Fortunately, our Carpet Cleaner alerted me to the fact that my dealing directly with our Insurance on a Claim meant that I better make sure that I was able to identify all of the damage to be included in the Claim. He recommended that I call MONTEREY BAY SOLUTIONS (MBS) in before I went much further. The BEST recommendation I've had in a long time. Monterey Bay Solutions came in, and efficiently used their state-of-the-art Infrared equipment to identify HIDDEN WATER BETWEEN THE WALLS. We knew that the giant PINE TREE branch had fallen through the roof & attic, and was sticking into the Master Bedroom. But, the CAL FIRE firemen were there in minutes,, securing the roof, pulling out the branch sticking through the roof, and otherwise minimizing and capturing the rain water as it came into the bedroom. WHAT WE DID NOT KNOW was that the rain had gone between the walls. So, our timely call to MONTEREY BAY SOLUTIONS saved the day. We would have thought that we were clear of any water issues when the Cal Fire put a 30 gal tub down to catch that water, but Monterey Bay professionally documented all of the hidden water we would not have known was there, growing mold and other problems. MBS provided an exceptional Damage Remediation Plan for our Insurance, complete with INFRARED PHOTOS to document the damage by providing irrefutable proof by the vivid colors which indicated how bad it was. Then, they neatly and professionally cut the drywall open, placed their dryers and their Dehumidifiers near the areas needing to be dried out ! The Tenant told me that they were so effective that his bath towel that had been left in the bathroom shrank into a tiny ball once the moisture was all pulled out. But, the point was that, it is only with those machines that the areas between the walls would ever have dried as quickly as they did. I HATE TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I HAD NOT CALLED MONTEREY BAY SOLUTIONS TO THE RESCUE! Ismael came out the very next morning, ready to prepare a professional plan for our Insurance. If I had signed off on the house being "good as new," I would have regretted it. MBS both dried the damp areas, but they also applied an anti-bacterial product on the wood to make sure our sensitive family members were safe. What began as a simple project just kept growing. We have a 1928 Spanish bungalow that required some major plumbing work. Daniel updated the main, plumbed a bathroom, replaced corroded drains in the second bathroom that were causing major issues (of which we were not aware of and saved us from a HUGE problem in the near future). Some electrical rewiring was updated in the basement. YAY! Within 1 week, the main and most of the plumbing is brand new with quality materials. Our basement is gorgeous! Miguel and Daniel constructed a new ceiling with all the plumbing hidden providing more height (raised the pipes), recessed lighting, additional light switches (modern with a remote), excellent carpentry, crown molding, created a finished storage closet which includes shelves for easy access, a new door jam and door with updated lighting within and added some special touches for ease, convenience and a curved ceiling to match the charm of rest of the house. Hector joined the team to do a detailed paint job. A lovely vinyl floor was placed to finish off the project. There were so many other things done by a professional, remarkable and talented team.
