important than filling an order. Cookies were cold. Horrible service and I am very displeased. read more

My daughter was here on a class trip and was feeling very anxious as she has some pretty serious food aversions. She was hopeful that she would find something on the buffet that she would eat - only to find that wasn't the case. I love Godfather's. I do. At least I did throughout the 1980s and the 90s when I could have it back home. So I tried it in Springfield (via delivery) with a late, late, late delivery, then decided that sometimes delivery times can't be helped, so I ordered again. And it was late again.
