They did an absolutely incredible job on our bathroom remodel, and the quality was worth every penny. Lawrence and his crew were fantastic from demo day to the final finishing touches. The tiling and vanity installation look amazing. Lawrence has excellent communication skills and kept everything strictly on track with our contract. Plus, when uncontrollable plan changes popped up, he was incredibly accommodating and offered great solutions. They truly brought our vision to life. Highly recommend, and we will definitely be using them again!

Amazing contractor!!!…read more Lawrence and his crew did a complete renovation of our basement to build an apartment for my parents. From the design through completion, it was a great experience. I found them here on Yelp and I obtained 3 quotes for the job. I had the quotes reviewed by an independent contractor who told me L&R's quote was what the job should reasonably cost. I called 4 references who all had a similar and very positive experience. Lawrence always communicated with me about schedule which had not been the case with other contractors. They were there working on my job every day, not showing up once or twice a week like some others. Any fluctuation to schedule or budget was discussed and agreed upon by both parties. We had a couple of unexpected plumbing delays but that was due to the original build not being up to the current code. I changed direction on a couple of design decisions and Lawrence was right there with me. The work was exceptional and the end product is amazing. I have had the nightmare contractor experience so was very cautious. This was exactly as the process should be and I plan to have them back in the fall to do more work. I give them my highest recommendation!

We converted two rooms plus a hallway into a master suite as well as split two large upstairs rooms into three. We had structural concerns and lots of logistics to work out and I wouldn't trust anyone other than Mike to draw up the plans to make sure everything is safe and up to code. Al oversaw the projects and was in constant communication with us and regularly was on site to make sure everything was going smoothly. If anything wasn't 100% correct or what we had discussed, he would make sure it was remedied. Big shout out to Franz who even showed up to work the day after his wife had a baby! The M3 team worked late days and on weekends (with our consent) to meet their deadlines, even when the county held them up with permitting issues they still worked hard to finish within our timeframe. We even made major changes to our plans after construction had begun and they were able to pivot and help us get more square footage for the upstairs bedrooms. There were also numerous curveballs that they handled with ease (ya never know what you'll get with an old house). This was our first time doing any sort of large project and the team at M3 gave us plenty of guidance and support to make sure the finished product exceeded our expectations. If you want something done right the first time, then I highly recommend contacting M3!! If we stay in this house then you guys won't be done with us yet! -Cristen, Phil and now +2 (!)

I…read morewas on the board at my previous condo for 18 years, I have been on my current condo board for eight years, and Home Perfection Contracting is the best and most professional contractor I have ever worked with. They tore off our old exterior stairs structure and siding, waterproofed the entire wall, and installed new siding and a stairs structure that is far superior to the old one. Their integrity and work quality are off the charts. The owner, Ahmad Khreshi, did thorough research before starting our well-planned project. I was impressed by his knowledge of current construction techniques and dedication to doing the job right. There were several problems that required Ahmad to think outside of the box, one being how to install siding under our existing power lines conduit which was mounted to the exterior wall at six different points. Several times, Ahmad's crew discovered water damage due to poor work by our developer. Ahmad was extremely flexible in adding repair of that damage into his work plan on top of the bid-upon work. Ahmad was kind and fair, listened to our concerns, answered our questions, kept us in the loop, worked with us on timing, and gave us a couple breaks. His crew was extremely professional and respectful, taking off their shoes when they had to come through the building and isolating interior work areas with plastic sheet dividers. When our project was completed, Ahmad send us the following. I've never worked with a contractor who followed up with an offer of help like this: "Remember, you can always reach out with any technical building related questions, in any trades. **Excellent Service from Start to Finish - Highly Recommend!**…read more Malek from Sider Construction exceeded our expectations in every way. After finding him on Yelp (where his stellar reviews caught my attention), he responded promptly with a detailed and fair estimate that gave me confidence in moving forward. One thing that impressed me right from the start was his patience when I needed extra time to coordinate with my tenants' schedules. He was understanding and did not make me feel rushed, which speaks volumes about his customer service approach. Malek delivered more than he promised - showing up precisely on time and maintaining clear communication throughout the project. My tenants were equally impressed. The quality of work was great and completed at a (more than) fair price that reflected true value. It's rare to find a contractor who combines reliability, skill, and genuine professionalism so seamlessly. I wouldn't hesitate to hire Sider Construction again and will definitely be recommending Malek to friends and family. Thank you for making what could have been a stressful project so smooth and positive!

Very disappointing experience, especially given their high rating…read more We signed an agreement with Blue Collar Scholars at the end of June for a new front and back fence and paid several thousand dollars toward the project. We understood that permitting could take time, particularly because our home is in a historic district, and our contract did not guarantee a completion date. My issue is not that the permit has taken time, it is how little they seem to have done during the time they could control. Before hiring them, my wife had already attempted to submit the permit application herself. It took her about two hours to put everything together, and the application was returned because an architectural drawing was required. We gave Blue Collar Scholars all of the paperwork from that attempt when we signed, so they knew exactly what was needed. Yet throughout July, we were repeatedly told they were "gathering documents" and "finalizing" the application. The architect they work with didn't come out to take measurements until August. Since coordinating their architect is within the contractor's control, we cannot understand why this wasn't done in July while they were supposedly "preparing" the permit application. It is now September 29, more than three months after signing and paying the deposit, and we have no fence and no approved permit. We've now been told there were comments on the application and that installation will take another 3-4 weeks AFTER the permit is approved. I don't blame them for DC permitting delays or historic-district requirements. I do blame them for failing to use the time efficiently and for providing vague, noncommittal updates instead of clearly communicating what was actually happening. After more than three months and several thousand dollars paid toward the project, having no fence and no approved permit is an extremely frustrating experience. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Blue Collar Scholars.

In July/August, we experienced a ceiling leak that caused significant damage throughout our home, impacting two bathrooms, the playroom, entryway hallway, and laundry room. After water mitigation and demolition were completed, we were left needing extensive repairs and full remodels of the affected areas. This was our first time dealing with a major home issue, and navigating insurance, contractors, and conflicting opinions felt overwhelming and stressful. I spoke with several contractors and received multiple estimates, but Alan stood out immediately. He was the first to respond and the first to give clear, straightforward, and honest answers. Beyond that, Alan is genuinely such a fun and easygoing person to work with, which made a stressful situation feel much more manageable. He has a great eye for design and prioritizes top-notch materials while still being realistic and respectful of budget.
