If you enjoy shopping for natural lotions and potions as much as I do, you simply must take Rene's…read moreclasses. Like most women, I've wasted lots of time and money looking everywhere for just the right face and body products, only to be disappointed time and time again. That's when I thought I should just make my own, according to my own specifications. I've looked everywhere for soap and lotion making classes, and none of them appealed to me as much as Rene's because of her high standards of using organic and natural ingredients. After the first class, i was hooked. Why? My own vanity. Rene is the poster child for good skin. She has no makeup on and her skin is so smooth and blemish free! She is her own walking testimonial to the products she creates. When I heard how old Rene is, I knew I had to learn from her as much as possible because she looks over 15 years younger. My favourite products I've learned to make at Soap Making School so far are soaps (of course), butters, lotions, makeup remover, and shampoo. I read a lot about ingredients but Rene has encyclopedic knowledge about numerous ingredients that surpass anyone I've ever met. Needless to say, I've learned a lot from her. In class she is generous, patient, and so kind and sweet even when students mess things up. Even if you can't take her class just yet, I'd recommend signing up for her free newsletters. They are a wealth of information. If you are lucky enough to have the time to take a class, I'd recommend signing up early since I've seen how quickly some of Rene's classes fill up. Rene is one woman soap making empire. Besides all the selfish reasons I signed up for her classes, it's a treat to support small ethically-run businesses.

Classes are small, very hands on and easy to follow. During the 3 hour class we learned about the soap making process, how industry processes soap we see at the grocery stores. By the end of this class, we were able to create a customized 2 pound loaf to take home.

LISTEN TO ME: This place is a complete SCAM! This so-called…read more"master's degree" program only has instructors instead of professors, and none of them are qualified to teach. There is absolutely no instruction in any form of lecture, technology, or intellectual education. The worst part is that the instructors have no knowledge in any of the fields they are teaching; one instructor can't even speak English properly. Moreover, they exploit students in every way-tuition is very expensive, and after the first term, the rest of your education involves doing FREE LABOR for their "clients." You still have to pay full tuition while doing this free labor! Of course, there will be no help or teaching from the instructors-they basically disappear and barely come to school, even though you paid for it! The worst thing is that they not only take students' money but also physically take advantage of them. The staff sees new students every year as fresh meat. There is no shortage of inappropriate relationships between instructor / staff and students; of course, they are all just men trying to taking advantage of female students. Of course, ignore me if you want to be an instructor here. You only need to come to the office for three months a year and get full payment. You get "fresh"foreign students every year and can do whatever you want with them because they are weak, non-English-speaking foreign students who want to immigrate to Canada. The only problem is that the BC PNP program has changed, and this shady place is about to lose all of that. The only reason this program is still alive is that they can give every graduate Canadian PR through the BC immigration program. I hope this place go to soon P.S.: I bit 1000 bucks that they gonna reply to this comment and say "we checked our system and your name has not appeared on the student list" bullshit, who will talk shit about a institution online with their real name? Best regards, A former student (of course I used a new google id that no one will find out lol)
