The class in my opinion appeared overbooked, with 3 people per station which I have never had experienced more than 2. Hand weights had to be shared so I was unable to increase with sets as the workout intended. There were also no towel to wipe down equipment/faces throughout the workout. I can tell this is one of few places to strength train in HH, so I'm glad F45 made its way to the island!

So. I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews. I usually give any business the benefit of the…read moredoubt and also give them a chance to make things right. But that did not just happen. So I called to cancel my Hotworx membership about 4-6 months ago. At that time I was told that it would cost a large fee to cancel the membership, so as a courtesy, they would just put my account on hold or "freeze" with no fee. I was also told on the phone that I could call back when I wanted to "unfreeze" the account. Great. However.... My "membership" was a direct withdrawal from my bank account, and (my bad) I didn't notice that for some reason it was "unfrozen" 3 months ago, at a rate of $59 a month. When I called today to speak with them, they said if I wanted to cancel, it would be $99. This is in ADDITION to the $180 they collected for the last 3 months for turning my account back on. $280 for a mistake that they made. After speaking to 2 individuals (I'm assuming the 2 women who own the store), they said that they would do me a courtesy of canceling my membership for "free", but they would not remove the 3 months of fees. When they turned my membership back on, they did not inform me by email, voicemail, or text. So I was not aware it was back on. They said that, per their contract (that my husband signed, as it was a gift) they did not need to notify me. When I asked why it was turned back on without my permission, they said that this was in the paperwork i signed to freeze the account. I said I called on the phone to cancel, and the woman said that she would freeze for free and I could call back when i wanted to come back. She said I must have been misinformed on the phone, but again referred back to the fine print of the original contract. So, she said I was misinformed on the phone, but still charged for 3 months with absolutely no notification (other than my bank statement), and given this fact, they still would not work with me (other than waiving a $99 fee to cancel). I really thought these women were running a great business there. I enjoyed going there when I got the membership. But this business practice really left a bad taste in my mouth.

The gym is located just a couple of minutes outside of the lower gate (N. Sea Pines Drive) near the intersection of Cordillo Parkway and Deallyon Road. I bought the weekly pass for $30, but you can also buy a 2 day pass for $20 or a 1 day pass for $12. The gym was serviceable for being on vacation, but it is not a gym that I would join on a long-term basis. The gym has all of the weight and cardio machines that you need, but they fit as many of them as possible into their space, and as a result, the machines are uncomfortably close together. One day I was on the stationary bike and the dude next to me shook his head and his sweat landed on my arm. Another day, also while on the stationary bike, a lady got on the bike next to me and she smelled like wild yams. On the flip side, I never had to wait for a machine or cardio equipment because of the fact that they were packed in there. There is one set of free weight dumbbells that has all the weights from 2 to 70 lbs or so. All of the weight machines are functional and are Nautilus circa early 2000s. There are many different machines to work every muscle group. All and all, I would come back this gym on my next visit to the island, but I'm glad I don't have to come here every day.
