Overall, I enjoyed each one. I really like the tortillas, add a little chewy to the bite. Each taco had double tortilla so I was able to pick up and eat them without losing any of the fillings. 1. Pork Belly Taco: so good!!! Great flavor and loved the crunch of the fried shallots. 2. Pork American: my favorite of them all! The pork was moist and the sauce was fabulous!! Just a bit of heat and so much flavor. 3. Chicken Mexican: pretty good. I really really like the chipotle cream. The chicken wasn't as moist as the pork, but still good. 4. Beef Asian: spicy! The smell made my mouth water. The Asian flavor in this taco was so good! The people were friendly, but we limited interaction so I'm sure I didn't get the full experience. Ordered online and waited in car til text told me it was ready. I will definitely eat Boka again!

Very tiny portions, wasn't worth it. Other authentic taco places load up on meat and toppings as well as even sometimes second tortilla for a taco at a fraction of the cost. The food truck options at the event were only three choices...

The brick and mortar also houses RVA Street Foodies around the back, but once you step inside, there are two frozen dessert carts holding the different flavors. We tried the Mango Pina Colada with a strawberry drizzle, and Tie Dye (which is a swirl of lemon, lemon-lime, and blue raspberry). Both were of super generous amount that comes in a cup. I really liked the strawberry drizzle, as it seemed to be made with real strawberry puree; the Mango Pina Colada tasted much better than the Tie Dye, as the Tie Dye seemed to be more lemon-centric. I also thought it would have been more icy, but it was super smooth and sort of overly 'soft,' if that makes any sense! Staff were friendly, and there are about two small 2-seater benches to wait for your dessert and some tables in the back; otherwise, the place seems to be more of a to-go/carry-out place. I'm glad I was able to check this place out. +get the strawberry drizzle +friendly staff +limited seating

Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral (I imagine it is typically here, this was my first year attending). It ran from May 28-31. I think of it as one huge food festival. I had a friend that attending on a Thursday and if you want to avoid lines, this is the move. I was silly and went on a Saturday. My mom and I attended after lunch. While I wish we tried some of the food, the lines were horrendous. The food smells were incredible though. They even had a drive through for the food. It's a free festival to attend. There are various booths with a variety of Greek (and some beyond Greek) foods to get as well as a fun shopping goods corner. I imagine it's similar each year, but outside had tents of food and plenty of seating. Inside the church there was a market place with things like clothes, jewelry, candles, olive oils, and more. It was hot outside so I got a Lemon Ice from kids running a booth nearby. My mom was most excited to see the shows. There was dancing and live music scheduled for 2:30pm that didn't start until about 2:50pm. We thankfully found shaded seats while we waited and had a lot of fun people watching. I am excited to return next year and try to go on a Thursday or Friday so I can try the actual food.

Definitely for the crowd who wants something to do in the city, because they have some performers and alcohol. But outings with a toddler are notoriously short.

Love Simon's A La Cart! First of all, there are two carts of note. One serves hot wraps (red and…read moreblack umbrellas) and another serves cold wraps (tan umbrellas). They are located at the corner of 10th and Cary, outside the Wells Fargo building. Today, I decided to try the cold wrap stand. Normally, there is a good number of people in line, but luckily no one was there today around 12:30! Typically, the stands are there from around 11:30am to 1:30pm, weather permitting. Anyway, I ordered the turkey and tabbouli wrap. You get your choice of wrap flavor - Wheat, tomato, garlic, etc. All wraps cost $7 and come with a bag of chips. The wrap ingredients paired well together and had a nice even taste throughout. This particular wrap came with turkey, tabbouli, onion, lettuce, and banana peppers. I got it without the raw purple onions - I intended on having conversations with people in person soon after eating. You also have a choice of adding ranch or a vinaigrette. I got the ranch, and it was pretty watery once I sat down to eat the wrap. I'm also not sure if it added much flavor, so I may forego it next time. I have also heard the lettuce can get old sometimes, so just be aware. On the other hand, the tabbouli had a nice parsley flavor, and the banana peppers added some crunch and tang. The cold wrap cart's menu has about 8-10 options, the majority of which are vegetarian! So awesome. The people working here are super nice, so I bet they would be willing to make some substitutions or additions at an additional charge to make something like a veggie hummus wrap more filling. I liked that they had two people making wraps at one time, so you won't feel like you are waiting too long. The hot wrap cart's menu is about the same in length but offers more meat options like chicken souvlaki, steak, and pork. I think the piece de resistance of Simon's is the limeade. It is pre-poured into what I think is a 16 oz. cup and has fresh limes and the right amount of carbonation. It is sweet, refreshing, and pairs wonderfully with a freshly-made wrap. Today, there was also an orange limeade option which looked good, so if they offer it again, I may get that next time. Bottom line: Check these carts out! And get the limeade!

Of course everyone has favorites, I never leave without Mama J's southern cooking or Happy Empanada, but I definitely recommend trying at least one new restaurant and meal while you're here. This year I am so glad I tried The Shaved Duck Restaurant's Parisian gnocchi with confit duck. Never something I would have ordered off a menu, but was the best thing I've had in a long time! In addition to three blocks of restaurant booths, there are also a variety of craft vendors, a free phone charging station, two music stages, and usually a few street performers to entertain the crowd. Street parking is free in most areas on Sundays but is extremely limited, so be prepared to walk. The festival is pet and family friendly, but it can get very, very crowded, so leave your giant strollers and anxious pups at home.
