I originally left a great review but it was definitely too premature. I got my nails done here in January 4th, it took 3.5 hours for my full set of gel x, cost $150 plus tip. They were beautiful and seemed sturdy. I was happy to pay the price with how gorgeous they were. By day 6, two nails had broken off. Not blunt breaks but a clean peel off of the glue. Since then, not even a month later, I have 3 nails left (I keep gluing them back on myself because it was so expensive and I wasn't really planning to get my nails done again so soon). To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Every time I have got Gel X they have lasted 6-8 weeks. For this price and time invested, this should not have happened. I've been on leave from work and resting mostly so I have not been rough with my nails AT ALL. These nails were cured several times so I do not know what the issue is. This salon was recommended to me by someone who has used them before and swore by their work. I'm not sure if it's the materials or technique but buyer beware. Gel X is not the strong suit here. read more

Highly recommend Sindy ( @ sindyinthecosmos on IG ) Today was my first time getting my hair done here and I absolutely LOVED everything about it. It's beautiful inside, everyone I met was super nice, and it felt so much more welcoming than other salons I've visited in the past. I've been dealing with some crazy post partum regrowth and recovering from some DIY damage to my hair. Sindy did a great job correcting my color and gave me literally the best hair cut I've ever had. She was super thorough and she made sure every little detail was perfect since it was my first time getting a shag cut. I left feeling like myself again for the first time since having my baby but 100x better read more

She does amazing designs and has such a steady hand, they always come out looking crisp and precise. Can't recommend her enough!! And she's also so sweet and easy to talk to, she creates a very comfortable environment. The salon is also a really fun atmosphere! The other stylists seem so nice and funny, too! Heaven on earth. I've been seeing Alyssa for about 3 years, she got my hair from sallys dye (dark brown) to balayage just in time for my wedding. now I have pink/purple hair and it's hair I've always dreamed about I also see Emily for my facials and I never thought I would try dermaplaning (a blade to my face freaked me out) but I'm so happy I did!! My skin has never been so soft or glowing. Now, to be real, I've never had a Brazilian wax before so when I found out Jen aka the Vagina Designer was there I HAD to try it out. After my first visit, I got pregnant lol soooo this salon has really changed my life... for the better!! I can't be more grateful for everyone here. The staff is amazing and always so attentive. Feels like you're in the company of besties. read more

This place is so freaking awesome! I wanted a last minute wash and style and they were able to take me right away. Taylor was AMAZING and she's super knowledgable about multiple hair styles and hair textures. I'm trying to up my hair game and she gave me a lot of information on my hair type that I didn't know lol. Also, this shop is such a vibe. It's not only a hair salon, but also a nail salon, and it has a tattoo shop area, and a massage shop area. It's literally like an all in one stop shop lol. Today they even had a pop up of permanent jewelry. Anyhoo, I'm super glad I found this place before it gets hella busy. I met one of the owners and he was saying they just opened up last month in January. The owner was very nice and friendly, the staff were all happy and you can tell everyone gets along, and Taylor was incredible. I lowkey wanted to gatekeep this place but it's so cool I can't do that loll. I highly recommend you check this place out! read more

Alyssa fixed the job free of charge after 8 days!We would have gotten it done even sooner but we had to wait for my scalp to be in better condition to receive bleach again. I'm only ranking 4 due to the initial inconvenience and upset of not being satisfied with the first experience. She's great at what she does, a great conversationalist and it was a relatively quick and easy experience. read more

This salon was a life savor. Sindy listened and was empathetic to a bad color that another local salon in Silver Strand area of Oxnard did to me. She spent several hours to correct my color and I can say I haven't felt this good about my hair since before COVID. The vibe at this salon is great- the hours it took to fix my color flew by with all the 80s rock taking me back to my youth. Definitely a salon we have been missing and waiting for in Ventura county. read more

