Did an early-ish meeting (10am lol) on a fine Saturday morning here. I just felt like getting a…read morecrepe and found the place to be very comfortable - especially since we were the only ones there. The menu for crepes was extensive and cute. I liked the different creative names. We ordered the southern comfort and a third wheel, along with two coffees. The service was quick and friendly. They served the crepe in a metal stand. The first bite was crisp and definitely comparable to my all time favourite in Burnaby, BC. I had an ice cream on top of the third wheel (which was Nutella, peanut butter and bananas). Not breakfast material I know but absolutely delicious. I almost wished the crepe was on a plate so that it wasn't as messy (ice cream and crepe bits were falling) but loved it nonetheless! Will be back for sure. Btw there's parking just down be street at osbourne and stradbrook. It's pay parking but well worth it.

This franchise is aesthetically pleasing and caters to vegans as well!…read more I may not be a vegan, but it's nice to see more dessert places catering to their needs. They were open pretty late so you can definitely satisfy your cravings from savoury to sweet! I want to highlight how kind the staff was and their precautions towards allergies. My boyfriend is allergic to all nuts, so during the process of making our crepe they used new kitchen tools to ensure it did not touch any nuts prior. When we received the crepe, they placed it in a holder that kept it up right. This made it much easier to eat. Our crepe: Strawberries, Oreos, condensed milk and vanilla ice cream. I crave this ever since I left...

Surprised to be the first review for 'D Spot Dessert Cafe' as this has been a raving new trendy…read moredessert spot. For a first timer the menu is a little overwhelming as the options range from diner food, multiple dessert options, and hot/cold drinks. That being said, the server was very welcoming but did not offer any suggestions or recommendations to their menu. Apart from that, the ambience is very open and has a very 'retro diner' look with lots of booths. Being a new place there were not many people seated and walk in orders seem to be more preferred. If you are debating on a good and quiet time to go, I had arrived late into the evening at 8 pm and the service was still really prompt. I had ordered the 'Cookie Butter Croffle' and also wanted to try their House brew coffee. I was sharing with a friend and the portion sizing was pretty good for a light bite between the two of us. There were 2 croffles and 1 vanilla ice-cream cup on the side. The croffle was warm and not too sweet when paired with the icecream it was delicious! Almonds and biscoff bits for a nice little crunch and the layers of the croissant were very buttery. Would recommend if you like a lighter dessert as it hit the right spot without making me feel like I'm eating too much sugar. The coffee was straight from the pot and unfortunately did not receive a sleeve for it upon arrival but other than that the coffee was alright. My other friends loved their desserts just like I had and we were overall satisfied with our individual dishes! For a first timer I definitely will be coming back. This place is open late into the evening so if you ever have a late night sweet tooth I would definitely recommend it here as it really hit the spot!

My wife and I preordered the barbecued full rack of ribs to split with a side of sweet potato fries…read more(+$2.00) and Cole slaw. We're pleased Whytewold does not charge extra to split a meal. We're old and just don't eat as much as we used to. The ribs were good, not great. They were a little dry, however, in their favour, they were not slathered with some overpowering barbecue sauce. Fries were good although I can never understand the extra $2.00 charge. Are yams truly that much more costly than potatoes? Cole slaw was fine. I ordered a beer from a very pedestrian menu. My wife wanted iced tea, but Brisk was the only product available. She passed. Very heavy on the sugar. Service was good, although at times, things seemed confused. They may have been short-staffed. Unfortunately, the restaurant had a performer scratching out a few old Johnny Cash tunes. When I go to a restaurant, I go for the food, company and lively conversation. This was nearly impossible as we had to shout at each other to be heard over the music. My recommendation - can the music. It added nothing to the experience. The cost was acceptable. There was value for money. However, the piece de resistance was the banana cream crepe. Absolutely spectacular and worth every cent of the $8.50 price tag. If truth be known, I could have had it for dinner and been satisfied. Delicious If you've not been to the Emporium before, I urge you to give it a try this season.

Great place to go for breakfast. Their crepes are also berry good - both savoury and sweet kinds.read more
