Craving something sweet on our road trip and this was in the direction of where we were driving so…read morewe decided to stop. There is parking area in the back. What we swallowed: *HALO HALO: I savored every bite of this deliciousness. It took a bit longer than the other drinks but it was worth every minute. *STAWBERRY MANGO POPPING BOBA *MANGO AND MANGO POPPING BOBA *STRAWBERRY WITH RAINBOW JELLY My daughters are 9 and 11 and I can tell when we hit up a good boba place when they finish their drinks. We have been to some places where it's either too sweet, too watery or what other non-sense where the drink is messed up. They finished these and asked if we could come back the next day. Enough said. This place rocks!

The place is really cute and the owners were kind. The first time I went there, I tried their taro freeze with taro jelly, which comes in a large size. It's topped with whipped cream. The taro flavour is on the milder side and tasted more milky. The owners were open to suggestions and improving their drinks so I suggested to make the taro flavour a bit more stronger and they were susceptible to the feedback. I was able to try their mango pudding which was really good! It tasted just like the ones you would find at the Chinese restaurant at dim sum. The second time I visited, I got their tofu pudding with ginger syrup which is served warm. The tofu pudding was silky smooth. Would have loved for it to come with more syrup but overall it still tasted great. The owner suggested I try it with coconut milk so he gave me some to add to it and I liked it. It was my first time trying tofu pudding this way. I also got to try the tropical fruit tea which was quite good. I tried it without any sugar adjustments and it is on the sweeter side so I would suggest getting it at probably 70% sugar, but if you prefer it to be sweet than at 100% it's perfect for you. The caramel flan was also really good as well. Overall, I would highly recommend coming to try them out!

While the drinks might not be the most authentic compared to what you'd find in Asia, they're still absolutely delicious, rich in flavour, and super satisfying. Every sip hits the spot... this place will definitely fulfill your bubble tea cravings. I also love how they have such a wide variety of options, toppings, sugar levels, etc. for you to choose from. Also, I have to mention... they were playing My Little Pony on the TV inside when I visited! I have no idea why, but honestly, it just adds to the quirky charm of the place. Totally random, but kind of hilarious. All in all, Khab Tapioca is a great little gem in Winnipeg -- tasty drinks, friendly service, and a fun, cozy vibe that makes you want to come back.

They have a ton of amazing options and fun flavors that capture your attention. Some favorites include Do It For The Yam and Worldwide Handsome! Matcha Smoothie with Tapioca (25% sugar): I don't like my drinks overly sweet and 25% is perfect. The smoothie had a strong tea flavor and was super refreshing. The tapioca peals were made perfectly! Double Happiness with Tapioca (75% sugar): My sister got this one, but it was way to sweet. Even for her, but the lychee jelly made it so worth it! Overall this place is worth fulfilling all of your bubble tea cravings!

I miss coming to these places every so often back home in Toronto, so I'm happy more of these have opened in Winnipeg. Meet Fresh is located at one of the strip malls off Pembina, in the same plaza as Sun Fortune. One could seriously go there after a nice dinner at Sun Fortune for desserts or just to grab bubble tea. I often come here with my roommate, and he's crazy over strawberry drinks overall. He's a huge fan of the strawberry series, and has tried the dirty strawberry drink and the strawberry milk float. He loved them both but liked the milk float more. I've had their fresh milk green tea with boba and their milk tea with taro. I'm not a huge fan of their pearls, they were more mushy than chewy (I like a bit more on the chewy side). I was a bigger fan of The Alley and Coco personally. Large place inside for socializing or working on your laptop, though it was quiet both times I've been here.

The seating here is limited, with only 3 or 4 tables. I have tried the tian bu la, Taiwanese sausage, Taiwanese popcorn chicken with fries and sweet potato fries, Taiwanese fried pork chop rice, and Taiwanese braised minced pork rice, as well as their Calpico (Japanese uncarbonated soft drink) flavoured bubble teas. I would definitely recommend trying out their bubble teas and popcorn chicken. However, the tian bu la and Taiwanese sausage were just so-so, and the rice dishes were not good at all. The fried pork chop was pounded very thin and then deep fried. Imagine it being like the texture of jerky, which is not very pleasant, unless it's supposed to be jerky. The rice itself is also horrible. I could tell that the rice was heated in the microwave, because the rice was still somewhat cold, clumped together and a bit mushy.

The service was extremely slow, despite we were the only table there. Then, when we got the food, it was not worth the wait--it wasn't even worth the drive to the restaurant. The stuffing in the spice wonton soup was not real meat and the meat sauce on rice just tasted off. The sides came with the rice was okay and that was pretty much the only thing I could eat. If you had this and didn't like it, give another Taiwanese restaurant a try as this one doesn't represent good quality twnese food at all. This is definitely not "Taiwan Top 10" T all.
