Parking is on the street but on a Monday afternoon there was no issue. The inside is clean and beautifully decorated. The perfect place to bring a friend or come solo and do some work. I saw they had a couple games available for guests as well. Jenga and such. I ordered the banana matcha and my mom, the lovers latte. While waiting we were offered a complimentary bowl of soup that was simple but delicious and served piping hot. My matcha was great. At first sip it reminded me of a banana split. Very creamy and flavorful but if you're a true matcha lover there's not much matcha flavor present. I still enjoyed it though and would come back for another one. I would like to try a horchata matcha in the future. Not necessarily on their menu but they have a horchata latte so I think it can be done. The barista was nice. It's definitely a made to order cafe so allow yourself a little extra time when stopping by. We were too busy eating soup and were in no rush so it worked out on this visit.

We decided to take a chance and try it out. Aside from hot and iced coffee, they also offer smoothies. It looks like the normally have dessert, but there was none available when we went. The inside of Rukn is nicely done. It has a nice earthy color palette of brown and green, with some gold accents. There's a reasonable amount of seating with plenty of leather seats, so a little more cozy than a grab & go place. We ordered a iced dark mocha and a cappuccino. At first my wife didn't like the mocha because she didn't taste the coffee, but once she stirred it, then the flavors melded and it was fine. The cappuccino had a nice thick milk foam on top, and the coffee tasted pretty good. Service was so-so. The gentleman took our order and rang the bell when it was ready, but no other conversation. We were the only customers there at the time.

I was still slightly full from lunch, so I had a few bites of the cupcake and took the rest home. This place feels like coffeehouses from decades long gone, well before Starbucks changed the coffee landscape. There are plenty of chairs and seats for comfortable seating. And it may be that I arrived when there was no crowd because service was spot on. Although I took advantage of the good weather to sit outside, I will come here when I want coffee and a relaxed atmosphere without any rush.

This review is for the reserved tea room experience…read more I consider myself a tea connoisseur. A lover of fresh tea and the tea experience. A pinky finger sticking out while slipping on the flavors of comfort. I booked this spot to bring my girlfriend from Antioch, IL. (Wisconsin) Although we talk on the phone, online and text, we haven't seen each other in person in a few years. I've always wanted to do high tea and thought that would be great for us to catch up, since we both enjoy tea. Imagine my surprise when I found a place on the south side and black owned!! I had her bypass the places downtown and come to the south side to experience this place. This place is everything I imagined it to be. The tea selection is great! The service and explanation about the tea is top notch. And our server was 19 years old telling us about the teas! (Thanks Kameryn!!) My only recommendation is to add a thin fresh lemon sliced in a circle and not a wedge. A wedge is too big. That would add to the daintiness. Although I reserved the tea room, the other side of the shop is just as beautiful. I will definitely be back to drink tea and chill on my own! To the owners, THANK YOU! Thank you for adding this place to the south side, so we don't have to go downtown for a superb experience. Thank you for providing a beautiful spot and excellent service!

Good space and neutral color scheme. We ordered a V60 pour-over coffee, a Spanish latte, and a chocolate chip cookie. The V60 was great. I could taste the quality of the coffee and it had no bitterness. This is a good choice for connoisseurs. Please note that it takes several minutes to prepare. My wife said the Spanish latte was good; creamy but strong. The cookie was amazingly chocolatey and came in a cute box. They called it Belgian cookie and it had chocolate chunks rather than chips. Service was excellent and pricing was fair.

The blueberry fruit dessert was good. It wasn't too rich and it had some cake in it. The 966 drink was good. I wished they had their menu on their website. Customer service was friendly and attentive. They definitely need to put some labels and prices in the display case. This is a 4.5.
