I had a monthly membership and have spent thousands with Chateau Glow. After my terrible experience, they did nothing to attempt to retain me or rectify the problem at hand. Yesterday, I came back to Chateau Glow after taking a break in my membership when I had to cancel my appointment in April to deal with a sudden death in my family. I spent $720 on a laser facial package for 4 laser facials in the winter and was alternating between laser and my member voucher until the package was used up (or so I thought). My last appointment was a laser facial, then when I came back to book an appointment, I was automatically booked for a laser facial without having asked for one and was expected to pay the cost of a one-off laser facial, a whopping $350 (minus 20% member discount) out of nowhere after nobody notified me of my package being used up or there being an additional charge in any of my confirmation emails, despite everyone blindly insisting that it was listed within the appointment confirmation emails. I've since checked 5 times to make sure I'm not going crazy, it's not listed. And if by some miracle it is listed, it sure is well-hidden. "The best they could do" after totally blindsiding me was applying one of my vouchers and leaving me out $125. Bethany at the front desk just blankly stared at me and insisted over and over again that I was wrong about the confirmation emails not containing the additional cost, eye-rolls and sighs all part of the A+ customer service experience. After emailing to notify the team of my bad experience and subsequent membership cancellation they did nothing to try to retain me and maintained the same confirmation email story. This business doesn't care if you spend $5 or $5,000 so long as they get their money.

Her jelly masks are the selling point for me. The esthetician, Quyen, is one of the most pleasant people I've met in a long time. During COVID, she took all the right precautions to make you feel safe in the space. It's a small space inside of a building located on Kent Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Parking was a bit challenging but you can find something if you give yourself time. There is a bathroom located in a different area of the building. I enjoyed the vibe, very relaxed; the products were good; she uses Botnia skincare, which is all natural, another plus for me! I initially came for a signature, but ended up trying the dermaplaning service. Unfortunately, dermaplaning is not for me; my chin and cheeks broke out. I reached out to the esthetician whom told me that was the skin purging. Well, l "purged" and I hyper-pigmented, and developed ingrown hairs. My chin has not been the same. I do believe this reaction is what has contributed to me not returning. One thing I look into now is whether the esthetician has extensive experience treating melanated skin, that way there is a quick next step to treat.

The space is clean, quiet, and comfortable. - Friendly and attentive staff who take their time to answer questions and provide guidance on your skin concerns. Whenever I have scheduling issues, I email them and they call/email back to me within 24 hours. You get plenty of notifications and reminders on your upcoming sessions. - Their laser facials address all my concerns: acne and blemishes, hyperpigmentation and melasma, redness and rosacea, fine lines and wrinkles, and congestion and dullness. My $50 promo covered their Signature Laser Facial and Rejuvenator Peel. The session took about 15-20 minutes; the laser felt like a really hot heat lamp on my skin, and the peel stung like vinegar hot sauce for about 2 minutes. I had to avoid sweating and sun exposure for 24 hours, but my face wasn't red at all and felt great. The Power Resurfacing Facial and Resurfacing - Neck & Chest (VV) was super painful, similar to laser hair removal or rubber bands snapping on your face. I actually teared up! I recommend listening to music or podcasts to distract yourself from the pain. My face, chest, and neck had hot red stripes for a full day. My chest had small bumps, and they recommended hydrocortisone. They provide an aftercare card with these instructions: keep reapplying hyaluronic acid to boost results; for the first 24 hours, don't shower or wash your hair, and use only a gentle cleanser (no active ingredients) plus the Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Hydrating Facial Sheet Mask; for 72 hours (3 days), avoid heat like hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and tough workouts, and don't wear sunscreen or makeup; for one week, skip active ingredients like vitamin C, AHAs, and retinoids, and don't physically scrub or exfoliate your skin. I suggest buying affordable hyaluronic acid, hydrocortisone, hyaluronic face masks, and an ice massager from Amazon. - They are very strict on recovery time and will not schedule anything earlier than what is medically allowed, which is around 14 days between sessions. - SL also offers microneedling (SkinTox) at $145 member price.
