We did Blackbeard's Treasure, and the three of us, my best friend, her husband, and myself were pirates who decided to raid Blackbeard's treasure while he was off doing whatever pirates do. The thing is...we only had an hour before the captain himself came back. This was a challenging room with tons of puzzles to solve. The clues were just challenging enough that we needed to use a few hints, but they weren't so hard that we felt defeated. When we needed clues, the game master was helpful, kind, and had such an awesome sense of humor. He was easy to talk to and approachable. He even showed us his other rooms! And we can't wait to come back and try out Moriarty's next time. If you're looking for a fun escape room that's challenging and run by a really friendly game master, you won't be disappointed!

I wanted to do something different for a birthday activity and Le Smash was the perfect choice. I…read morereally enjoy the concept of the smash rooms and it was totally worth the money. You get to smash TVs, bottles, other electronics, vases, plates, tables, and more. (Note - some of the wine bottles are harder to smash.) The owner is great to work with. We had a party of six and he provided us with baseball bats and a crowbar for smashing. Each of us had our own basket of items that we could smash such as beer bottles, plates, and wine bottles. You could also grab other items inside the room. I recommend this for a fun activity or to relieve stress.

I really appreciate the concept of the smash room and honestly, would do it again. My issue is that…read moreI have paid $963 for a smash session with 5 people. I called in July 18th to make a reservation for a smash party. Booked it for 10 people just to be safe, so I paid the $321. However soon after I hung up the phone I was getting notifications and e-mails from my bank suspecting fraud. I check my account and I was charged the $321 FOUR TIMES. I immediately called back and spoke to the owner who said that something went wrong in her system and she would refund the extra charges. I saw them as pending returns so I assumed that since it was a Friday they would go through by Monday. Nope. They disappeared. For the past few weeks I have called, left a message on the website, and even spoke to the owner on the day of the party. She said she received my message and issued the refunds (again, I assume?). That was July 29th. I had my party, and it was a great time. But again. Almost $1,000 of my own money has been in the pockets of this business since 7/18. It's now 8/8. I still have three charges of $321 on my bank account. So I basically paid for 30 people to have a smash party when I had FIVE. I've held off on writing a Yelp review because I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt but at this point I am over it. The fact that I have to continuously call/message and dispute transaction with my bank to get MY OWN MONEY BACK is so ridiculous. Hoping another smash room opens up in the area because I've given enough money to this business to last a lifetime.

They do have some spare shoes available to rent, if you're not prepared. Staff are friendly & gave us a quick demonstration on how to throw an axe. The kids especially loved the monkey bars, rings, and slide. There were other little ones in there at the same time and there's plenty for little toddlers to do and climb on. We spent about 90 minutes there which flew by as I helped them along different activities. I love having a gym like this so close to us, and it offers different activities than other kids gyms in Omaha. I think they have thought of every detail, including a mother's room, awesome work spaces for parents, snacks available to purchase, and free (good quality) coffee for parents. There are so many cool things for kids to play with: costumes, sensory activities, books, magnatiles, etc. I like that they have a maximum number of kids per session, so it doesn't get too crowded or unsafe. They also leave time between sessions to thoroughly clean. I am so impressed by Playful Pines, and I've recommended it many times since my visit.

I mention that to emphasize: this was our FAVORITE one. Ages of our kiddos - 6, 5, 1. It had something for all three of them to enjoy, but the environment for the parents was the WINNING spectacle for me. You shouldn't expect this to be a spontaneous drop-in, because they do abide by 2-hour play sessions, booked ahead of time... but it is so worth it. The 'crowd' was so manageable - way less chaotic and loud and rambunctious and overstuffed than another play cafe in town. The noises are buffered well by all the soft surfaces, and they had little nursing corners for new mamas and plenty of space for parents to sit and work/chat outside the play space, and IN it if you wanted. The thing that REALLY sold me here was the staff and hospitality. An hour into the play time, one of the young women running the desk actually joined the bigger kids and played alongside them. At some point, a kid fell and bumped his head, and she immediately went and grabbed an ice pack without prompting. They also have a stash of wipes/pull ups/diapers/cream etc just in case you run out while you're on site. Now that is just plain genius. We will happily return. Job well done!
