I want to shout from the rooftops how fantastic her work is!! Do yourselves a favor: stop opening tabs and tabs of photographers (we all do it) and spend time on Lilly's site getting to know her work. We were particularly drawn to her photojournalistic, candid, raw, magical style. In the interest of time, here are our top 3 reasons for why Lilly was the right choice for us: - Quality of product: Our jaws fell to the floor when we saw our engagement photos. She captured the funny moments, the romantic moments, and above all, our personalities. I don't know how she does it, but she knocked it out of the park. We did our session at a location she'd never been to, and where I spent every day of my childhood. She was still able to capture everything perfectly, like she'd known the place for years. - Transparency: her pricing is very straight forward, extremely fair, and her response time is quick. No complicated add-ons, things we didn't need, no haggling required, etc. - Personality: We "met" via Facetime before signing the contract, and it felt like meeting an old friend. His portfolio of work is phenomenal! He has engagement pictures from all over the bay area and even some that are under water. His pictures from the ceremony's capture the emotion that the bride and groom felt at the time. He is willing to work with special requests and in my opinion is the most dedicated photographer I have ever met. He drove from San Francisco to Chicago after 9/11 to make it to a wedding. We interviewed thirty five (35) photographers in all. Before we went with Nick we asked to see his before and after pictures. He listened to everything that we are looking for in a photographer and was more then willing to meet them. Maq is extremely passionate about his work, he really cares about getting the best out of the photographs he takes. I had reviewed the wedding albums of a couple of friends he had done, so I was aware of the quality of his work. What I did not expect was getting a photographer who is friendly and full of energy! Maqsood was able to entertain us and guests when taking pictures, and was even willing to help with crowd control during wedding events! They guy even does magic tricks and jokes (heavy on the cheese with the jokes!). Maqsood's wife, Kavita, is also a great photographer. She has a keen attention to detail and was instrumental during our portrait shots. She recommended poses that we thought would look weird, but they turned out looking awesome in print. She also was able to suggest what colors to wear that improve the quality of our shots. In addition she is a whiz at Photoshop, so she and Maqsood are able to put together some very creative collage shots Maqsood also threw in some surprises in our prints, he gave us some free metallic paper prints because they thought the pictures turned out so well. If that doesn't speak to the type of guy Maqsood is, I don't know what will. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

There are so many great photographers out there to choose from, but what sets Jen apart is her attention to detail, thoroughness, creativity, and willingness to make sure I was 100% happy with my pictures in the end. We were able to get copies of all our pictures, which I also appreciated as many photographers will only allow you to pick a certain number. Furthermore...when I lost my pictures in a tragic computer malfunction, I emailed Jen...and this is now many years later! And within hours she emailed me back and said, "No worries! We engaged Joey to take photos of us enjoying the outdoors together. He suggested Rodeo Beach, one of our favorites! Joey scouted out several perfect locations before we arrived. He met us at 5:00, when the evening sun would be soft. During the photo shoot, he made us laugh to help us be "natural," even though he was recording what we did. Joey took photos of us walking on the beach, sitting on a bluff looking out over the ocean, hiking through flowers - the list goes on. We are thrilled with the variety and quality of our photos!

There are only so many pictures a parent can take of the back of their kid's head before she…read morerealizes that it's time to call in a professional. In our case, we even have excellent photographers and fancy cameras in the family, but capturing our 1-year old as anything but a blur and getting a picture of all three of us together was next to impossible. I had been keeping tabs on Joey's work for some time and when we were ready, I went through his gallery and wrote to all the friends I recognized who he had done sessions with (he's the go-to guy in the City now, apparently!). They unanimously said that he was easy to work with, professional, and caught the shots they were looking for. So we set it up! One of things I was struck by was how easy the logistics were, such as paying the deposit online, filling out a pre-shoot survey that asked helpful questions about what we had in mind, and choosing shots for prints from our gallery on his website. Joey is also affordable and turns the photos around quickly--we were able to choose shots to frame for Christmas presents within a few days of our session. The company he gets prints through was also speedy and the quality was perfect (especially compared to the DIY photo site options I've been floundering with this past year). Most importantly, Joey's documentary style of shooting was the right fit for us. He knows the city and it's backdrops extremely well, but I liked that he recommended we stay in our neighborhood so that when we look back at the photos, we will remember this time in our lives. Plus it made our kiddo more comfortable to be in his own space, playing with his own stuff. I was nervous that it was starting to rain and we wanted some outdoor shots, but it was no problem! We have some pretty lush landscaping in our condo complex that we showed Joey and he lit up, seeing the possibilities and taking some of the best shots of the bunch. And being a father himself, he has a cool, easy-going way with kids that brings out their best. We are totally thrilled with the process and the results and will definitely use Joey again.
