I'm big on someone respecting my time and I waited an ENTIRE hour from my original appointment. 15 mintues was fine but an hour is insane and still paid the FULL PRICE. I feel like you're better off with someone with a lot more experience. I sent a photo of what I wanted my hair to be and it wasn't even close. She was supposed to dye my hair lighter but mind you, she was late and hour on me anyway. This is someone who'll take advantage.. sadly. Side note: I understand my hair is black and I understood that it wasn't going to be as light as the picture and that was fine. But half of my hair is literally uncolored and doesn't even go together. Below is a photo of what I asked for and sent her lots of TikTok's/links of this person hair. The next photo is what I left with. TWO TONED, half worked on hair. Communication was also 0/10. I asked for a balayage and this is what I got. And she simply stated she didn't know if "I had that time" when she was late a whole hour. 0% accountability for anything. And if she knew i wanted my entire head dyed- why didn't she communicate better she didn't have the time. Obviously I'm very upset. The damage is done and so is my pockets. Save your money and go elsewhere for the sake of wasting your time here.

Today was the first time I've ever been charged extra for a "curl/flat iron," even though my hair wasn't curled or flat ironed at all. The haircut itself was nice, but the blow-dry was honestly really bad--it looked like I tried to do it myself and failed. I didn't say anything in the salon, but when I got home, my friends pointed out how bad it looked, which made me realize I wasn't overreacting. Overall, I do like this salon, especially for walk-ins. If I had to rank the stylists I've been to: Madeline is definitely #1--she did an amazing job with both the cut and styling, and there were no random extra charges. Abel also did a great job with my highlights. Katie and Heather would be tied. They're both very nice, but Katie cut my hair noticeably uneven--I even had coworkers telling me not to go back to her, which is why I stopped coming to the salon for a while. Heather did a good job with the haircut itself, but the styling was not good. I wouldn't have minded as much since I planned to redo my hair at home anyway, but being charged extra for styling that didn't turn out well is frustrating. I was actually going to ask to skip the blow-dry, but she said she needed to dry it to see how it laid and refine the cut. If it had turned out good, I wouldn't have minded the upcharge--but paying extra for something that looked this bad is really disappointing. And the extra charge wasn't explained it almost seemed like she was trying to sneak it in as she whispered to the receptionist to help her add the charge. If I return l be sure to only schedule my appointments with Madeline (:

I truly did not want to write this review about my experience at The Color Bar on June 27, 2026…read more However, after a new stylist declined to schedule a second appointment following my disclosure of what happened, I felt it was only fair to share an honest account so prospective clients could make an informed decision. I will not publicly disclose the name of either stylist, but I am willing to provide that information if contacted directly. I was at The Color Bar for approximately six hours. The foils on the right side of my head seemed to be processing normally. However, after the stylist remixed the color and began applying it to the left side, the foils became extremely hot. The heat was burning my neck and scalp, and my hair itself was burning. I was terrified that my hair was going to burn off, so I began pulling out the foils myself. They were so hot that they burned my fingers as I removed them. Even the salon owner felt the excessive heat. I did not learn until after the incident that she was the owner, but she did not show any concern. The stylist at The Color Bar accused me of putting something in my hair that caused the burning. However, the only product I had used was a natural black-hair shampoo approximately two weeks earlier. I have never experienced anything like this--not even after using boxed hair dye. In an attempt to correct the color, the stylist applied a toner that left my hair looking essentially black. My hair is neither thin nor straight, so perhaps its texture was more challenging for her to work with. However, I trusted that she had the experience necessary to color my hair safely. My hair was severely damaged, my shirt was left with major bleach stains, and although I did request a discount due to the less than professional service,  I was still charged and PAID HER $300. I have included pictures showing the bleach damage to my shirt from that appointment. Despite everything that happened, **I never became angry or raised my voice.** I showed the stylist considerable grace because her child had also been at the salon for several hours, and she shared that her husband had been deployed that day. In August, I visited a stylist at another salon, which I will not name in this review but it's at Hollywood Beach. During that appointment, I privately explained what had happened at The Color Bar and why my damaged hair required extra conditioning and care. When I later tried to schedule a second appointment, she declined to book me and said she had spoken to the other stylist - I didn't even provide her with a name, just an initial! (I could barely remember her name). **I cannot know exactly what was said between the two stylists, but I was shocked to be blamed for what happened**!! The fact that one side processed normally while the newly mixed color on the other side became dangerously hot speaks for itself. Clients should be able to trust that their hair will be treated safely. If something goes wrong, they also deserve honesty, accountability, and compassion. I hope this review encourages others to book with caution, research their stylist thoroughly, and ask questions before committing to a service. Regards, Ventura Resident

I have come to KINshoppe solely to see Chloe for the most beautiful color eyelashes and a luxurious…read morefacial. I kept admiring my friends' colorful eyelashes, and they recommended Chloe to me. For my birthday, I decided to treat myself and see what all the fuss was about. Chloe squeezed me into her packed schedule to make sure I was set for my special day. For my first set, I got purple/pink lashes, and they were fabulous! Chloe was incredibly gentle, and I finally understood how my friends said they fell asleep when they got their lashes done. I didn't think I would have the patience to keep coming back for fills, but the results were too good to stop. When I went back, Chloe added UV colors, making my lashes even more fun and colorful. After going through some life stressors, I scheduled my first facial with Chloe, and OMG! It was like her fingers were doing a choreographed dance on my face as she cleansed my skin and rubbed in different. It was so relaxing, and I left glowing! When we were done, she reviewed the face products I use at home and gave recommendations on what to use and how often. Each time I went into Chloe's "office," I laid down on a heated & padded table; she offered knee and back support pillows, a cozy blanket, and the audio of my choice. She also offered the salon's drink of the month when we were done. Chloe is patient, kind, professional, and she really knows what she's doing. I'm so happy to have found her!
