The guy at the front desk was very welcoming, he greeted us as soon as we walked in. He told us it would just be a few minutes while he got the rooms ready for us. He was very thorough in explaining the process and offered us waters and showed us where we could get some should we need more during our time there. The place was also very clean. They provide robes, towels, slippers, pretty much everything you need. I did the two part experience, starting with the sauna and finishing with the float. I started with the sauna where which was 45 mins then moved to the float which was 1 hour. The only issue I had here was that the sauna room was too small. I was unable to fully lay/stretch out on the bench, which would've made for a much more relaxing experience. Instead, I had to sit the 45 mins with my knee bent and the bench was hard on my butt despite them having a towel down. The float was by far my favorite part of the experience. It's right across from the sauna room. The guy again comes to take you there and explain the process in detail. There's a shower for you to use before you get in the float and to get your body ready and acclimated to the temperature in the float. There's float has light and relaxing music, both of which you have control of if you want it or not. I turned the light off initially but it was way too dark for me lol I felt trapped so I opted for lights on. The process was so very relaxing that I even fell asleep for a while. I was woken up by the audio telling me the float has ended and thanks for floating. It also tells you that it will begin the cleansing process soon so you should exit the float. As I was showering and getting ready to leave, I saw it going through the cleansing process which was good to see. Definitely recommend this float if you are stressed or just need a mental break. It was good to just be in there with you and your thoughts to reflect and detach and then eventually, truly relax!

I was initially worried because of a past claustrophobia event during an MRI (I'm not usually claustrophobic but I freaked out during my scan and had to be calmed down). Hubby and I had time off together and decided to take the trip to LI for my session. He booked one for himself as well. When we arrived, Raymond checked us in. He explained what we should do in preparation for the session and provided us wutg wax ear plugs. Each room is single occupancy with its own shower (with soap and shampoo), towels, slippers, and bacitracin (if you have any scratches on your skin). It would be best to not book right after shaving or if you gave open wounds, because you'll be floating in a high concentration of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate), which could be irritating to cuts and abrasions. They provide the bacitracin for you to put onto any scrape you may have, which alleviates the sting. Once in the room, you disrobe and shower. You must be clean before entering the tank. The tank is like a clam shell, you climb in and use the "pillow" under your head to keep your head afloat. You're completely naked in the tank and you just float. Napping has exponential benefits while in the tank. Once you set your session, the tank does all the work. You can listen to music, adjust the sound, or just stay in the quiet room. I fell asleep a few times. Because of the high concentration of MgSO4, you're floating and have pretty decent buoyancy. I have locs, so I brought my own swim cap - I would suggest bringing one of you don't want the liquid saturating your hair. Raymond examined how to put on the cap, with the hair on the very top of your head, and the side of the cap covering your ears. I would say, however, not to cover your ears because it creates a spacc for the liquid to seep into and for that reason, I was a bit unhappy with what happened after my session. Once the float is done, the tank let's you know. You exit the tank, hop in the shower, and clean yourself. Once you leave the tank, it begins it's self-cleaning process. The water is swirling around and around and I'm guessing they use UV to help clean it. I did not realize that there was soooo much salt in the tank. I thought I did a good job cleaning myself off in the shower, but because the water got into my swim cap some, once it dried, everything that still had remnants of the water, dried white. Once we headed out, Raymond had water waiting for us. That was refreshing. You should not have a heavy meal or drink a lot of fluids ahead of your visit. I was wearing a black dress and the drips from my hair would dry on my dress and then turn white. You really have to rinse yiursf off very well. It would be best to schedule this kind of experience on a day when you have nothing else to do. I will say that for the actual experience, it was very relaxing and felt amazing but the aftercare was a lot, especially with the salt drying. I would do this again, but definitely will not be going anywhere else afterwards.

She is very firm about doing what's best for the skin, which I really appreciate because she is never pushing anything that's unnecessary or might be too much for the skin. I've been doing dermaplaning with her now for about a year and it's my FAVORITE treatment. She is the only person I would ever let touch my face with a 1 inch blade. Dermaplaning is an alternative to microdermabrasion (which I've done at other locations), but nothing makes my skin glow like dermaplaning! Dermaplaning is an exfoliating procedure using a straight-edge blade/scalpel. My skin is always immediately brighter and smoother. The blade removes all excess hair/peach fuzz and dead skin. Dana is extremely gentle and good at communicating, so you know exactly what to expect. I find the procedure to be quite soothing and relaxing. I also love that she uses a high frequency laser to kill bacteria and LED therapy. Dana accesses my skin and from there customizes my treatment. My usual facial procedure begins with a cleanser, followed by Dermplaning or an enzymatic exfoliation (the papaya one is my favorite!) to resurface the skin and then extractions to clear congested pores. I am really eager to do a peel with her and try micro-needling!! Most importantly she is very CLEAN. Everything comes out of sterile packaging and she is constantly sanitizing. She takes cash & credit. The building has a parking lot, but there's also plenty of street parking.

To my surprise Dana's yelp page popped up and showed a few 5 star ratings. So of course I began to do my research which initially led me to her Instagram page. After what felt like hours of me looking at pictures of beautiful clear skin on several people I decided to message her. I wasn't expecting her to answer so quick but she did and I was able to book an appointment the same week. She even gave me her phone number to text her which made it more of a personal experience. While texting, she asked me several questions about my skin and the products that I was using so that she could do research on the ingredients. I was shocked at how interested and thorough she was. One IMPORTANT thing that I'd like to point out is that she doesn't try to sell you on any procedure, rather she asks that she looks at your skin before giving her recommendations - which I truly APPRECIATE. The day before my facial, Dana messaged me to make sure that I knew exactly how to get there since the building is currently under construction. As soon as I got in she introduced herself which was surprising considering I was expecting to be greeted by receptionists who'd make me sit and wait. However, sessions with Dana are on a complete intimate level. Everything is handled by her in her room. She made me feel extremely comfortable as we spoke about my needs and wants in terms of my skin. At the end of our conversation I decided I was going to do dermaplaning which she can better explain than me (so feel free to message her and ask!) as well as follow up with a customized facial. During each procedure, she informs you of exactly what she's doing as well as how it benefits your skin. I felt completely taken care of you guys! You can tell she's passionate about her work because she takes time to customize facials specifically for your skin type. There is NO rush. Dana is very meticulous and it shows. She did a jelly mask with led lights and also performed high-frequency therapy on my skin which destroys bacteria. Overall I left with my skin feeling better than it's ever. I told her I would go with what she was comfortable doing. She gently applied wax to clean my brow areas and filled them in then topped them with a brow gel to keep them in place. My brows look amazing and her fill-in technique is superb. They look super natural and perfectly contoured. I would recommend and return to Ro without a doubt.
