Pros: -The teachers are all super friendly and knowledgeable; they will work with you one on one to really learn a move. -The music is amazing and really sets the tone for an incredible workout. Music makes such a difference! -The studio is brand new, super clean and in a really great location (next to Kroger). -Kara (the owner) is so nice - and it feels good supporting another local female business owner! -It is a super intense, full body workout and in three weeks I am feeling stronger already. I can barely do half the moves, so I feel really motivated to get stronger and master them. Cons: -Nothing! I recommend it!!

So. I am not in the habit of writing bad reviews. I usually give any business the benefit of the…read moredoubt and also give them a chance to make things right. But that did not just happen. So I called to cancel my Hotworx membership about 4-6 months ago. At that time I was told that it would cost a large fee to cancel the membership, so as a courtesy, they would just put my account on hold or "freeze" with no fee. I was also told on the phone that I could call back when I wanted to "unfreeze" the account. Great. However.... My "membership" was a direct withdrawal from my bank account, and (my bad) I didn't notice that for some reason it was "unfrozen" 3 months ago, at a rate of $59 a month. When I called today to speak with them, they said if I wanted to cancel, it would be $99. This is in ADDITION to the $180 they collected for the last 3 months for turning my account back on. $280 for a mistake that they made. After speaking to 2 individuals (I'm assuming the 2 women who own the store), they said that they would do me a courtesy of canceling my membership for "free", but they would not remove the 3 months of fees. When they turned my membership back on, they did not inform me by email, voicemail, or text. So I was not aware it was back on. They said that, per their contract (that my husband signed, as it was a gift) they did not need to notify me. When I asked why it was turned back on without my permission, they said that this was in the paperwork i signed to freeze the account. I said I called on the phone to cancel, and the woman said that she would freeze for free and I could call back when i wanted to come back. She said I must have been misinformed on the phone, but again referred back to the fine print of the original contract. So, she said I was misinformed on the phone, but still charged for 3 months with absolutely no notification (other than my bank statement), and given this fact, they still would not work with me (other than waiving a $99 fee to cancel). I really thought these women were running a great business there. I enjoyed going there when I got the membership. But this business practice really left a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm very happy with Club Pilates of Bluffton. I joined when they first opened, and have been happy…read morewith the instructors. I usually try to choose Susie or Maggie's classes because they tend to correct me when I'm not getting the "move" right. I need that correction. There are younger instructors that are cute and obviously know what they are doing, but they tend to be more "hands off" than I want in an in-person class. I really like the fact that they have instructors that appeal to different needs. It can be difficult to get the Wed classes I need due to my schedule. This is because I have the lowest level (4 times a month) membership, and the higher level memberships get to pick classes before I do. But even with my schedule limitations, I've been able to improve over the last year, and I'm glad I joined.