Samantha Mendoza has been doing my nails for a few months now and they've never been healthier or looked more naturally beautiful! Great nail tech and fun to chat with! Highly recommend. :) read more

I was transitioning from my long time stylist and Erika understood the assignment! She asked questions to clarify and be sure we were speaking the same language. She checked in with me throughout the process. We discussed pricing up front which was fair and in line with the industry. Erika is easy to talk to, funny and 'real'. I was comfortable in her chair and her experience and knowledge of hair and color was evident. Very happy with results. read more

Let me just tell you that if you want someone to really listen to the specifics of what you want, take everything into consideration such as your style, skin tone, and all the minor details that aren't actually so "minor", book Beatrice for your appointment here. I brought two of my friends to Beatrice after they were both dumped by their Xboyfriends and they walked out with such confidence. I myself have come to Beatrice after a bad day, got to spill all the tea I had and talk it out and then I walked out looking and feeling 100x better. The salon is amazing as a whole as well, great vibes! read more

I initially started going to Vain for my haircuts first and fell in love with the environment and stylists there...when I decided I wanted to play with color I looked at glutton and found an artist that I thought I would like...my initial appointment went fine but when it came time to schedule my touch up I just completely lost all good feelings about this salon...I booked my appt weeks in advance in time for Mother's Day, graduation, and my birthday...the artist cancelled my appt literally one hour before my scheduled time (it was understandable I know things happen) but when she reached out to me days later to reschedule she offered me a time I accepted which I then planned accordingly to make work and she then rescinded that time and cancelled last minute a SECOND time to say she was going to be accepting a "long" walk in appointment instead at the time she offered me first. If you are a business and need to cancel and inconvenience your clients you would think that you'd prioritize getting those clients rescheduled and taken care of instead of a last minute walk in at their convenience. Super unprofessional and nothing like the amazing ladies I got to know at vain. Super disappointed. If you value your time and connections with quality artists, I don't recommend Alexandra. read more

I was greeted at the front by the owners Alyssa and Nick who immediately made me feel right at home. Everyone there was super friendly and it was a really fun environment to be in. I went in for a color correction after a bad experience at another salon. I ended up booking with Tayler and I could not be happier that I did! Tayler was very sweet and extremely knowledgeable. I visited this salon as I was looking to obtain permanent jewelry, but was turned off by the filthiness of the salon. The bathrooms are disgustingly dirty, as well as the floors to the entire salon are not kept clean. I also noticed that the stylist do not use barbicide. The "coffee" station was also filthy, with no cups or napkins. Every aspect of the salon that I was able to see, was less than par. This is solely my opinion which I have the right to express on this forum to share with others before they consider booking here. This is definitely not a luxury salon but a mere place of filth. read more

Jen is simply amazing! I've been on the hunt for someone skilled in cutting straight Asian hair here in Ventura, and she exceeded all expectations. Her warm and friendly personality adds so much to the experience. The salon itself is spacious and cool, located conveniently close to Ventura High School. It's all new, nicely designed and clean, which is fantastic. My only tiny quibble would be the brightness in the salon - while it's probably perfect for the stylists and colorists, it can be a tad intense for us when we're looking at our reflections in the mirrors! But hey, just a minor hiccup in an otherwise stellar experience! read more

Gorgeous place the vibe is nice but the girls all dress like they all just got out of bed some more pajamas, some more sweats some T-shirts and slippers. I can't believe it. They should either get uniforms or dress to impress. They don't have to wear heels since they're on their feet all day, but some real pretty nice shoes and nice jewelry comb your hair girls. Some of you did not have your hair combed as I looked around. I was really disappointed because when I first walked in, I thought I was walking into a luxury. I paid a high price just to have Gook put in my hair and then I was sent home, the girl recommended it I was very disappointed having to come back and I haven't been back since one of these days. I'd like to go back and hope that the girls have dressed up their hair and at least look the part of that gorgeous beautiful place. read more
