And yes, you pay for the quality. But did you know they also have awesome sales? I mean really incredible 50% off sales on highly desirable items! I'm on the mailing list for their weekly ads and when items I love - but don't buy often because of the price - go on sale for 50% off, I stock up. For example, this week all nutritional and protein bars are 50% off. That is a stellar sale since we all know that protein bars are at a premium everywhere. Their sale includes single bars - a great way to try first to see if you like the taste and texture - and on boxes. I'm a huge fan of RX Bars that have just three ingredients, getting their protein from egg whites and sometimes nuts. Typically $12.40 for a box of 5, the on sale price of $6.19 is a steal and a reason to buy several. Throughout the year they have 50% of Rao sauces, the best jar sauce in the market. Also sales on vitamins and lotions. Oh, and around February, 50% off chocolates including the high end brands. So while I shop there regularly for the high quality fish, meat and vibrant produce, I will make a special trip to stock up on my favorite items when the price is slashed in half.

Those Noodles and how they make them there are TOP NOTCH! I LOVE THEM! I mean I could marry them they are so good! There are so many pluses here and glad to have this in Concordia. The store has many great deals and good sales on things, but I have to urge you thats its a good idea to not sit in the eatery area that they just remodeled to make more open. The coffee stand there does okay, but is fantastic when this tall guy is there with a beard. But I have not seen him in a while. So the coffee drinks are okay, and vary from day to day. The Brewed coffee is good however. There is one thing I despise about this location, and its the amount of "extra Helpers" that seem to be right there waiting for you as you walk in. The Tamale lady outside is fine. What I find very uncomfortable is all the people that go there to bum money or always seem to want to ask you a question. The worst part? Some of them come into the area that use to be amazing to sit there, and honest to Abe, they smell worse then walking by the dumpsters. It's got better over the last year, but I noticed a real weird vibe today as I walked in and the large man who looks like a greeter seems to be blocking the entrance way into the store. It's starting to feel like Walmart or Fred Meyers where they have gates to go in and out of the store. Friendly? , I don't think so captain. Stark change from before, but it seems like this is needed more and more today as stores have to beef up security. I understand that there is not much New Season can do about this thanks to local politics in the area, but I WISH this was not the case as I use to enjoy going there for breakfast and coffee. Hopefully, things gets better in 2025.

For some reason I still didn't shop there. As a child I grew up with a single mom who relished grocery shopping. We had no money however she would always take me to different grocery stores and make it really fun. That shopping experience stayed with me as I LOVE checking out all the different natural food stores. Last night I was passing by Food Fight and on a pure whim I stopped in to check out their cheese. My mind was blown. There are newer owners that took over the store during the pandemic. They are the NICEST PEOPLE!!!!!!! Also after browsing for a few moments in the very nicely lit evening hours it occurred to me that these folks are very passionate vegan foodies I asked them about various items and got excellent suggestions. Their inventory is outstanding. They have a deli case next to the register with ON SITE homemade wraps, cake slices, ect ALSO incredible creamy soft serve ice cream and made to order CUSTOM personal pizzas ! So yep I'm definitely hooked and so very excited as I live pretty close. These folks will be getting a ton of business from me THANK YOU FOOD FIGHT!!!!

I was very disappointed and frustrated by my visit to Natural Grocers. The store is small,…read morecramped, and, with one exception, full of indifferent and unhelpful employees. I stopped in to see if I could find coarsely-ground cornmeal, which is all but impossible to find pretty much everywhere. Although there were many employees on the floor, most were found in pairs, each engaged in a personal gossip session with all sorts of inappropriate details being shared and discussed. Eye contact and asking for help quite literally went ignored (in case you're wondering, each was wearing a "Natural Grocers" apron, so I know for sure they were employees). I also encountered two completely blocked aisles, with the blockages being caused by employees who were actually working. In each case, employees were stocking shelves from a cart they'd placed right in the middle of the aisle thereby preventing anybody with a cart from being able to move through the aisle. Natural Grocers does have a good selection of vegan items and surprisingly low prices on them (lower than any place else I've ever checked), and the cashier was very helpful, friendly, and cheerful. These are the only reasons for one star higher than the minimum. I'm sure that Natural Grocers can do better, but I'm not sure that I'd like to return to find out if they eventually do.

Since it was my first time, I didn't become a member, just wandered about to see what they carry. In support of sustainability and buying just what you need, they have bulk grains, nuts, seeds, and spices. Produce, milk, eggs, cheese, cereals, healthier versions of packaged mac&cheese, rice and noodle dishes, and other pantry items. They don't sell meat Since they are a vegetarian and vegan market. Specifically, I was looking for puffed quinoa, but they did not carry it. No one seems to! On this day, the adjacent parking lot was in use by their Wednesday Farmer's Market. It was easy to find parking on the street.

I lived walking distance from People's Co-op circa 2004 where I lived right across from the now defunct all vegan coffeeshop aka Red and Black. In 2004-2005 I was a working member cleaning the bulk bins as my seva aka service. This is where I first started teaching yoga at the community room upstairs at People's Co-op. Dusty started the program that sadly is no longer currently active. They had some great classes there and have fond memories of a Iyenger influenced yoga teacher that taught classes I liked. This was when I was teaching classical hatha yoga and had not yet shifted my yoga teaching to the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition. Fast forward to the moment of Jun 20223. It's the return and went to People's Co-op. It still is an amazing place. They have a farmer's market here every Wed. Their bulk selection is amazing (see my photos) and so is there produce. Friendly and helpful staff. Afterwards go to Belmont for heaps of plant based, vegetable forward, tasty, amazing vegan restaurants and food trucks that are amazing. Vegan bars, vegan food trucks, innovative vegan restaurants like Fermenter, and more that will satisfy all folks who follow whatever diet from vegan to paleo to gluten-free to omnivore.
