The training here is so thorough and so consistent that one cannot help having a good experience…read more I've been coming here for years for facials. Even though this is a school and the student estheticians are at different stages of their training, I have always had a satisfying facial.

I have been going to the Institute of Cosmetology, Esthetics & Massage for years for facials,…read morenails and massage and have generally had very positive experiences, which makes this situation especially disappointing. During my last massage appointment in March, the student assigned to me mentioned being exhausted and dealing with a death in the family. I sympathized with her situation, but unfortunately the massage itself involved very little pressure and did not help relieve the tension in my back muscles. When I requested deeper tissue work, she brought out a massage gadget instead of using her hands. I specifically requested a traditional hand massage without gadgets or elbows, but the session still did not feel therapeutic or effective. One concern I have is that the school requires clients to complete feedback forms directly in front of the student, which discourages honest feedback and makes clients uncomfortable expressing concerns openly. After the appointment, I politely informed the front desk that I did not feel I had received much of a massage. I was told someone would contact me. Instead, the only follow-up I received was a call canceling my next appointment, which had been scheduled with a different student. I called back twice afterward and received no response. Today, when I finally spoke with the owner, I was shocked by how condescending and dismissive the conversation became. Instead of listening, she talked over me and lectured me as if I were one of her students, or even worse, a misbehaving child. Rather than listening to a long-time client or offering a simple courtesy massage or any kind of gesture to resolve the issue, she spoke to me in a belittling and reprimanding manner. She even stated that I should be able to afford a $120 massage elsewhere and told me not to return for services. Insult upon insult. Don't ass-u-me a client is "poor" if he or she comes to your school. Without clients, your students could not complete their training. I get regular massages from my massage therapist of 15 years every other week. I came to your school because she is usually overbooked. At no point was I angry or disrespectful. I simply provided honest feedback after years of supporting the business. The experience left me feeling humiliated by a place that is supposed to help people feel relaxed, cared for, and valued. I feel offended and demoralized. There are many schools and businesses that welcome constructive feedback professionally and treat loyal clients with kindness and respect. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect those values. Notice how the owner was quick to reiterate that this is a school, yes, I know. Raising your voice, talking over me and demeaning me solidified this fact in concrete. You were not professional at all. This school is also regulated. As a German, I return to Europe every summer. It seems a trip to visit a dear friend in Zurich is long overdue. Maybe CIDESCO can clarify this incident.

They offer a variety of services, including haircuts, hair coloring, styling, and even nail services, all at affordable prices. The students are professional, eager to learn, and work hard to provide a great experience under supervision. Everyone is full of energy, and they are always hosting themed days and dressing up for special occasions, which creates a fun and welcoming atmosphere. They even have food trucks parked outside uncertain days so you can grab a bite while getting your hair done. If you're looking to refresh your look without spending a fortune, give the students at Paul Mitchell a try you may be pleasantly surprised and won't be disappointed.

He did a great job dying my hair and I think he has a great future as a stylist. Cons: I didn't get exactly what I asked for (I wanted shorter hair, and curtain bangs but my hair was still past my shoulders and no bangs ), but that's on me for not speaking up and of course, these are students. However, I do think this weighs a bit more on the instructors who aren't checking in enough in my opinion. Also, I spent more than I expected; I didn't know there was a charge for blow drying, and I would have opted out if I knew I would be charged $25 for this. I was hoping to spend less coming to a school, but still ended up spending over $100 with the service and tip.

We even asked about those reviews, and they did a great job of downplaying them. Unfortunately, we later learned those concerns were well-founded. This school is unprofessional on so many levels, from cleanliness to the quality of both in-person and online instruction. Whether a school has one student or one hundred, every student deserves equal treatment and support. The student kit was a joke. We were charged $300 and then weeks later stated it was gonna be over $700 for supplies that clearly did not add up to that value. Much of the kit consisted of inexpensive promotional items and freebies seemingly included to justify the cost. Even worse, my daughter never received all of the training items we paid for. The online hour-tracking system was also completely inadequate. There appeared to be no reliable way for the school to accurately track student attendance beyond logging in and out. The school never provided proof or documentation of my daughter's in-person hours or online hours. Yet, when she was preparing to complete the program, we were suddenly told she did not have enough hours and could not continue unless we paid an additional $750 to complete just 23 hours. They currently have my daughter's hours LOCKED due to none payment which is inaccurate. This was after already paying approximately $5800 for the program, not including the numerous "extra fees" that are conveniently excluded from the advertised tuition amount. Students and parents should also be aware that there have been ongoing concerns regarding the ownership and operation of this school, including allegations of repeatedly opening and closing businesses under different names. Additionally, we've heard multiple reports of students completing the program and then waiting months to receive their certificate of completion, delaying their ability to move forward with state licensing. This beauty school has been a complete nightmare. I would never recommend it to anyone and would not wish this experience on another student or family.
