Was able to finally take advantage of my Groupon when coming here for my "intro" class and to also…read moresay that you you can learn a thing or two about wine's here! The location is obscure, probably the best way to put it but don't let looks decieve you, or turn you down from going here, education is key to what they are about and they do it quite well.
I ended up getting my WSET Level 1 here on a Saturday, not really knowing what to expect, but coming out appreciating wine on a different aspect, from the color to the tannins to the regions, to understanding the old variations of wines, to the new ones, you are presented a hands on class to the types of grapes to the region, and what affects a harvest has, let alone an understanding of the fermentation.
There was quite a bit of tasting here on the day of my class, it was a long day to, crammed in 8 hours, like going to work, but it was a good way to learn of the thing I like to do (drink that is). The regular prices are a little high, and if your coming here, try to bring your own glasses, or your going to have to buy some table glasses from them for the tastings. Also, if you are taking the one day class, bring lunch, as there is not much around, unless your willing to walk to go get food.
After I recieved my certificate (yes, they actually grade you, but your test is marked in Europe) I thought that maybe one day I may come back to learn more of the many courses they provide to take more of an appreciation, instead of just drinking whatever, and not knowing how to enjoy. If you ever get a chance to learn about wines, do it, and you will think next time you drink on many things.... even though the end result is still you drinking it up!
