First and foremost I would like to thank Kristen, the owner, for the warm welcome. I have been taking barre for 10 years and love to visit studios when I travel. The Hilton Head studio was a pleasure. Great teachers and a warm welcome, and I felt like I was home. Thanks Hilton Head!! read more

$28 for a first class is expensive and I didn't realize the cost until I checked my credit card as I didn't receive a receipt. The volume of the instructor was too loud as my ears were ringing after. There was also a spider under the pole workout area that I had to keep an eye. read more

Been working out for the last 7 years but nothing has changed my body the way pure barre has changed it - and I do mean for the better. I am in the upper end of the age brackets and I am tight and firm in places I was not ever tight or firm before if ever. It is my 55 minutes to focus on myself. I highly recommend pure barre Hilton Head. read more

As an athlete and fitness professional, I have high standards for my personal workout regime. I've been doing Pure Barre for over a year and have seen amazing improvements in strength, flexibility and muscular endurance, particularly in my core. I'm also much more comfortable in a bikini, which in my 40s is a huge bonus! I've gone to other locations and they are all good, but Kara and her team are fantastic! Every class is full of positive energy and the instructors always available to make new people feel welcome and help adjust for form and technique. The location has plenty of parking and the space is clean and super attractive. Highly recommend! read more

History

Established in 2014.

We opened in Shelter Cove Towne Centre in November 2014!

Meet the Business Owner: Kara L.

Born and raised in the south, Kara has always lived a healthy, fit, and active lifestyle. Kara attended the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) where she graduated in 2009. While attending USC, Kara fell in love with the positivity and energy found in the fitness studio and wasted no time becoming certified as a group fitness instructor. After graduation, Kara settled for a more traditional career path in Real Estate Management. After moving to Savannah, Georgia, Kara took her first Pure Barre class. It was love at first L.T.B! Kara became instantly hooked on the technique - admittedly 'obsessed' - and could not get enough Pure Barre. Within a few short classes she was amazed at the changes she saw in her body. The technique immediately challenged and excited her and she knew she had found her passion. With the support of loved-ones, Kara decided that she had to share the Pure Barre lifestyle with the both the Hilton Head and Bluffton communities!

I usually try to choose Susie or Maggie's classes because they tend to correct me when I'm not getting the "move" right. I need that correction. There are younger instructors that are cute and obviously know what they are doing, but they tend to be more "hands off" than I want in an in-person class. I really like the fact that they have instructors that appeal to different needs. It can be difficult to get the Wed classes I need due to my schedule. This is because I have the lowest level (4 times a month) membership, and the higher level memberships get to pick classes before I do. But even with my schedule limitations, I've been able to improve over the last year, and I'm glad I joined.

This is the studio where my love for Pure Barre started! This was the only workout I could do after acquiring my first running injury. Pure Barre offers a low impact workout for absolutely anyone. I healed; however, I never returned full-time to running. Pure Barre still remains a huge part of my life. Pure Barre will challenge you in so many different ways! You will work muscles you did not know you even had. You will find your best, toned self! Not only is the workout AMAZING and extremely effective, the staff is extremely professional. Each staff member is warm and welcoming and knows you by name. This is truly a community! So glad that I was able to connect to these people. read more
