UFC GYM Midtown - The garbage is so crazy in this place you would think it's intentional

The energy at this gym is one of a kind! This isn't LA fitness or YouFit, the energy here is a "go…read morehard or go home". It's definitely worth the membership. Started coming in August and I truly love this gym, overall it's an amazing, the workers are extremely nice, and management is prompt and efficient with any mechanical issues with the machines. There are two floors to the gym, providing more than enough space and equipment for members. The trainers here top of the line - super enthusiastic and they will motivate you to keep pushing towards your goal. This place is a 1000/10. It really sucks to see the negative reviews because this gym has completely changed post COVID. Take it from me, this gym is not for everybody, but it's great for someone who trains daily, is 100% dedicated to their health and fitness, and/or into kickboxing, mma, or any fighting sport. Howeverrrrrr this isn't a community center (read a comment about not having a pool?) so don't expect it to be. Below are my personal thoughts on the pro and cons about UFC Midtown. Pros: - 24 hours Monday thru Thursday From previous reviews it's seems that wasn't the case. However they are now! Friday they close at 11pm and Saturday and Sunday until 8pm. - Recovery Center They extended their hours! Previously I used the recovery center on the weekends and they would close by 1pm. Now they are open Monday thru Friday from 7am-9pm and Weekends 8am-5pm, allowing people to get the most of their membership when they have recovery included. - Free Parking They changed their parking validation process. Now once you check in to the garage you automatically get two hrs free with the gym. No need to get your parking validated which is so much better tbh! - Guest Pass and Day Pass You can either add it to your membership or pay at the register. (I have it added so I can bring unlimited guests) Cons: - when it's busy it's BUSY. - while the team members do their best to get on top of people, people don't re-rack (if you join please respect gym etiquette and RACK YOUR ISH*)

Scammers, they'll be charging your credit card when you're dead! Stay away! Thief's!! Negative…read morestars!

I am obsessed with working out here!! Love love love The Box and would recommend a boxing class to…read moreany gal or guy of any fitness level. Great cardio and strength workout! The Box is located at the Shoppes at Midtown near Angelina's and SugarCane. Atmosphere: This studio is brand new and outfitted with lockers, changing rooms, immaculate bathrooms and a cool indoor boxing ring. There is also a juice bar, The Juice Box, that sells drinks and smoothies for a post workout treat. The actual boxing studio is a separate dark room with black lights, high ceilings, mirrored walls, and 3 rows of punching bags. Everyone gets their own bag and each bag has a sensor that tracks how many punches you get in and your power. You can see you stats at the end of class to gauge performance. Workout: I've tried class with 3 of the instructors (Angie, Mike, Alvin) and they've all been awesome. Music is blasting, and the instructors explain the punches/combos and walk around offering help where needed. Class is 45 minutes divided in into a couple segments: warmup, shadow boxing, actual boxing on the bag, 5 minute abs and a cool down. There is a clock on the wall that times the different sections, and the class FLIES by! The Box offers classes almost every hour on the hour so it's pretty convenient to find a time to come in. Other: Parking can be difficult. Give yourself 10 minutes to find a spot. Wraps are $6 for purchase and can be reused. Gloves are $3 for rental per class.

I've been to many boxing studios in my day, but this place has become a quick favorite…read more Located in the Shops at Midtown, you can pretty easily find parking in the am but might need a lot spot at night. Give yourself some extra time so you don't miss a single minute of this killer workout. I brought my own wraps and gloves, and would recommend that everyone hits up the "going out of business" sale at Sports Authority to do the same. It's the most economical option if you plan on doing a lot of boxing over time....but I digress. Behind a very clean entrance area and small boxing ring are a wall of lockers. There's a few very clean and modern bathrooms with showers also available, and in general the entire place was immaculate. The class takes place in dark room with rows of bags tied to the ground. There's a few things I love about this setup: 1) you can hardly see yourself which means that nobody else can really see you...aka, no fear of being judged and 2) each bag is equipped with a sensor to keep track of your performance based on the number of punches you land. Being a VERY competitive person, this fueled my fire and motivated me to work even harder in class. I also really liked our teacher, Gab. She made the class super hard but wasn't intimidating or too tough on us. It was just the right amount of encouragement and technical support, and I really enjoyed her class. Overall, this studio, the amenities and teachers give this place an A+. Can't wait to go back!
